Antioxidation is an important element in beauty health for youth. In particular, the antioxidant effect related to water is utilized in various fields of beauty health, and among them, we will learn about beauty health promotion activities using hot spring water. Hot spring water corresponds to functional water such as alkaline reduced water, electrolytic acid water, and deep sea water. Hot spring water refers to groundwater above 25℃ that is harmless to humans. Hot spring water is utilized for various functions, and this time, we will look at the use of beauty cosmetics using the antioxidant components of hot spring water and the spa industry. Studies have reported on the effects of drinking hot spring water on disease treatment, diabetes, total cholesterol reduction, and uric acid excretion, and in terms of medical treatment, it is utilized for atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, arthritis, obesity, asthma (immunity), hypertension, etc. In terms of beauty, moisturizing, exfoliation, and collagen metabolism promotion effects are important antioxidant effects for skin beauty. These effects have led to the launch of global hot spring water-based cosmetics, and in Korea, hot spring water-based cosmetics that reflect regional characteristics are utilized. Hot spring water is utilized positively not only in cosmetics but also in the spa industry. SPA is an advanced hydrotherapy facility that uses the heat, buoyancy, and massage of water to stimulate acupuncture points on the body, promote relaxation and stress relief, prevent diseases, and regulate the body's condition. Hot springs are used as a water base with various ingredients such as salt, seaweed, mud, and essential oils. These additives enhance the physiological and psychological functions of the human body. In addition, hydrotherapy using hot springs is used to promote moisture absorption in beauty and cosmetics, promote body metabolism, and remove waste from the body by decomposing fat and toxic substances. The main trend in recent beauty and health promotion is rejuvenation using antioxidation. This means promoting health recovery through antiaging, and the industry utilizing functional water for this purpose is expected to continue to explode.

Asthma is one of the crucial inflammatory diseases with wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and coughing. It is accompanied with the airway hyperresponsiveness, pulmonary inflammation and airway remodeling. Recently, inhalation of essential oils from aromatic plants has been reported to have therapeutic effects for respiratory disease. In this study, we verified the inhibitory effects of peppermint oil inhalation using a nebulizer in mice. Network pharmacology analysis was conducted to predict the functional mechanism of peppermint oil prior to animal experiment. The target genes of menthol and menthone, main compounds of peppermint oil, consisted of the whole network and then analysed in both of KEGG pathway and GO Biological process databases. Based on the results from Network pharmacology, cytokine expression and the IL-6/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway were confirmed in lung epithelial cells and asthmatic mice. Through a network pharmacological analysis, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction and JAK/STAT was expected to be potential mechanisms of peppermint oil. Fine particulate matter (PM)- exposed lung epithelial cells showed the decreases of pro-inflammatory and T helper 2-specific cytokines by peppermint oil treatment. Inhalation of peppermint oil by nebulization also reduced the IL-6 levels and JAK2/STAT3 phosphorylation in PM-exposed lung tissues. Moreover, respiratory epithelium hyperplasia, collagen deposition and goblet cell activation were ameliorated in peppermint oil-treated asthmatic mice. Taken together, inhalation of peppermint oil significantly down-regulated the IL-6/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in inflamed lung tissues. Peppermint oil may have an inhibitory effect on inflammatory asthma under the condition of PM-exposure.

Eucommia ulmoides OLIVER is a medicinal plant that is grown in East Asia including Korean, China and Japan. Radix of E. ulmoidesis reported to lower blood pressure, prevent osteoporosis and regulate the immune system. This study aimed to verify the inhibitory effects of E. ulmoideson lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced intestinal epithelial inflammation. C57BL/6J male mice were pre-treated with 20 and 200 mg/kg of E. ulmoidesextract 2 time per day. After 3 days, LPS was intraperitoneally injected and then mice were sacrificed following 16 hours. Disease Activity Index (DAI) score was calculated as total score including body weight decrease, stool consistency and rectal bleeding divided by 3. The expressions of PINK1/Parkin-related molecules were analyzed in the colon tissues with the histopathology. Treatment with the E. ulmoidesextract significantly inhibited the DAI score in LPS-induced intestinal inflammatory murine model. E. ulmoideseffectively prevent LPS-induced weight loss, impairment of intestinal tissues, and histological evidence of inflammation. Additionally, the levels of PINK1, Parkin and LC3 II, known as molecular markers of mitophagy, were notably reduced in E. ulmoides-treated colon tissues. Furthermore, E. ulmoides administration showed the inhibition of NLRP3 inflammasome complex. The present study exhibited that E. ulmoidestreatment could regulate the PINK1/Parkin cascade of mitophagy, after which inhibit the production of NLRP3 inflammasome complex. The findings of this study suggest that E. ulmoides might be an effective therapeutic agent for treating intestinal inflammation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of learners' self-directed learning ability on their learning satisfaction using smart learning methods in national certification education for cosmetologist (makeup). A survey was conducted on 286 learners majoring in makeup who had recently received national certification education for hairdresser (makeup) for 5 years. The current status of cosmetologist (makeup) national certification education and the utilization of smart learning were investigated, and the subfactors of cosmetologist (makeup) national certification education awareness were composed of instructor, curriculum, educational content, and educational method, and the subfactors of smart learning self-directed learning ability were composed of openness, autonomy, learning motivation, and problem-solving ability, and the relationship between the factors was analyzed. The factors of cosmetologist (makeup) national certification education awareness, smart learning selfdirected learning ability, and learning satisfaction were all lower in the 20s and higher in the 40s, and were analyzed as higher for beauty teachers and instructors and lower for students in the profession. Among the perceptions of certification education, education content had a significant positive effect on learning satisfaction, and learning motivation had the most significant positive effect on learning satisfaction during self-directed learning using smart learning. It was confirmed that educational content had a significant positive effect on learning satisfaction and learning motivation had the most significant positive effect on learning satisfaction during smart learning self-directed learning. This is interpreted as learning motivation, such as learners' abilities and qualities, enjoyment of learning, reward of acquiring knowledge and skills, and internal satisfaction, are related to learning satisfaction. In addition, it can be said that smart learning methods have only recently been introduced, so there is a tendency to look at smart learning from a 'smartphone-centered' perspective. However, since smart devices are not the essence of smart learning, it is necessary to develop smart learning-related policies, continuous support, and infrastructure, and to develop various interesting smart learning-based teaching and learning models that can be used in beauty education smart learning classes to create an environment where learners can self-direct their own learning by actively utilizing these tools.
