This study was aiming at providing fundamental data for the improvement of handball players' athletic perf ormance through the enhancement of agility power and anaerobic power. It was carried out by analyzing the power variables measured and contrasted between excellent male adolescent handball players and ordinary on es. The subject group was composed of nine excellent handball players and six ordinary handball players at D Middle School in D area. The distinction between excellent players and ordinary players was made on the basi s of each player's contribution to the team's advance to the semi-final in the 70th National Handball Champi onship; regular members categorized as excellent players, irregular members as ordinary ones. Along with agili ty power measurement, Wingate Test, which was intended for anaerobic power test, was employed as a meth od of measuring power. The data processing of this study was analyzed through SPSS 18.0 statistic program, a nd its mean and standard deviation were calculated according to each item. For the variance of agility and a naerobic power between the excellent group and the ordinary group to be accurately measured, Independent t -test was used. The level of significance was set at p<.05. The findings showed that the excellent players ha d significantly outperformed the ordinary players in such categories as a standing high jump, a standing broad jump, 30m running, 30sec push-up and so on. These categories are closely related to power, which has a gre at influence on major technical motions determining the success of handball games. When it comes to anaero bic power, the excellent players were found to show a significant statistical superiority over the ordinary play ers in average power and total work for which body weight 1kg was considered. In conclusion, along with a number of capacities reflecting the features of the major technical motions for scoring such as jumping, short distance sprinting, upper body muscular endurance, one of the most important power variables significantly affecting the performance of male adolescent handball players is anaerobic avera ge power that has a strong tolerance to lactic acid and helps people work continuously over a long period of time.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among Taekwondo training level, events, and aggression of elementary school students(4-6th grade). Total of 650 participants were invited to the study an d the survey was collected from three different groups: Taekwondo athletes(n=162), children from private Ta ekwondo institutes(n=258), and non-experienced group(n=230). The survey questionnaires were adapted and d eveloped from Buss & Durkee(1957)’s agreession diagnosis inventory and Heo(1997)’s agrressive desire tes t scale. The independent sampled t-test and one-way ANOVE were used to analyze data. The results showe d that the aggression level was lower in the experienced group than non-experienced group(lower levels in physical aggression, anxiety, negativeness, and total aggression index). In the aggression level according to th e Taekwondo training levels, significant differences existed among groups as of the indirect aggression and negativeness. In terms of the differences of the aggression levels among the Taekwondo events, the competi tion athletes had statistically lower value in the indirect aggression and negativeness than counterpart(lower levels in physical aggression, language aggression, and the total aggression index). The researchers concluded that the competition athletes had lower aggression level than the Pumsae athletes, showing significant differ ence in the indirect aggression and negativeness inventory.

The purpose of this study is to prove the effectiveness of the ‘Small group goal-setting technique’ in elem entary schools physical education classes of the learning for the basic skills of basketball and the enjoyment of physical activities. The 101 4th grade students were the subjects of this study. The subjects were divided into fo ur groups. The first was goal setting with a small group, the second the undivided class, the third individual, an d the last the control group. This study measured three of the particular basic skills of basketball including cros s dribble, zigzag dribble and chest pass. The tool used to measure the enjoyment of physical activities was the ESCPA(Enjoyment Scale for Children’s Physical Activity). The statistical method were the exploratory factor ana lysis to the ESCPA, Cronbach’s ɑ, ANCOVA, and Scheffe test. The statistical significance level was set at ɑ=.0 5. The following conclusion was made. Firstly, the small goal-setting group achieved a higher skill level in the c ross dribble skill than the three other groups. Secondly, there are four factors used to measure the ESCPA whic h are interest·pride, creativity·pride, cooperation and health. Each group indicated different levels in each of these factors as follows. The small goal-setting group achieved higher levels in interest·pride and creativity·pr ide than that of the control group. When looking at the cooperation factor, the small goal-setting group continu ed to achieve a higher level compared to the other groups. When analyzing the health factor, the small goal-se tting group demonstrated a higher level than the individual group.

The purpose of this study is to obtain the basic data for an effective improvement of the orienteering camp programs through diversification of evaluation on the activities of camp participants. The subjects are 37 instruct ors, 377 elementary through highschool students, and their 144 parents who participated in the orienteering cam p run by Korea Council of Sport for All. First, the instructors assessed the orienteering facilities, surroundings, t uition fee, apparatus, expectations, and accomplishments as good, and the students did the satisfactions as so. Se cond, the camp programs were rated positively in the parts of student participants' s social personality and conv enience and professionality of the programs, but it is still required to improve in promotions, goal-oriented syste ms, functional experience and training, overall conditions, and the camp operations. Third, the strong points of t his camp were shown in various parts; the forest experience opportunities, communication with children, coopera tion experience, initiative improvement, enterprising mind and problem solving ability, physical training, positive t hinking and sociality cultivation, etc. However, the weak ones were also shown in the parts of professional instr uctors, diversity of the programs, team-oriented programs, program effectiveness, and the facilities and surroundi ngs. Forth, as a result of the IPA analysis, [sustain ability] factors were safety managements and educations, progr am PR and information offerings, the instructor managements, the durability and continuity of the program, clea rer teaching goal and systematic education course, and understandings on learner traits, and [improvement effor t] factors were the maintenance of the program durability, teaching apparatus and materials development, and e ffective program operation. Finally, according to the SWOT analysis, inducement of interest on physical training, stress reduction, and family-participation were assessed as strong points, but the lack of the program clarity, dur ability, and the program PR as weak ones.
