This study aimed to compare the effects of semi-permanent makeup and epidermal growth factor (EGF) on eyebrow growth by conducting an experiment with 21 women aged between 20 and 40. The participants were divided into two groups: the PM group (left eyebrow, semi-permanent makeup) and the PME group (right eyebrow, semi-permanent makeup + EGF) for a duration of 8 weeks. The results showed that after 4 weeks, the PM group experienced increases in eyebrow length, thickness, and count, but there was no change in damage level. In contrast, the PME group showed increases in length, thickness, and count, along with a decrease in damage. After 8 weeks, the PME group had a decrease in eyebrow length, but thickness and count continued to increase, and damage levels were reduced. Comparing the PM and PME groups, the PME group demonstrated higher satisfaction and reduced damage after 4 weeks, and after 8 weeks, thickness and count were also greater than in the PM group. In conclusion, the PME group was more effective for eyebrow growth than the PM group, suggesting that the combined use of EGF and semipermanent makeup can enhance growth effects. This study highlights the positive impact of using both semi-permanent makeup and EGF in eyebrow management.
