Purpose: This study provided the basic data for selecting the zirconia blocks by comparing the mechanical properties of the all ceramic crown between the domestic, import, translucent and shade blocks that were used in clinically. Methods: Currently, the most commercial block of five types(one import and two domestic block which is the translucent and shade) were used. It were elucidated by means of three point bending test, hardness test, FE-SEM observations and EDX analysis. The results were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA and Scheffe post hoc test for significant findings. Results: For flexural strength, LT specimen was the highest as 733.1 ㎫, followed by JT specimen(712.0 ㎫), ZT specimen(646.0 ㎫), LS specimen(553.1 ㎫), JS specimen(429.0 ㎫). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for flexural strength(p<0.05). For hardness, ZT specimen was the highest as 1556.5 Hv, followed by JT specimen(1540.3 Hv), LT specimen(1512.3 Hv), JS specimen(1472.0 Hv), LS specimen(1353.3 Hv). One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for hardness(p<0.05). Conclusion: Domestic block was higher than import block for flexural strength, and translucent block was higher than shade block for flexural strength. However, all blocks showed clinically acceptable range. There was no significant difference in hardness between domestic and import blocks. And significant difference was observed in translucent and shade blocks.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is a finite element analysis of supporting bone according to custom abutment angle Methods : Implant fixture was selected with a diameter of 4 ㎜ and the length of 13 ㎜. The fixture and abutment was designed by a combination of the abutment screw clamping force to produce a custom abutment model of 0°, 15°, 25° and 35°. The loading condition of 176 N was applied to the lingual surface of the crown, near to the incisor edge, and horizontal load. An oblique load of 90° was applied long axis of the implant fixture analyze the stress of supporting bone. Results : The result of mechanical analysis was observed that the supporting bone stress analysis of the horizontal load, the von Mises stress values (㎫) are given in the order of TH00 (432.6) > TH25 (418.0) > TH15 (417.4) > TH35 (415.8) , the oblique load, the von Mises stress values are given in the order of TO00 (459.3) > TO15 (399.6) > TO25 (374.8) > TO35 (343.4) Conclusion : The 35° abutment over the current clinical tolerance limits will be available for clinical application.

Purpose : This study was intended to investigate the effect of applying liner for chemical bonding and physical surface roughness created on zirconia by using a sandpaper before sintering on the bond strength between the two materials. Methods: Zirconia blocks were cut using a low-speed cutter. Plate-shaped specimen(6mm×6mm×3mm) was fabricated by sintering after giving surface roughness according to four kinds of sandpapers. Depending on whether or not to use liner, 60 specimens were divided into two groups ZN(non-liner), ZL(liner), and the two groups were subdivided into four groups respectively in accordance with sandpaper used, totaling eight groups (n=10). The surface roughness (Ra) values and shapes before sintering were observed, and shear bond strength after pressing ceramic plasticity was measured with a universal testing machine. For a test of the significance, a one-way ANOVA was performed, and Tukey's multiple comparison test was conducted. Results: The observation of the surface roughness was SB04(2.22±1.16㎛), SB08(2.98±0.33㎛), SB12(2.44±1.32㎛), SB20(2.34±0.59㎛) and SA04(2.34±0.67㎛), SA08(1.28±0.90㎛), SA12(2.03±1.60㎛), SA20(2.19±1.73㎛). In the case of ZN Group, the shear bond strength was ZN04(23.26±3.83㎫), ZN08(21.76±2.33㎫), ZN12(20.49±3.01㎫), ZN20(24.98±4.22㎫)(p<0.05). As for ZL Group, the shear bond strength was ZL04(25.09±5.67㎫), ZL08(22.98±2.26㎫), ZL12(21.54±5.70㎫), ZL20(23.98±3.23㎫)(p<0.05). Conclusion: The research results showed that the bond strength of Zirconia core and Pressing ceramic was further improved by physical surface treatment before sintering, rather than by chemical bonding through liner surface treatment.

Purpose: This study set out to propose plans for more efficient and effective clinical practice by investigating the current state of clinical practice in the field of dental technology and thus provide basic data to develop pre- and post-education programs for clinical practice. Methods: The subjects include dental technicians at dental technical laboratories that were appointed as the place of clinical practice by the Department of Dental Technology of G University. The survey period spanned from December 22, 2014 to January 20, 2015. Total 250 questionnaires were distributed to them, and 190(76.0%) were returned. After excluding 23 whose answers were uncertain or seemed to lack reliability, total 167(66.8%) were used in final analysis. Results: 1. The most frequent practice the student did during clinical practice was articulator attachment, which was followed by pin operation or model making, one's own task and practice, sand and crow sculpturing, burying, casting, and grinding. 2. In case of going through the entire process, porcelain had the most students at 39(23.4%), being followed by crown & bridge at 28(16.8%), clinical model at 23(13.8%), full denture at 17(10.2%), and partial denture at 17(10.2%) in the order. 3. Of the students, 59.8%(30.5% for reinforced basic practice; 29.3% for intensive practice education) said that intensive practice education should be reinforced in school; and 22.3% said that intensive theory and practice education was needed, which indicates that 82.6% voiced their opinion of reinforcing education around practice. 4. The students felt that they lacked diligence, passion, and theoretical knowledge somewhat and were relatively good at clinical adaptation and operational skills. Conclusion: The findings show that the students felt an absolute lack of practice education as the school education was focused on theory and national exams in the field of dental technology, thus raising a need to reinforce practice education. Of all the respondents, 62.9% said there was a need to improve the current education with a focus on jobs. In future, education of dental technology should work to bring up able dental technicians that can perform in clinical dental technology right after graduation by reinforcing job-based practice education.

Purpose: The Purpose of the study is to investigate the need for the prepar따ion of old age of Korean dental technicians. Methods·: A total of 778 dental technicians were selected by pr。porti。nal stratified by region compared to extraction sampling from a list of Korea dental technician Association in 2012. The final sample size was 386. Questionnafoεs consisted of 9 general characteristics, recognition 。f old age 4, and prep와ation of old age 9 on a Liken 5 scale. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.784 in the study. All statistical an외yzed were performed using SPSS 14.0(Statistical Packages for Social Science Ver. 14.0. Chicago, IL, USA). Resuits : Factors affeαing the a휠ng preparation 뇨 gender, age, dini다l career, work place(p<0.001). Condusio.o.: This study su앓ested that preparation for old age of Korean dental technicians was very imponant and the preparation must be connected with the social welfare policy.

Purpose : This study studied and investigated the oral health behavior of students in the Department of Dental Technology at D College at D City. Method : A self-administrated survey was conducted by students currently enrolled at the Department of Dental Laboratory Technology at D College (June 4, 2015 ~ June 12, 2015), and 320 copies that were available for statistical processing were statistically analyzed by using the SPSS 19.0 Program. Results : Among the survey respondents, 91.6% had experience of dental treatment. The highest response regarding the frequency of tooth brushing appeared to be ‘twice’ with 44.7%. The responses regarding the time of tooth brushing appeared to be highest for ‘before sleeping’ with 65.3%, which was followed by ‘after breakfast’ with 60.6%. To the question asking which areas are brushed during tooth brushing, the response of ‘teeth, gum, and tongue’ appeared to be highest with 44.4%. Among the respondents, 64.7% experienced scaling, however, the experience rate for scaling appeared to increase in proportion with the increase of class year (p< .001). Regarding the subjective feel for the importance of oral health and necessity of tooth brushing, the scores appeared to be both 4.56. However, the score appeared to be 3.27 regarding one’s subjective perception of one’s own oral health condition. Regarding one’s subjective oral health knowledge level depending on gender, female students showed a meaningfully lower rate (3.12 points) compared to male students (3.29 points) (p< .05), and depending on class, the knowledge level appeared to be meaningfully higher along with the increase in class year (p< .001). The experience of receiving oral health education appeared to be 78.4%, and 88.8% of the respondents responded that there is need for oral health education, however, the intent to participate in an oral health education program appeared to be 56.6%. Conclusion : As a result of the study, it could be concluded that oral health management behaviors and awareness of the students at the Department of Dental Technology at D University to prevent oral diseases were rather poor.

Purpose : This study was to investigate usage satisfaction of multi type handpiece with equipped air-jet function Methods : The subjects of this study through the survey was conducted for fifty-nine dental technicians in Daegu and Gyeongsangbukdo from the May 7 to 19, after the June 23 to July 4 2014. The survey was about the function and quality through user testing environment by cutting zirconia specimens using appliance for zirconia. The collected date was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS Win Ver 19.0 for the satisfaction of handpiece and control system. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 had been decided a standard. General characteristics and relationship between the handpiece and control system was performed correlation analysis. Results : The results of this study is as follows. 35 dental technicians had 1~2 years career in zirconia part as the highest 59.3%, 95% of subjects expected that the prospects for the zirconia material have bright prospects. The satisfaction of multi type handpiece and control system design and function showed a significant difference. Subjects satisfied with the design and function of the multi type showed negative correlation with those of Standard. The satisfaction of multi type handpiece showed 3.37 points of air jet, 3.05 points of noise level, 2.69 points of water flow rate, and 1.98 points of cruise function. Sample differences in all parameters showed a statistically higher difference. Conclusions : High-speed cutting mechanism of multi-type is recommended working with zirconia materials and the multi-type unit combined handpiece motor, air-turbine and air-gun will be expected the increase of user due to the high satisfaction of air jet.
