This research measures the conditions of spinal scoliosis of college students and analyses the factors that affect spinal scoliosis. From September 15, 2008 to October 30, 2008, the study was conducted with 142 C College students and measured the degrees of spinal scoliosis. The analysis was evaluated according to the Pneumex Analysis program. The collected data was compiled into statistics using the SPSS PC+ 12.0 program. The results were as follows: 1. It appeared that in the cases of C curve, reverse C curve, S curve, and the normal, there was a statistical significance(p=.010) between the conditions of spinal scoliosis of the two genders. 2. It appeared that the comparison among the three groups according to the characteristics of the subjects showed a statistical significance in spinal length(p=.000) in the C curve group, age(p=.019) and spinal length(p=.004) in the reverse C curve group, and spinal length (p=.035), difference in apparent leg length(p=.019), and difference in true leg length(p=.012) in the S curve group. 3. It appeared that in the normal group without spinal scoliosis, the results of comparing the differences in apparent⋅true leg length and spinal length according to the characteristics of the subjects showed a statistical significance in spinal length and gender(p=.000), age (p=.008), height(p=.000), and whether or not there was a regular exercise over once per week(p=.001). 4. On the correlations between C curve, reverse C curve, and S curve and differences in apparent⋅true leg length and spinal length, it appeared that: ⓐ As the difference in apparent leg length gets bigger the difference in true leg length gets big in C curve(r=.551, p=.000). ⓑ As the difference in apparent leg length gets bigger the difference in true leg length gets big in reverse C curve(r=.511, p=.006). ⓒ There is no correlation in S curve.

Purpose:The purpose of this study is to find out which method is efficient to enhance the flexibility of lower back between PNF(Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), static and dynamic stretching. Methods:Subjects were 30 young people between the ages 17 and 19. They were randomly divided into three groups; static group(n=10) performed a static stretching, dynamic group(n=10) performed a dynamic stretching, and PNF group(n=10) performed a PNF stretching. Intervention was provided 5 days per week for 4 weeks. For each case, Trunk flexion forward, trunk flexion backward, trunk left lateral bending, trunk right lateral bending, trunk flexion forward a measuring instrument and tapeline were performed to measured the flexibility of lower back at different times(before starting the exercise, after 4 weeks). Results:The results of the study reveal that the lower back flexibility was a statistically significant difference in all groups(p<.05). There was statistically significant difference between PNF group and static group, PNF group and dynamic group. Conclusion:The finding indicated that PNF may be preferred technique for improving flexibility, and that flexibility training results in an increased consistency of flexibility scores

Purpose:The aim of this study was to determine the reliability of parents and therapistsassessed manual ability using the Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) for children with cerebral palsy Methods:Subjects were 136 children with cerebral palsy using rehabilitation programs in 16 welfare centers. Reliability was determined using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Parents and therapists assessed manual ability of children using MACS. Result:The 136 children (Male 73, Female 63) mean age was 7y 5mo years [range 3y 11mo - 13y 5mo]. The overall agreement between parents-assessed and therapists- assessed MACS was good (ICC = 0.84, 95% confidence interval 0.77-0.88). Conclusion:The MACS offers a reliable method for population-based research and communicating about the manual ability of children with CP.

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to compare the influence of Contract-Relax Technique of PNF(Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) and taping treatment on the ROM(Range of Motion), pain and gait speed of osteoarthrits of knee. Methods:In this study K hall for the aged were selected. Twenty-six subjects with osteoarthrits participated in the experiment. The subjects were partitioned into two groups are 13person PNF group and 13person taping group. All subjects randomly assigned to the PNF treatment group and taping treatment group. Both group received treatment for 3times a week during 4 weeks. (PNF group received treatment for twenty times at once). Algometer and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) were used to measure pain, the ROM was meaured using goniometer and gait speed was measured using a stopwatch (30m-test). All measurements of each subject were measured at pre-treatment and post-treatment. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 11.5 using t-test. Results:The PNF group had a significantly increase of knee extension ROM and significantly decrease of pain after treatment 4 weeks(P<0.05). The taping group had a significantly increase of knee extension ROM and gait speed and significantly decrease of pain after treatment 4 weeks(P<0.05). Conclusion:These data suggests that PNF is beneficial to increase knee extension ROM and to decrease pain. Taping is beneficial to increase knee extension ROM and gait speed and to decrease of pain.
