A Brief Overview of Wireless Power Transfer Techniques

The necessity to distribute energy wirelessly has been spurred by the tremendous growth in the use of portable devices. Mobile devices have become ubiquitous and the circuits within them have been optimized to consume extremely low amounts of power. Such portable electronic sets are in constant use and the frequent need to recharge them; using conventional wired mechanisms have hindered the mobility of users. Wireless transmission of energy to power-up devices has been proposed since the days of Tesla and since then many theories and methods have been invented. This paper discusses some of those techniques briefly.

With the spread of various kinds of cameras such as digital cameras and DSLR and a growing interest in high-definition and high-resolution images, a method that synthesizes multiple images is being studied among various methods. High Dynamic Range (HDR) images store light exposure with even wider range of number than normal digital images. Therefore, it can store the intensity of light inherent in specific scenes expressed by light sources in real life quite accurately. This study suggests feature points synthesis algorithm to improve the performance of HDR panorama recognition method (algorithm) at recognition and coordination level through classifying the feature points for image recognition using more than one multi frames.

Recently, water sewage disposal facilities are able to manage real-time data collection and record management through compact broadband modem LAN switching technology. Therefore, it needs more stable and efficient facility management. So, we required practical use of environmental facilities convergence based on broadband integrated modem. In this paper, we proposed short distance wireless communication network of compact broadband modem for sewage disposal facilities. And it received data inside of water treatment facility using the two communication methods (IEEE802.11x and IEEE802.15.4x). Then, our proposed an data-flow control algorithm of wireless network technology will prioritize processing data when emergency happen through collecting data, analysis data and processing. Lastly, we proved usefulness by experiment and simulation analysis.

In this paper, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame with posture variation and camera view point adaptation by employing the non-adaptive random projections that preserve the structure of the image feature space of objects. The existing online tracking algorithms update models with features from recent video frames and the numerous issues remain to be addressed despite on the improvement in tracking. The data-dependent adaptive appearance models often encounter the drift problems because the online algorithms does not get the required amount of data for online learning. So, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame.

In this paper, we propose the method to improve the performance of the antenna system that contains three bands, such as Lte3G, WLAN and Lte4G. This antenna has an advantage that can cover the three different frequency bands 2.1㎓, 2.4㎓ and 2.6㎓ through one antenna design. The design and simulations are done using CST Microwave Studio 2014 program. The antenna is designed by using the FR-4 (lossy) substrate with the dielectric constant of er=4.3 and dielectric loss tangent 0.025. The substrate dimensions are the following; Thickness[h] is 1.6㎜, Length is 90㎜, and Width is 40㎜. The ground is designed by using the PEC material with h=0.035㎜. The patch is designed by using the copper with h=0.035㎜. In the near future, we will fabricate the antenna, which we have designed, and then apply this antenna to the mobile communication system. And we will test this mobile communication system for the diverse environments.

Effectiveness of Blended Learning Method on Digital Logic Circuit

An ideal teaching-learning method, such as the blended learning method, is to motivate interests in education and to allow active class participation of students. Students exposed to this method are hypothesized to be dedicated in learning and their school life. A research was conducted on 11th graders in Daejeon city high school specialized in industry; the blended learning method was applied to a course, digital logic circuit and the effects on the students’ learning were monitored. The result shows that compared with a common leaning method, the blended learning method is very effective in terms of increasing educational interest, class participation, the level of concentration in class and academic achievement of students. Also, it shows positive feedbacks from the students on the educational videos and the usage of the contents. Conclusively, the blended learning method effectively increases academic achievements through improved educational motivation and active class participation which positively affect the overall satisfaction of participants.

Peer-to-Peer(P2P) systems are generally classified into two categories; hybrid and pure P2P. Hybrid systems have a single central index server keeping the details of shared information, so that undesirable effects such as heavy load on that server and lack of fault-tolerance can be caused. Pure P2P causes the other problems such as message flooding and scalability although it shows high degree of fault-tolerance. Recently, mobile agent-based distributed computing has been receiving wide attention for its potential to support disconnected operations, high asynchrony, and thus saving network bandwidth. In this paper, a new scheme of peer coordination is proposed for a decentralized P2P network with self-organizing structure. We deployed mobile agents for incorporating the advantages of usage of mobile agents into our P2P network. Proposed P2P network has both advantages of hybrid and pure P2P. The problems of heavy load on the server and lack of fault-tolerance are improved by using multiple special peers called super-peers. And the problems of pure P2P can be reduced by using mobile agents.

This paper suggests a method of real time confidence interval estimation to detect abnormal states of sensor data. For real time confidence interval estimation, the mean square errors of the exponential smoothing method and moving average method, two of the time series analysis method, were compared, and the moving average method with less errors was applied. When the sensor data passes the bounds of the confidence interval estimation, the administrator is notified through alarms. As the suggested method is for real time anomaly detection in a ship, an Android terminal was adopted for better communication between the wireless sensor network and users. For safe navigation, an administrator can make decisions promptly and accurately upon emergency situation in a ship by referring to the anomaly detection information through real time confidence interval estimation.

In modern business organization, the most important strategic factor in maintaining competitive advantage in business is to manage and utilize human resources effectively, which has eventually increased workload and psychological pressure in organizations. And research show that increased workload and psychological pressure has produced various tensions in business organizations, and it appears that those tensions have increased the workplace aggressive behavior among employees. In various types of aggressive behavior, this study focuses on verbal aggression. The study also attempts to find out the relationships among verbal aggression, job involvement, and turnover intention among administrative workers in colleges from May 20 to May 26, 2015. Summary of the research result is as follows. First of all, the study shows that verbal aggression directly increases the employee turnover intention.

For a recent most companies to make efficient business management, we are using a groupware service of integrated information system of the entire group. Groupware service integrates the cooperation in excellent synergy and duplicates has been business functions of the business, through the improvement of multi-purpose business processing capacity, there is an advantage of reduced operating costs. However, if the parent company and subsidiary, or to handle common tasks such information agency, which may cause differences in the format of the data passed in the case of a need to provide a document. Therefore, in this paper, in order to solve the heterogeneity problem in data between groups, the data system of the hub base of the cloud is provided. The proposed system is intended to improve the groupware environment including the interoperability of integrated standardized environmental data sharing service.

There are several possible places which are accessible in many buildings and facilities, various types of systems have been utilized such as access control or surveillance depending on the purpose. Especially if security is important, it must go through the various authentication procedures when people can access. Until now many access control systems have been proposed and developed, they are applied and utilized to companies which security is needed. However, as time passes the problems with existing access control systems occur or the vulnerabilities related to access control are reported, as technology advances. The solution to this, we propose authentication technology related to access control using LED-QR tag.

Various products are displayed and traded in superstores. Therefore, providing the information of these diverse products plays a crucial part in acknowledging their presence. Currently, superstores mostly utilize printed materials to provide product information and promotion of displayed products. A display equipment is utilized for providing product information and promotion of certain high-end and new products. As such, utilizing an expensive display equipment in order to provide product information fragmentarily for 1 product or successively can be referred to as being inefficient. This paper aims at proposing a method that enables the description of product information efficiently by utilizing a display specific for store support in order to overcome the restriction mentioned above. A test was executed in order to verify the potential of the method of providing product information though the proposed display.

This system is developed for manufacturing a mass product system grinding cover glasses with highly precise mechanism, and we improved resulted quality. In the development process, we developed a complete process technology through mechanical design, image processing technology, spindle control, mark identification algorithm etc. With this cover glass grinding development, we could developed process technology, image processing technology, organization mechanisms and control algorithms.

Optical camera communication (OCC) is an extension of Visible Light Communication. Different from traditional visible light communication, optical camera communications is an almost no additional cost technology by taking the advantage of build-in camera in devices. It was became a candidate for communication protocol for IoT. Camera module can be easy attached to IoT device, because it is small and flexible. Furthermore almost smartphone equip one or two camera for both back and font side with high quality and resolution. It can be utilized for receiving the data from LED or positioning. Actually, OCC combines illumination and communication. It can supply communication for special areas or environment where do not allow Radio frequency such as hospital, airplane etc. There are many concept and experiment be proposed. In this paper we proposed utilizing Android smart-phone camera for receiver and introduce new approach in modulation scheme for LED at transmitter. It also show how Manchester coding can be used encode bits while at the same time being successfully decoded by Android smart-phone camera. We introduce new data frame format for easy decoded and can be achieve high bit rate. This format can be easy to adapt to performance limit of Android operator or embedded system.

The electric utility has the responsibility of reducing the impact of peaks on electricity demand and related costs. Therefore, they have introduced Direct Load Control System (DLCS) to automate the external control of shedding customer load that it controls. Since the number of customer load participating in the DLC program are keep increasing, DLCS operators a re facing difficulty in monitoring and controlling customer load. The existing DLCS needs constant operator intervention, e.g., whenever the load is about to exceed a predefined amount, it needs operator’s intervention to control the on/off status of the load. Therefore, DLCS operators need the state-of-the-art DLCS, which can control automatically the on/off status of the customer load without intervention as much as possible. This paper presents an intelligent DLCS using the active database. The proposed DLCS is applying the active database to DLCS which can avoid operator’s intervention as much as possible. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed system, variable production rules and intelligent demand controller are presented.

The interaction between wireless sensors such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud is a new paradigm of communication virtualization to overcome resource and efficiency restriction. Cloud computing provides unlimited platform, resources, services and also covers almost every area of computing. On the other hand, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has gained attention for their potential supports and attractive solutions such as IoT, environment monitoring, healthcare, military, critical infrastructure monitoring, home and industrial automation, transportation, business, etc. Besides, our virtual groups and social networks are in main role of information sharing. However, this sensor network lacks resource, storage capacity and computational power along with extensibility, fault-tolerance, reliability and openness. These data are not available to community groups or cloud environment for general purpose research or utilization yet. If we reduce the gap between real and virtual world by adding this WSN driven data to cloud environment and virtual communities, then it can gain a remarkable attention from all over, along with giving us the benefit in various sectors. We have proposed a Pub/Sub-based sensor virtualization framework Cloud environment. This integration provides resource, service, and storage with sensor driven data to the community. We have virtualized physical sensors as virtual sensors on cloud computing, while this middleware and virtual sensors are provisioned automatically to end users whenever they required. Our architecture provides service to end users without being concerned about its implementation details. Furthermore, we have proposed an efficient content-based event matching algorithm to analyze subscriptions and to publish proper contents in a cost-effective manner. We have evaluated our algorithm which shows better performance while comparing to that of previously proposed algorithms.

The use of smart devices worldwide has been increasing day by day and its applications based on IoT have been also extended. But the power control system requires complicated control and processing information from the various sensors in practice. One of the best ways to save the power consumption is to manage elec-trical equipment individually on the Internet. In this paper, remote power control system for managing the power through the relay switch module via Python server was implemented by using Raspberry Pi. The pro-posed power control system can be used anywhere over the Internet.

Infinite competition on ICT industries is starting again. The basis of competence over global dominance will be human resource, a global ecosystem for products and national agenda for science and technology, etc.. This paper presents the six solution for the Global Competitiveness and Coexistence of Korean ICT Industries. Korea should nurture the brand of “World Best Korean ICT Forever” to secure technical competency of ICT related fields in global market. All ICT technologies should be aligned to global standard and market demand from beginning and the ecosystem around product needs to be established. System framework for utilizing the resource of core SW experts must be established. Through global partnership with China as manufacturing base for Korea-developed products, technical competency can be maintained including product planning. Security measure for technical assets is mandatory. Finally, core technology that will drive the future of ICT industries in Korea should be regarded as core subjects.

Home Entertainment system is recently being offered by Home Theater & Smart TV with contents service. Also, console game is being played in the media like in TV. The usage of 4D as the main technology in entertainment industry has mostly been limited in Theme Park, Amuse Park, Theater, and contents for Movie and Animation. Some simulation systems for game has been developed but they were made mostly by using electric or hydraulic motion system which cause high power consumption and have a restriction of place for install. The paper is attempted to build Home Entertainment system which makes users feel realistic contents by developing 4D systems for Home Entertainment rather than before. 4D control S/W in which user can insert and edit 4D effects on contents of all areas such as game, movie, and broadcasting is developed. Also, built-in pneumatic cylinder in 4D system which can be easily controlled and managed in home is developed.

Digital filters are extensively used in the world of communication. In order to design a digital finite impulse response (FIR) filter that satisfies all the required conditions is challenging. In this paper, design techniques of digital low pass FIR filters using Rectangular window method, Hamming window, Hanning window, and Optimal Parks McClellan method are presented. The stability, number of components required and filter coefficients are demonstrated for different design techniques. It is demonstrated that filter design using hamming window is comparatively better than rectangular and hanning window though the components required for all of the windowing technique are same, hamming shows higher stability. The stability is shown with the help of magnitude and phase spectrum of each window. Simulation is carried out using MATLAB and comparisons are made entirely based on the output of the simulation.

Development of IT technology, in combination with the medical area, a number of developments have been made of the digital advanced medical devices, also increased interest in health, sharing of medical information has become increasingly necessary. Standardization for medical information sharing to satisfy these requirements have been studied. However, the medical information system is to build a system independent hospital itself, is difficult to share and exchange medical data with other medical institutions. In this paper, we provide a medical cloud system that can share medical information. Use DBaaS of cloud services. And is an international standard to have a HL7 share information by forming a meta-schema, each of the data transfer, the format of the document oriented data solves the heterogeneity between hospitals. Extracts the required field name of examination information, to exchange information with each of the local information and mapping. Health diagnostic information in the present study and diagnosis through accurate information sharing and exchange is possible ongoing management.

This paper focuses on how cognitive and emotional structures affect humans during long-term interaction. We design an interaction with a turn-based game, the Chopstick Game, in which two agents play with numbers using their fingers. While a human and a robot agent alternate turn, the human user applies herself to play the game and to learn new winning skills from the robot agent. Conventional valence and arousal space is applied to design emotional interaction. For the robotic system, we implement finger gesture recognition and emotional behaviors that are designed for three-dimensional virtual robot. In the experimental tests, the properness of the proposed schemes is verified and the effect of the emotional interaction is discussed.

This study proposes a sports simulation device with various harmonics generation. The proposed system is composed of 6 degrees of freedom simulator devices and three types of sports simulation such as walking, snowboard, and jet-ski. In this research, every joint movement is designed with a crank-and-slider mechanism, which is efficient for generating continuous curvature smoothly. Contrary to the conventional spatial simulator with linear actuators, harmonics generation and its spatial combinations become the crucial issue in this research. The harmonic pattern in each joint is modelled for generating smooth curvatures that are also superposed for achieving overall motions. In addition, the targeted motions of sports simulations have different physical factors of periodic gait motion, frictionless surface, and buoyant effects, which are respectively designed by integrating three dimensional graphics information.

The stamp is one of the crucial information of traditional historical and cultural for nations. In this paper, we purpose to detect official stamps from scanned document and recognize the Mongolian traditional, historical stamps. Therefore we performed following steps: first, we detect official stamps from scanned document based on red-color segmentation and document standard. Then we collected 234 traditional stamp images with 6 classes and 100 official stamp images from scanned document images. Also we implemented the processing algorithms for noise removing, resize and reshape etc. Finally, we proposed a new scale invariant classification algorithm based on KNN (k-nearest neighbor). In the experimental result, our proposed a method had shown proper recognition rate.

In this paper we introduce Kernel Fisher Discriminant Analysis (KFDA) to transform our database of received signal strength (RSS) measurements into a smaller dimension space to maximize the difference between reference points (RP) as possible. By KFDA, we can efficiently utilize RSS data than other method so that we can achieve a better performance.
