Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the transmittance differences of pressable ceramic core due to thickness within the visible light spectrum. Methods: 36 specimens were divided into 2 groups (0.6 , 0.8 ) which have each 3 specimens. The size of specimens was 10mm high and 10 wide. The transmittance of specimens are measured by spectrophotometer Model Cary 500 that can measure infrared-ray, visible wave and ultraviolet-ray. Results: The results shows that there was no significant difference between specimen’s thickness(0.6 , 0.8 ) and transmittance. Conclusion: The individual’s color perception is personal and there are numerous factors that influence on it. In general, human eye can perceive the color of thing only within visible light spectrum but in this experiment through spectrophotometer there was no big difference between specimen’s thickness(0.6 , 0.8 ) and transmittance. To sum up, The most important factors were a layed porcelain structure and its thickness rather than core thickness in the porcelain crown. Also, When making all ceramic core with dead pulp(nervous treatment tooth) when used as a restorative esthetic think is more efficient to improve.

Purpose: Densification and mechanical properties of dental zirconia ceramics were evaluated by different sintering methods. Materials and Methods: Y-TZP zirconia block(Kavo Everest ZS blank, Kavo dental GmbH, Bismarckring, Germany) was used in this study. Sintering were performed in heat sintering furnace and microwave sintering furnace, and then experimented and analyzed on a change in densification according to the sintering time, a change in densification according to thickness, flexural strength and micro-structure in zirconia specimens. Results: Microwave sintering was very effective in considerable mechanical properties such as flexural strength and bulk density was drastically increased than conventional electric heating method. It is also shown that microwave sintering time was faster and more economical than common method to be present in qualities which equal or exceed. Conclusion: It will be important to seek the accurate sintering condition of dental zirconia by microwave sintering method and the continuous research is necessary for the study of relationship between sintering methods and mechanical properties.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of oral health behaviors and oral health status, and to analysis the association between health behavior and chronic disease and oral health status of male workers. Methods: The survey used structured self administered questionnaires from September to October in 2009 in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do province, randomize thirty workplace which work more than 50 workers and carry out a survey targeting 30 to 50 age male laborers who work selected workplace. Total of 1,532 replies were analysed. Results: Age, education, monthly income, job was significantly associated with number of toothbrushing, scaling experience, number of missing teeth. Smoking, amount of smoking, frequency of drinking, number of tooth brushing, unmet need and subjective oral health condition, HBP and DM was significantly associated with the number of missing teeth. In logistic regression, age(above 40), monthly income and DM were significant factors on loss of teeth. Conclusion: In conclusion, it is important to provide education on the teeth-brushing and DM management to workers engaged in a small or medium sized workplace with many tooth loss and low educational status, and to recommend a regular scaling as well as to establish policy for creating conditions upon an oral health check-up and a tooth scaling and allow the maintenance of an oral health.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine after graduation of dental technology-do continuing education confirm attendance and expectation level. Methods: The subjects in this study were 151 dental technician in Seoul, Inchon, Gyeonggi and Chungcheongnam-do in province. A survey was conducted from April to May 2011, and the collected data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program. Results: Participation the continuing education 40.4%, do not attend the continuing education 59.6%. General characteristics of respondents according to education after graduation, participate the continuing education in career 5-10 years 54.1%. Do not attend the continuing education three-year graduation 90.6% is the most highly statistically significant survey showed significant differences(p<0.05). Through continuing education, four-point scale of satisfaction survey results, general average 3.00 0.65, higher educational status will create more autonomy and authority in the work place 3.15 0.62 was the highest. Conclusion: Expectation effect about continuing education and education effect after participating, the dental technician recognized that they felt pleasure and satisfaction through education.

Purpose: This study reviews the recent trend of Korean Academy of dental technology research. The data examined are the articles published in the Korean Journal of Korean Academy of dental technology from 1979 to 2011. Methods: The data are retrieved through the internet database Korean Academy of dental technology. The number of paper published is 540, published in 33 volumes of the journal. This study examines research methods, subjects, and author information. Results: Among the 540 articles collected, 422 are Original papers, 106 Clinical Technical Papers, 12case Other papers. 235 are experimental studies. Most experimental studies(235) have examined the ceramic(Porcelain) parts(117). The sole author of 315, co-author of 225 appeared. In turn of dental technicians, and students appeared. Conclusion: The study is to present basic data for research and to indicate the direction of their study in the future.
