This thesis aims at the study of the historical changes of 45 words beginning with ‘ㅈ’ and ‘ㅊ’ in Chungcheongbuk-do dialect. In this thesis is there an introduction to the lexicalphonology of Chungcheongbuk-do dialect. In this study Gyeonggi-do dialect, Gangwon-do dialect, Gyeongsang-do dialect, Jeolla-do dialect also performed some roles for setting up the steps of the historical changes of the given words, and for the assumption about the phonological rules and the order of the phonological rules. In the steps of the historical development of the above 45 words are there various phonological changes : palatalization of 'k, t, th,’ word-initial tensification of ‘ㅈ’, k>p, k>ɦ, ɦ>r, m>k, m>ŋ, m>n, n>ŋ etc., addition of y, n, r, ŋ, deletion of h, p, n, ŋ, umlaut of a, ə, o, u, monophthongization(ex. ay>ɛ, əy>e, oy>ö, uy>ü, ɨy>i), the following vowel changes; ʌ>a ʌ>ə ʌ>ɨ ʌ>o a>ɛ a>ə a>ɨ e>i i>u ə>a ə>e ə>o ə>u o>ə o>ɨ o>u u>ə u>ɨ u>o ɨ>ə ɨ>i ɨ>u ö>e ü>ö ü>i

This paper aims to look into the phonological characteristics of the dialect of Danyang in Chungcheongbuk-do. Danyang-gun is located in the northeastern end of Chungcheongbuk-do; thus the southeast of Danyang-gun faces Gyeongsangbuk-do and the north of Danyang-gun faces Gangwon-do. Such a geological position cause the contact region affected by the sphere of another dialect. In taking a look into the phonological system of Danyang dialect, 19 consonants are realized in the consonant system as they are in the dialect of the central area; however, in the vowel system, 8 to 10 short vowels are realized. As to the phonological phenomenon, the paper considered glottalization, palatalization, neutralization, substantive syllable-final consonantal alteration, consonant cluster simplification, umlaut, vowel nasalization, monophthongization, and vowel fronting. Among others, consonant cluster simplification, vowel nasalization, monophthongization, and vowel fronting appeared frequently in Dongnam dialect, which demonstrates that Danyang dialect is greatly influenced by Dongnam dialect. Therefore, it is found that although Danyang dialect belongs to the dialect of the central area, it has a character of contact dialect, which is highly affected by Dongnam dialect.

In <SoHyunSungRok>, jokes are made often between the characters. Superficially these jokes bear the nature of attack on the opposite, and research on such jokes has several meanings as follows. First, they suggest indirectly the good or bad relation between the characters and, by doing so, they give a realistic and solid feeling. Second, they show diverse views as attacks on a specific figure are made without malice. Third and most of all, a joke as a deviation from normal conversation has the nature of compensation for the mainstream view. This study examined the characteristic mechanism of jokes in this work. First, jokes are led by a number of specific figures. They commonly have a strong will of expression, keep some distance from the object of expression, and are surrounded by amiable environment. However, while jokes made by men are tasteful, those made by women emphasizes uprightness. This suggests different treatment of men and women in those days. In <SoHyunSungRok>, jokes appear in mixture with competition, exposure, depreciation, etc. Competition turns a fight into a play by setting hardly feasible confrontation, and results in the comparison of figures. In the middle, a person’s defect is exposed together with laughter, and this is discrepant from the general opinion of the figure. Exposure is not a new secret but the revelation of information shared implicitly among the members. A joke is established by reversing and exaggerating a fact, and is meaningful in that one confronts the rigidity of the ruling discourse with laughter. Depreciation is established when the joker’s will of expression bears aggressiveness. In order to turn aggressiveness into laughter, various variables should be considered including relations among the figures and situation. Different from competition and exposure, the success of deprecation is not easily predictable. Compared to normal conversations, jokes do not make a significant contribution to the development of narration. Nevertheless, responses to jokes are diverse from those of the figures to those of the readers. Through such a variety of responses, jokes raise an objection to the one‐sided description of an episode and induce the readers to have various reading experiences.

In this paper, I attempted to prove Universality of Kim, So-Wol's poems by analyzing time-consciousness in his poems. Reversible time-consciousness, continuous time-consciousness, non-homogeneous time-consciousness, these are high frequency of time-consciousness in his poems. These time-consciousness are post-modern time-consciousness which are contrasted with irreversible time-consciousness, interrupted time-consciousness, homogeneous time-consciousness. Modern time-consciousness is reveled in his poems on the other hand post-modern time-consciousness is concealed. Kim So-Wol intended to bring about emotional effect for readers by post-modern time-consciousness in his works. When we read his poems we can find hybrid feature of the times. University of Kim So-Wol's poems owes largely to the hybrid feature of the times.

This thesis is to examine the aspects and meanings of textualization of the social works represented in three full-length novels in the late period of Japanese rule over Korea. Nam-cheon Kim, in his Sarang eui Soojokkwan(Aquarium of Love), focusing on the process of establishment of a nursery school, makes a nerveless intellectual start a charitable work, thereby constructs a subject of 'contemporary young man'. Tae-joon Lee, in his Cheongchoonmooseong(靑春茂盛, Overgrowth of Youth), narrating the self reform of a delinquent schoolgirl and the establishment of Jaerakwon(再樂園, Reconstructed Paradise), manifests that Choseon society needs a true charity worker and reformation institute. Jeong-Hui Choi, in her Cheonmack(Vein of Heaven), narrating the establishment of Hyangrinwon(香隣園, Institute of Fragrant Neighbors) which became a symbol in the public service sphere, implies that a lot of social works in the late period of Japanese rule were closely related to the policy of Japanese Government General of Korea. Besides, All of these three works are marked by "the publicity in the colonial society" and narration of love.

The purpose of this paper is to show how the Mumyeongssijeon, or the story of a nameless person, which is written by Yi, Gwang Soo(1892~1950), is changed not by the author's own decision but by the political suppression during a period of Japanese rule. The Japanese Government General of Korea forced to eliminate nationalism of Korean through the political censorship to the Korean press. Yi, Gwang Soo wrote the Mumyeongssijeon in 1931, which is one of his works altered by censorship. The original work is based on a true story about Yi, Gap(1877~1917) who had graduated Japanese Military Academy during the Korean Empire and had been Korean military officer. He joined in the independence movement in foreign country after the Korea's loss of the sovereignty, and unfortunately passed away in Russia. This paper shows what is the difference between the original nonfiction story and the altered story. The results are listed below. 1. According to censorship guidelines of Japanese Government General of Korea, most character's name of the story is changed into an Alphabet initial since the real name of nationalist cannot be used in literature. For example, main character's name is A, not the real name Yi, Gap. 2. The story cannot be a touching story since the independence movements of main character A and other parties are described not concretely but abstractly and partly. 3. However, the fictitious part of the story is much longer than the nonfiction since it is easy to create fiction in which the author can write on his own free will without consciousness of censorship. On the other hand, it is very hard to write nonfiction part.

1990년대 이후 한국 환상소설의 서사구조

The aim of this thesis is to submit the narrative structure of fantastic novel which was written since 1990's. I apply the fantastic novel theory of Tzvetan Todorov who is the pioneer of fantastic novel theory and Rosemary Jackson who developed Tzvetan Todorov's theory to this study. Epecially, thie study focuses on showing how 'Hesitation' which is the first option in Tzvetan Todorov' theory is realized in the novels since 1990's, and also vet how to modify the'Hesitation' and narrative structure of fantastic novel recently. <Sex with blue-ringed octopus> by Lee, Pyeong-Jae which shows the 'Hesitation' between supernaturalness and reality was studied here. Fantastic novel which has narrative structure deals with non-daily experience. So, in the story, we can see the vehicle of 'Hesitation' and the reader can meet 'Surprise' through it. <Sex with blue-ringed octopus> by Lee, Pyeong-Jae added 'Transformation' of Tzvetan Todorov to dramatic game of Milan Kundera. With that we can see how the dramatic game style get together with fantasy. and how the reality join with fantasy. Union between supernaturalness with reality is one of the style in fantastic novel. and we meet it a novel, like <My love, my ghost> by Choi, Yin-Suk.. It's quite like a cartoon. it divided into two parts. One is the character who accept fantasy without 'Hesitation' and the other is the reader who taste fantasy accepting "Hesitation'. In the story, the teller assimilate with shamanism which can't easily accept in reality. Unreasonable fantastic world disclose hypocrisy of civilization and comfot agony of real world. in these kins of novels. We can find out new fantasy. It is fantasy without supernaturalness, fantastic world made up of reality. There is a man who is very normal person like any other. There is no supernatural accidents or unrealistic characters. In the novel, the reader can realize that the dailiness is another face of fantasy. We can see the overturn of fantasy. Jang, Jung-Il borrowed a motion picture technique like parody, montage and camera eye in [Pelican], his novel. A motion picture technique in this novel use to criticize the real world where we live. The death of fantastic novel which Tzvetan Todorov worried was reborn in other world. Tzvetan Todorov's 'hesitation' in 19century transformed into new image. Since 1990's, fantasy replaced deman and sexual desire with pictue and image. It is not just staying as fantasy but also the reaction of violence in reality

Successful marital relationship may derive from the mutual respect and trust. Avoiding analysis that marital problems caused by communication can be solved by institutional and normative method, in this paper, I studied the fundamental questions such as purpose of existence and way of life. With the theory of psychoanalysis and thought that Levinas who emphasizes the existence of the other, I reviewed love and identity in 'Box of wife' of Ms. Yeun and 'Go alone like rhinoceros horn' of Ms. Gong in the point of institutional ideology. Marital problems caused by the absence of communication and misunderstanding of the diversity is connected to the existence of human beings. We can recognize the importance of original existence if only the other has insight that 'desire' is essentially different from identity.
