Remote Monitoring of Patients and Emergency Notification System for U-Healthcare

This study proposes a remote monitoring of patients and emergency notification system with a camera and pulse wave sensor for U-Healthcare. The proposed system is a server client model based U-Healthcare system which consists of wireless clients that have micro-controller, embedded-board for patient status monitoring and a remote management server. The remote management server observes the change of pulse wave data individually in real-time sent from the clients that is to be remote-monitored based on the pulse wave data stored by users and divides them into caution section and emergency section. When the pulse wave data of a user enters an emergency situation, the administrator can make a decision based on the real-time image information and pulse rate variability. When the status of the monitored patient enters the emergency section, the proposed U- healthcare system notifies the administrator and relevant institutions. An experiment was conducted to demonstrate the pulse wave recognition of the proposed system.
A Dynamic Queue Management for Network Coding in Mobile Ad-hoc Network

Network Coding (NC) is a new paradigm for network communication. In network coding, intermediate nodes create new packets by algebraically combining ingress packets and send it to its neighbor node by broadcast manner. NC has rapidly emerged as a major research area in information theory due to its wide applicability to communication through real networks. Network coding is expected to improve throughput and channel efficiency in the wireless multi-hop network. Many researches have been carried out to employ network coding to wireless ad-hoc network. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic queue management to improve coding opportunistic to enhance efficiency of NC. In our design, intermediate nodes are buffering incoming packets to encode queue. We expect that the proposed algorithm shall improve encoding rate of network coded packet and also reduce end to end latency. From the simulation, the proposed algorithm achieved better performance in terms of coding gain and packet delivery rate than static queue management scheme.
Nonlinear Characteristics of Fuzzy Scatter Partition-Based Fuzzy Inference System

This paper introduces the fuzzy scatter partition-based fuzzy inference system to construct the model for nonlinear process to analyze nonlinear characteristics. The fuzzy rules of fuzzy inference systems are generated by partitioning the input space in the scatter form using Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the rules are determined by membership matrix by means of FCM clustering algorithm. The consequence part of the rules is represented in the form of polynomial functions and the parameters of the consequence part are estimated by least square errors. The proposed model is evaluated with the performance using the data widely used in nonlinear process. Finally, this paper shows that the proposed model has the good result for high-dimension nonlinear process.

The significance, is to introduce a novel way to employ the improved Runge-Kutta fifth order five stage method, here after called as Modified IRK(5,5) method, for system of second order robot arm problem and variations in angles at the joints in which parameters governing with two degrees of freedom which requires lesser number of function evaluations per time step as compared to the existing ones, in order to save time and spaceAn ultimate aim of this present paper is to solve application problem such as robot arm and initial value problems by applying Runge-Kutta fifth order five stage numerical techniques. The calculated output for robot arm coincides with exact solution which is found to be better, suitable and feasible for solving real time problems.

The antenna pattern in this case has a main beam pointed in the desired signal direction, and has a null in the direction of the interference.The conventional antenna pattern concepts of beam width, side lobes, and main beams are not used, as the antenna weights are designed to achieve a set performance criterion such as maximization of the output SNR.A new direction of arrival estimation method using effects of model errors and sensitivity analysis is proposed. Two subspaces are used to form a signal space whose phase shift between the reference signal and its effects of model error signal. Through simulation, the performance showed that the proposed method leads to increased resolution and improved accuracy of DOA estimation relative to those achieved with existing method. Since a desired signal is obtained after interference rejection through correction effects of model error, the effect of channel interference on the estimation is significantly reduced.
An Effective Solution for the Multimedia Telephony Services in Evolving Networks

In the process of a mobile network evolution to the All-IP, it is inevitable to experience a transient period embracing both circuit and packet based data traffics. At the stage of those hybrid networks, it is important to build them in an efficient manner in terms of resource utilization which is closely related to the overall system operation cost. Especially, the multimedia telephony is one of the essential services in the advanced packet based mobile networks. In this paper an effective method of system operation is proposed for building up the multimedia telephony service while the legacy network co-exists. The proposed solution is based on the careful investigation of the usage pattern of the multimedia services in the evolving networks. This method is also expected to be a useful guideline for the network resource planning.

This paper discusses comparative analysis of the effects of surge protection devices (SPD) upon the power line communication channels. The quality of the data transmission channel is measured based on the data rate for the various channel parameters which include channel length and application method of the lightning protection device. The performance measurements are also carried out for various lengths of the communication channel. Experiment results show that specific combination of SPDs applied in the network causes severe degradation of the channel quality which is associated with the combination of grade levels and channel lengths.

In the recent years, as smart phones popularized, the number of people who use IMS (instant messaging service) and SNS (social network service) rapidly has increased as the usage of SMS (short message service) relatively decreased. That is why this thesis suggests a contact control service based on Android. It contains an inducing function that calls acquaintances, which were given a score based on the level of familiarity from saved contacts and call logs. And it provides an overall ranking of call log in order to grasp frequently called people. This developed system was tested on Samsung Galaxy S2 and LG Optimus LTE / Android 2.2 which were the main smart phone models.

In this paper we proposed a PTZ camera system which automatically detect and track moving objects in the image. Once a moving object is detected the PTZ camera traces it in real-time. We proposed the control system which does not depend on camera focusing functionality but uses the object’s center, moving direction, distance and speed. We implemented the system with the TI DM6446 DSP chip. The experimental result shows that the system has excellent performance for high speed vehicles.

Decision-making is to extract information that can be executed in the future, it refers to the process of discovering a new data model that is induced in the data. In other words, it is to find out the information to peel off to find the vein to catch the relationship between the hidden patterns in data. The information found here, is a process of finding the relationship between the useful patterns by applying modeling techniques and sophisticated statistical analysis of the data. It is called data mining which is a key technology for marketing database. Therefore, research for cluster analysis of the current is performed actively, which is capable of extracting information on the basis of the large data set without a clear criterion. The EM and K -means methods are used a lot in particular, how the result values of evaluating are come out in experiments, which are depending on the size of the data by the type of distance-based and probability-based data analysis.
