A Novel Trust Management Method based on Information Visualization for Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is presently operating under its expected capacity, mainly because of the scarcity of trust between data owners and storage service providers. Therefore, establishing trust for cloud customers and providers has become an important issue in cloud computing environment. In the paper we present a novel trust management method (TrustSocieties), our attempt at addressing this trust issue through the use of information visualization. TrustSocieties is a visual method for graphical representation of entity trust relationships in cloud computing. The proposed method can assist cloud computing entities to make good trust decisions. The main contribution of this paper is to provide a visualization trust modeling method to user and improve his or her security situational awareness in the cloud computing environments. The experimental analysis shows that the proposed method gives a better understanding of the trust making process, and facilitates accurate and fair assessment of the service reputations. Our analysis shows a significant improvement in trust assignment accuracy for our technique in comparison to manual trust assignment. Our work appears to be the first attempt to research the visualization method of trust management for cloud computing.

In ultrasonic nondestructive testing, the presence of noise makes great trouble for defect recognition, so it is very necessary to reduce noise in collected ultrasonic signal. In this paper a de-noising algorithm of ultrasonic echo signal based on wavelet transform and Independent Component Analysis (ICA) was presented. First, wavelet transform was used to decompose original noisy signal, and then ICA was applied to decomposed detail coefficients, separated independent components were evaluated by threshold, noise was filtered, and finally, de-noised ultrasonic signal was obtained by wavelet reconstruction. Simulation and experimental results showed that the proposed algorithm can improve signal-to-noise ratio, meanwhile, overcome some other de-noising algorithms’ shortcoming of losing useful information in de-noising, the performance is superior to wavelet threshold de-noising algorithm.

The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics of driver behavior during unexpected traffic emergency situations such as sudden unintended acceleration or brake system failure by analyzing their pedal behaviors. For this purpose it developed a test vehicle and a reproduction test scenario to create an unexpected situation. The reproduction test consisted of scenarios of sudden unexpected acceleration of vehicle, brake booster malfunction and jammed throttle pedal. Finally, we conducted the test with 80 driver lisence holders composed of female drivers and male drivers with less than 2 years of experience. The characteristics of driver behavior in normal state and expected and unexpected emergency situations were analyzed by using pedal angular velocity and effort, and camcorder recordings. The vehicle and scenario were used to conduct driver‘s pedal effort analysis and the findings will be used to create a smart safety system that recognizes and responds to drivers‘ behaviors.
Optimal Transport in Weighted Networks by Deleting Edges

Improve the transmission capacity of the weighted network is one of the most important issues. We propose new route strategies by different edge redefinition while the integrity of the weighted network is remaining maintained. The specified edges deleting can greatly improve the transmission capability of the BBV weighted network. In addition, in the simulations of computer generation networks and real networks, it shows that the strategy of routing policy based on the edges of the two nodes of the product is more effective especially in those large scale weighted networks. And if most edges are deleted, the strategy does not work better.
The Closed-loop Control Strategy for Precise Low Pressure of Powder Pressing Equipment

The multistage compression is usually adopted for large tonnage powder pressing equipment to improve product quality. The first compression is the key process during the powder processing as the target pressure is small and the load is great fluctuant. The pressure in the first compression is likely to be much overshot that makes laminated products if conventional control strategy is applied. The control parameters of routine mode have bad adaptation because they change with the target pressure. In order to improve the accuracy of the pressure and adaptability of control parameters in the first compression, one strategy oriented to engineering application that includes data testing, parameter setting and control optimizing has been proposed. Real-time monitoring system with multi-channels based on LabVIEW is built, and the full-state of equipment can be acquired based on the system. The working statuses of control elements during the pressing process due to inertial force are optimized with the experimental data, and the segmented variable gain control strategy based on parameterization is developed and applied. The experimental results with the strategy during the first compression indicate that the pressure precision is raised from 0.3MPa and above (conventional opened-loop control) to 0.05MPa and below, and the pressing time is controlled in 300ms and below. The control strategy ensures the high accuracy and efficiency of pressing process and it is convenient to be applied in engineering.
Research on Fuzzy Clustering Method for Cloud Computing Task Scheduling

In order to achieve scheduling of the cloud computing resource, we propose an FC algorithm based on the fuzzy clustering in this paper. There are 5 steps in executing the FC algorithm, including the requirement eigenvector construction, the data normalization, the data standardization, the fuzzy similarity matrix construction and the clustering analysis. In which we use the transitive closure method in the clustering analysis. In order to improve the clustering speed in the FC algorithm, we make equivalent operation in the fuzzy matrix construction, so to establish the IFC algorithm. As the experimental results show that, the IFC algorithm has the faster execution speed and suitable for the parallel processing, which can effectively solve the clustering scheduling problem of the cloud computing resource.

Korea has suggested a goal for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 37 percent from the BAU level by 2030 to international society. As a means to achieve this goal, a carbon tax has been discussed again. Both Korea and America highly rely on fossil fuel. Seen in this perspective, identifying how to address climate changes in America according to a carbon tax has great implications for Korea as to how to deal with climate changes. Since it was against national interest, America withdrew from the Kyoto Protocol in 2001 and also failed to pass the carbon tax bills sponsored after 1990 in the United States Congress due to the same reasons. Due to lobbying activities in industrial areas to prevent climate change legislation and skeptical reactions from civil society against a carbon tax, there has been lack of climate change legislation in federal government. According to them, we have suggested what needed to be importantly considered when reviewing the adoption of a carbon tax in Korea. In addition, it was emphasized that adoption of a carbon tax shall be performed in balance of national and international interest.
Demagnetization Analysis of Ferrite Permanent Magnets in Dual Rotor Wind Power Generator

This paper analyzes the demagnetization performance of the ferrite Permanent Magnets in the dual rotor radial flux permanent magnet generator. Two different partial demagnetization mechanisms in the DRRFPM generator are modeled and demonstrated. The 2D finite element analysis (FEA) is employed to accurately analyze the distribution of demagnetization. The 2D FEA results for the proposed DRRFPM generator verify the validity of the partial demagnetization model. The performance degradation induced by demagnetization is evaluated for the proposed generator based on the 2D FEA results. This research reveals the most vulnerable region of the magnet to irreversible demagnetization in the DRRFPM generator.
Analysis of Controlling Strategy for Three Level Buck Convertor

In order to make a Three Level Buck DC-DC converter in ideal stable output and better dynamic performance, we design a fast terminal sliding mode controller to control the output voltage. By analyzing and verifying the effectiveness of the algorithm, we offer the time which the system reaches the sliding surface. In order to further improve the dynamic performance, we improved the topology of the traditional Buck Three Level DC converter, by combining the balance principle of capacitance charging, transient controller is designed. The correctness and effectiveness of the theory and the control method is verified by simulation test.
