Nutritional treatments and solutions for hair loss by hair analysis have been securing its position as the general hair loss control approach in the western world. Hair testing has been used as a preventive measure to identify the reasons of hair loss and so prevent hair loss as well as ultimately for good health. Hair analysis is a problem solution by scientific approach and the analysis data is important to identify the specific features in a certain area. This paper analyzed the mineral contents of marathon runners with hair loss through hair testing. The subjects were runners with visually identifiable hair loss among runners in Chuncheon Marathon in March 2006. In accordance with the analysis, there were more male runners with hair loss than female runners with hair loss. Subjects in their 40s to 50s had more hair loss. The heavy metal contamination figures among the subjects were higher in the order of aluminum, mercury and barium. The mineral contents among the Korean runners were lower in the order of selenium, manganese, phosphorous and sulfur. The mineral contents among the runners with hair loss were higher in the sequence of potassium, calcium, zinc, sodium, copper and chrome.

As the life-style of Korea becomes Westernized with a rapid economic growth, physical activity decreases, and as a result obesity is gradually increasing. In particular, due to the increase of inactivity, lower body obesity tends to increase. Majority are gluteal obesity in which a lot of fats are accumulated in the buttock and thigh, and the lower body obesity causes a decrease of blood and lymphatic circulation. Therefore, in this study, in order to identify the effect of thermotherapy using paraffin wax and lower body meridian hand therapy on the management of lower body obesity, twenty females in their 20s with BMI over 25 kg/m² and body fat over 30% were selected. Ten subjects were assigned to the study group where thermotherapy using paraffin wax was performed for 20 minutes, and another ten subjects to the control group where lower body meridian hand therapy was performed for 20 minutes. To test a difference in the effect between the study group and control group, and between the time points, paired-sample T-test was used for statistical analysis. The results are as follows. In the weight change, the study group showed a 1.63kg reduction after treatment while the control group showed a 0.13kg reduction, and the 1.50kg difference was statistically significant. In the change of body fat, the study group where the thermotherapy using paraffin wax was performed revealed 1.23% more reduction than the control group, which was statistically significant. BMI (Body Mass Index) changed by 0.53kg/m² in the study group and by 0.35kg/m² in the control group not showing a great difference. In addition, the circumference of the left thigh changed from 61.90 ± 3.57cm before treatment into 59.77 ± 4.29cm after treatment in the study group while it changed from 62.60 ± 2.40cm before treatment into 61.83 ± 2.55 cm after treatment in the control group. In the circumference of the left thigh, the study group showed 1.37cm more reduction than the control group. This result is thought to appear because due to the expansion of blood vessels the blood flow becomes smooth and consequently waste is excreted. Given the results above, the thermotherapy using paraffin wax and the lower body meridian hand therapy affect body composition of female in their 20s and result in the reduction of serum lipid level, thus the therapies are effective in the management of lower body obesity and health management.

This study attempted to provide data that would be useful in developing materials for anti-hair loss cosmetics after performing MTT assay and DPPH radical scavenging activity tests on the effective ingredients extracted from Sophora flavescens and Vitex rotundifolia which are known as good substances in preventing hair loss and facilitating hair growth using diverse extraction methods such as hot water extraction, distillation & extraction, organic solvent (ethanol) extraction, ultrasound-assisted (ethanol) extraction and ultrasound-assisted (water) extraction. The results indicate the following: In terms of cellular proliferation effects using MTT assay, ultrasonic (ethanol) extract was the highest, followed by distilled extract, ethanol extract, ultrasonic (water) extract and hot water extract. In particular, ultrasonic (ethanol) Sophora flavescens extract (294.8) revealed very high cellular proliferation effects. In fact, it was far greater than Vitex rotundifolia in terms of cellular proliferation effects. The cellular proliferation effects of Sophora flavescens extract were very high in ultrasonic (ethanol) extract (294.8%) and ethanol extract (201.9%). In terms of the cellular proliferation effects of Vitex rotundifolia, ultrasonic (ethanol) extract (145.3%) was the highest, followed by ethanol extract (90.9%).In addition, the DPPH radical scavenging activity-based anti-oxidative test found that anti-oxidative activity was the highest in ethanol extract (Vitex rotundifolia: 84.8%, Sophora flavescens: 82.7%). In terms of the anti-oxidative effects of Sophora flavescens extract, ethanol extract was the highest at 82.7%, followed by hot water extract (50.6%). In contrast, the anti-oxidative effects of Vitex rotundifolia extract were the highest in ethanol extract at 84.8%.

Accordingly, it is necessary to target the global export market including America by reinforcing as export-driven items No. 330520((lines of permanent waving or straightening) and No. 330590(hair conditioner, hair cream).

The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of anthocyanin pigments of some natural products. which is natural hair dye and free from skin irritation and environmental pollution, as hair dye to make up for the limitations of natural hair dye such as simple color and unscientific process of hair dyeing. Comparison of a 50% (v/v) methanol-water and low temperature pressure extraction method for Hair dyeing properties of anthocyanin pigments in natural products. Based only dye intake(K/S), while mordanting was effective for low temperature pressure extraction. Dye intake of aronia, blackberry, cherry, mulberry, black soybean in that order. From these results, we can confirm that the anthocyanin extracts may be useful in the materials of hair coloring dye.

In order to develop nail art design, theoretical consideration was provided according to literature and previous studies. In addition, five stained glass works applicable to nail art were selected and analyzed. Based on them as a motif, total five nail design works applied with stained glass technique were manufactured. The work named <Mystery of Life> embodied the creation of light and water in the beginning, expressing live motions from a flow of light. Expressing a bending figure of lines and circular-shaped structure, it used many types of colors to emphasize splendid image and also expressed the beauty of curve as a part of characteristics. The work titled <Let Me Be Fisherman Catching You All> expressed a simple structure as well as staid colors as it was an artistic work with simple but geometric expression. It has emphasized the possibly simple art by adjusting the thickness of lines and expressed abstract art in the nail that Alwin Schmid intended to represent in his work. The work named <Window of Magnolia> expressed naturally shaped lines and petals as an art-nouveau work in a form that restrained from using the color as much as possible and also almost not painted on glasses. Full tip made a splendid flower in three-dimensional structure and expressed it. The work titled <14 Places> more resolutely used colors through partition of color and light. Detailed shape was omitted, and it was expressed with Christian symbolic of colors. Ordeal of Jesus, the world of heaven, revival of Jesus, light and truth, and life obtained by overcoming death were expressed in purple, blue, red, yellow, and green, respectively, on the nail art as a part of Christian message contained with colors. The work named <Oh, My Jesus, My Jesus> combined cropped lines and shape of Korean words in the stained glass expressing major phrases in bible or parts of prayer in Korean words instead of describing particular shapes.

This study considered the features of Orientalism found in the modern fashion from the postmodern perspective of culture. This move provided a better understanding of various patterns of New Orientalism Makeup that are appeared in the modern fashion, and found that those patterns can be characterized as traditional, eclectic, playful and future-oriented images. The features of the images can be summarized as follows. First, traditional images are represented by makeup with unique images that feel strongly oriental, folklike and ethnic. Second, eclectic images are featured by crossovers in which a mixture of traditional elements from around the world and a combination of multi-ethnic and plural cultures are found. Third, playful images emphasize atypical makeup that looks weird but humorous, which is presented by the excessive use of colors and combination of ingredients on the basis of experimental creativity. Fourth, future-oriented images are embodied by makeup images that has simple lines on the basis of minimalism and modernism and avant-garde forms.
