The purpose of this study is to examine a few issues associated with the contraction phenomenon in Korean. In Korean, contraction can be considered to be the phenomenon that two phonemes are combined to be a single phoneme. It is the phenomenon that the number of phonemes is reduced in the process of phonological changes. Of phenomena treated as the contraction in the previous discussion, a phonological phenomenon difficult to be regarded as contraction and phenomenon newly regarded as contraction were reviewed. In some cases, it is not easy to describe the scope of contraction and process of contraction with aspiration, the representative phonological phenomenon of contraction. With regard to the scope of contraction, so called the contraction phenomenon does not belong to the category of contraction in the strict sense. They also included things not easy to be explained only by glide formation or phonological aspects. And of the problems on the process of contraction, when ‘ㅈ’ etc. come in front of ‘ㅎ’ as shown in ‘[ichida]’, it is not easy to explain that it has been aspirated after going through syllable-final plain stops or ‘ㅈ’ and ‘ㅎ’ have been directed contracted. A phonological phenomenon that can be newly regarded as contraction is related to ‘ㆆ’. ‘ㆆ’ can be considered to be a phoneme appropriate to describe the irregular verbs of Korean and be understood in terms of showing the feasibility of phonological skills. According to the utilization aspect shown in ‘Jikko, Jieuni, Jieo’, it is difficult to explain that the utilization aspect of the previous period has been fossilized into modern Korean. Therefore, it is reasonable to recognize ‘ㆆ’ and regard it as the resulting contraction. ‘ㆆ’ can be considered as an element of glottalizing a following ending immediately without being changed or neutralized into ‘ㄷ’. By considering so, there is an advantage that it can be described in parallel with the aspiration phenomenon in which ‘ㅎ’ is shown.

This thesis is to trace some place names and find out the origin and meaning of each name in ‘Geumhan’(금한, 琴閑), a village in Jincheon-Gun, Chungbuk province. There are about 30 place names found in Geumhan. They are mostly names for ‘village,’ ‘mountain,’ and ‘valley’. For ‘village’ names, there are ‘Geumhan’(금한, 琴閑)/ ‘Geumhani’(금한이, 琴閑-), ‘Winmal’(윗말, upper village)/ ‘Araenmal’(아랫말, lower village), ‘Beolte’(벌테), ‘Saete’(새테), etc. ‘Geumhan’(琴閑, relaxing place for playing the string music instrument) is assumed to be related with ‘Geumgok’(金谷, clan village of the Geum/Kim(金, 김) families) found in some literatures, but it is hard to trace its origin. ‘벌테’ is a word form of ‘벌터’(a field place) added with ‘ㅣ’, a suffix. ‘새테’ is a word form of ‘새터’(newly made place) added with ‘ㅣ’. For ‘mountain’ names, there are ‘Ansan’(案山, mountain on the opposite side of a site), ‘Okcheonbyeong’(玉川屛, a clean stream looking like a folding screen), ‘Seongjubong’(성주봉, 城-峰, a fortress peak), ‘Waksaebong’(왁새봉, --峰), ‘Eungbong’(鷹峰, a peak looking like a hawk), ‘Togolsan’(토골산, --山,), ‘Soeppulmeori’(쇠뿔머리, mountain looking like a bull’s horn)/ ‘Soebelme’(쇠벨메), etc. ‘Okcheonbyeong’(玉川屛) means a mountain cliff near ‘玉川’(a clean stream), but it is now far from the stream. ‘Waksaebong’(왁새봉, a gray heron peak or silver grass peak) was named because of many ‘억새’(gray heron) or ‘왁새풀’(silver grass) there. The name ‘Togolsan’(토골산, mountain with grand valley) was made because of a ‘토골’(grand valley) there. ‘Soebelme’(쇠벨메) means ‘mountain with a lying cow’ or ‘mountain cliff with a pond’. With the name, it can be assumed that the tributaries from Chopyeong stream were running along the mountains back of the village at those times. For ‘valley’ names, there are ‘Keungol’(큰골, 大洞, grand valley), ‘Dojangtegol’(도장테골), ‘Seungjigol’(승지골)/‘Seungjitgol’(승짓골), ‘Keunpidonggol’(큰피동골)/‘Jageunpidonggol’(작은피동골), ‘Ansikgol’(안식골)/‘Anjikgol’(안직골), ‘Halmigol’(할미골)/‘Hwalmigol’(활미골)/ ‘Halmegol’(할메골), ‘Nageunegol’(나그네골), ‘Waksaegol’(왁새골), ‘Keundanjigol’(큰단지골)/‘Jageundanjigol’(작은단지골), ‘Togol’(토골), ‘Dongbaekgol’(동백골), ‘Sadanggol’(사당골)/‘Seodanggol’(서당골), ‘Keunosorigol’(큰오소리골)/‘Jageunosorigol’(작은오소리골), ‘Munanigol’(문안이골)/‘Munemigol’(무네미골), ‘Jeongjimokgol’(정지 목골)/‘Jeongjimitgol’(정지밋골), and ‘Keundwitgol’(큰뒷골)/‘Jageundwitgol’ (작은뒷골). Among them, the biggest valley is ‘큰골’(a grand valley), where the folk people lived. There are small 12 valleys on both sides of the village. For other 12 place names, there are many ‘buddhist temple’(절)-related valleys, and they are ‘Dojangtegol’(도장테골), ‘Seungjigol’(승지골), ‘Anjikgol’(안직골), and ‘Togol’(토골). ‘도장’ of ‘도장골’ is ‘a place for selfdiscipline’( 道場), ‘승지’ of ‘승지골’ is ‘a monk’(승절, 僧-), ‘안직’ of ‘안직골’ is a ‘deep-seated temple’(안절), and ‘토골’ is a changed word form of ‘터골’, where ‘터’ is assumed to be a ‘a temple site’(절터). In addition, there are many other place names like ‘Kkoburangte’(꼬부랑테), ‘Sadanggolgogae’(사당골고개), ‘Gosate’ (고사테), ‘Saedeulkkaengbyeon’(새들깽변), ‘Cheonjedang’(天祭堂) etc. Among them, ‘Kkoburangte’(꼬부랑테) and ‘Seodanggolgogae’ (서당골고개) are names for hills, ‘Gosate’(고사테) is a name for road, and ‘Saedeulkkaengbyeon’(새들깽변) is a name for stream. ‘Gosate’(고사테) is made up of ‘고샅’ and ‘-에’, a suffix for a place. ‘새들’ of ‘새들깽변’ is assumed to be ‘a field newly made by the waterfront’.

The career of Garam(嘉藍) Lee, Byung-Gi and his study of korean classical literature ranges from the poet of Shijo(時調, a three-verse korean ode) & it's theorist, via a member of early Hangeul(Korean Alphabet) movement who tried to develop the literacy of korean modern literature, an outstanding korean classical critic to the first generation of modern scholars devoted to the study of korean classical literature. His diverse career has a magnificent meaning related to the history of the progress of our korean literature study such as 1920s' movement for national culture, founding our country's literary tradition. This thesis tries to elucidate the historical and scholastic meaning of Garam(嘉藍) Lee, Byung-Gi's career by investigating his writing on ‘How to make Shijo new’(時調革新 論), which seems to be the privileged place of monitoring his total academic achievement. ‘How to make Shijo new’(時調革新 論), a famous treatise of Garam(嘉藍) Lee, Byung-Gi, can make him to take himself away from a cultural nationalist group of dilettantes, to join the specialized academy of korean classical literature study based on documentary positivism.

The purpose of this thesis is to identify the constitution of Seongeokwonyumun in Goryoungseonsaeng-munjip written by Jinyang and Joseon Dynasty`s reception aspects. Considerin recipients, the constitution of Seongeokwonyumun which was written in a concise style expanded family ethics of oh-gyo into social ethics, revealed the directions of moralization by suggesting an ideal social aspect in ancient times. These factors show that Seongeokwonyumun was meticulously devised for moralization It is thought that Sadaebus in Joseon Dynasty knew Seongeokwonyumun in that Seongeokwonyumun was introduced through the spread of Sohak and Revision of the Lii Family Community Compact. Also Seongeokwonyumun was adopted in its integrity and used as a guide of a governor. The representative writers were Jungchull and Choi Yu-hae, who made out and handed out Seongeokwonyumun written with ethics and order of oh-gyo adding the value of Or-yun in accordance with the real state in Joseon Dynasty. In particular Hunminga by Jungchull, which was the representative work of Didactic Sijos, has closely connected with Seongeokwonyumun in Goryoungseonsaeng -munjip. I will identify the constitution and the way of moralization of Hunminga based on the result of the constitution of Seongeokwonyumun and the social reception aspects of Seongeokwonyumun later.

Yijoyangmunrok and Geumseonjeon have not reported in academia yet while these are related to different version. The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the similarities and differences by the aspect of narrative development of two works and to identify what the differences mean could be the beginning of Yangmunrok novel study. Yijoyangmunrok is possessed by Kim Gwang-soon but only the plot of Geumseonjeon is figured because it is in the North Korea. Nevertheless as it is possible to grasp the narrative structure through the plot, I tried to compare the narrative structure of Yijoyangmunrok and Geumseonjeon and to draw its meaning. Yijoyangmunrok and Geumseonjeon are the novels which described Jo chu-yeon's and Yi geum-seon's heroic acts, their marriage, and the story about their family. Yijoyangmunrok has the narrative structure that each family develops its crisis and conquest and after two families are combined through marriage they overcame the crisis and thrived. By comparison, Geumseonjeon has the narrative structure which two heroic features overcame each family's crisis and married. By the way the narrative structure which before and after the marriage the family crisis and conquer are repeated like Yijoyangmunrok accords with BuJang-yangmunrok and HaJin-yangmunrok. It is reasoned that the narrative structure that after the marriage the families faces the crisis and overcomes it through Yijoyangmunrok and Geumseonjeon can be one of the features of Yangmunrok novel.

본 논문은 한국인 EFL 학습자들의 이문화에 대한 정서 및 행동에 관한 연구로, 서울 소재 4년제 대학의 재학생 339명이 설문에 참여하였다. 연구 결과 1) 대다수의 참여자들의 타문화에 대한 감수성은 DMIS(Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity)의 Minimization과 Acceptance 단계와 일치한 반응을 보였고, 2) 참여자들의 영어사이트 노출정도, 해외체류경험, 외국인 친구 유무는 이문화의 감수성에 영향을 주는 요인으로 나타났으며, 3) 참여자들의 이문화에 대한 정서와 행동은 유의미한 상관관계를 보인 반면에 이문화에 대한 지식이 학습자들의 정서와 행동에 미치는 영향은 미미한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 EFL 학습자들의 문화적 감수성을 높이고 바람직한 의사소통중심의 다양한 수업 활동을 설계하고 활용하는데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
