Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate bond strength of Metal Disk alloy and casting alloy. Methods: Metal specimens were divided into 4 groups for each alloy. Three point flexural test were used to measure the bond strength of CAD/CAM metal alloy and casting alloy. Statistical analysis was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 19.0 for Windows. As for the analysis methods, the study used Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The average bonding strengths of Group 1 to porcelain was 36.7±9.90 MPa, Group 2 to porcelain was 37.68±4.51 MPa, Group 3 to porcelain was 36.43±6.57 MPa, Group 4 to porcelain was 42.88±6.81 MPa, Each group was not significantly different. Conclusion: Bond strength of Casting alloy is equal to or higher than bond strength of CAD/CAM Metal Disk alloy. Alloy clinical bond strength is 25 MPa, So CAD/CAM Metal Disk alloy can be used as dental material.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of addition of fiber glass on the physical properties of silanized fiber mesh and non silanized mesh of denture base resins. Methods: The denture base resins were used in this study heat curing acrylic resins(Vertex Rs, Lucitone 199, 20 80 ) and fiber glass(SES, Green B&D co., Ltd, 20 80 ) were used as reinforcement. The specimens were stored in distilled water at 37 2 for 72 hours before test. Bending strength and tensile strength were measured by an universal testing machine(Instron 4301, Instron Corp.). Penetration distribution on fiber was observed by scanning electron microscopy(JSM 840A, Jeol Ltd). Results: The bending strength and modulus were increased by 30% after adding fiber glass on denture base resins. Tensile strength showed significant increasing by adding fiber glass on denture base resins. Conclusion: In this study, Addition of silanized fiber in denture base resins were improved physical properties. we confirmed the fiber glass possibility of the replacement about conventional materials.

Purpose: This study was to analyze the castability, surface oxide characteristic of Co-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown and the bonding strength of porcelain fused to metal crown. Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown was used for tests of the castability and surface oxide state and shear bonding strength by various porcelain. The aim of this study was to suggest the differences of result according to Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy. Methods: The kinds of alloy as test specimen was Co-Cr and Ni-Cr alloy. The castability index on the alloy specimens. The surfaces of two alloys were analyzed by SEM and EDX in order to observe oxide characteristic. And the shear test was performed by MTS. Results: The castability index of Co-Cr alloy was 96.8% and Ni-Cr alloy was 94.4%. The strongest bonding strength of Co-Cr alloy was shown 67.37 . Conclusion: The shear bonding strength between Co-Cr alloy and EX3 porcelain was the strongest comparing with others. And all of each alloy was indicated as same level about the castability.

Purpose: This study was to observe surface property and bonding strength according to composition of Ni-Cr alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown. The two kinds of Ni-Cr alloy with different composition ratio of parent metal were observed general properties and chemical properties of each alloy surface and measured the shear bonding strength between ceramic and each alloys. The aim of study was to suggest the material for design of parent metal’s composition ratio to development of alloy for porcelain fused to metal crown. Methods: The two kinds of alloy as test specimen was Ni(71wt.%)-Cr(12wt.%) and Ni(63wt.%)-Cr(23wt.%) alloy. The oxide on surface was observed by SEM and EDX. And the shear test was performed by MTS. Results: The surface property and oxide characteristic analysis of oxide layer, weight percentage of Element O within Ni71Cr12 alloy measured 12.74wt.%, but Ni63Cr23 alloy was measured 15.91wt.%. And the maximum shear bonding strength was measured 106.14 MPa between Ni71Cr12 alloy and vintage halo (VV group). Conclusion: The surface property and oxide characteristic of Ni71Cr12 alloy was similar to Ni63Cr23 alloy. And VV group has the strongest shear bonding strength.

Purpose: The aim of this research was to investigate difference in shear bond strengths of full-contour zirconia layered with porcelain. Methods: Disk-shaped (diameter: 12.0mm; height:3.0mm) zirconia were randomly divided into six groups according to the surface conditioning method to be applied (N=90, n=15 per group): group 1-contol group(ZC); group 2- airborne particle abrasion with 50-um Al2O3(5A); group 3-50-um Al2O3 + liner(5AL), group 4-110-um Al2O3(1A); group 5-110-um Al2O3 + liner(1AL); group 6-liner(LC). On each block, zirconia porcelain was build up according to manufacturer’s instructions. All samples were fixed with measuring jigs and shear bond strength were measured with Universal testing machine. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Win 12.0 statistics program. Results: LC showed the highest value(29.92±2.55 MPa) and ZC showed the lowest value(13.22±1.37 MPa). Zirconia liner and Alumina oxide groups was significantly higher shear bond strength than control(p<0.05). 5A (without liner 22.18±2.37, with liner 22.84±1.74 MPa) was higher shear bond strength than 110 (without liner 20.18±2.38, with 20.71±2.67). Conclusion: Surface treatments may have advantage in bond strength improvement for full-contour zirconia layered with porcelain.

Purpose: In order to find out the impact of changes in polymerization conditions of orthodontic acrylic resin on maximum load. Methods: While maintaining mixing ratio 3:1 of polymer and monomer in spray-on way in the production condition of polymerization temperature 25℃ or 37℃ for 10 minutes or 30 minutes of polymerization time by pressure 3kfg/cm2 or 6kfg/cm2 in the lab maintaining 25℃ of room temperature, the change in maximum load rise rate was tested by producing 5 acrylic resin specimens for orthodontics per group to meet the standards of 25mmX 2mmX2mm and using INSTRON with the 3rd bar 2mm in diameter and parallel support bending device of 15 0.1 as test equipment showing 30.00mm/min of crosshead speed, 50±16 N/min of load ratio in the laboratory of 24℃ room temperature and as a result, the following results were obtained. Results: 1. When increasing pressure from 3kfg/cm2 to 6kfg/cm2, maximum load was lowered by -4.285%. 2. When increasing polymerization time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, maximum load rose by 3.848%. 3. When increasing polymerization temperature from 27℃ to 37℃, maximum load rose by 5.854%. Conclusion: Considering the above test results that polymerization time and polymerization temperature when polymerizing acrylic resin for orthodontics according to changes in working conditions had an impact on the rate of rise of maximum load values but the rate of rise was lowered when increasing pressure from 3kfg/cm2 to 6kfg/cm2, we came to a conclusion that high pressure more than necessary does not affect the rate of rise of maximum load.

Purpose: This study was to observe the surface and interfacial characteristic of Zirconia by surface treatment. And it was observed the roughness and contact angle according to processing, and the interfacial properties by surface treatment on zirconia. Methods: The oxide formation and ion diffusion between core and veneer ceramic were determined by the X-ray Dot Mapping of EPMA(Electron probe micro analyzer). The roughness was measured by 3D Digital microscope and the contact angle according to processing of zirconia was observed using distilled water on the surface. Results: The surface roughness of the specimens Z04, Z12, Z15 was measured 0.67(±0.03)um, 0.50(±0.12)um, 0.35(±0.09)um, respectively. As results of contact angle test, Z04, Z12, Z15 of specimen group without binder treatment was measured 46.79(±3.17) , 57.47(±4.83) , 56.19(±2.66) , respectively. but, L04, L12, L15 of specimen group without binder treatment was measured 63.84(±2.20) , 66.08(±0.16) , 65.10(±1.01) , respectively. Average contact angle of L15 was measured 65.10(±1.01) . In X-ray Dot Mapping results, thickness of binder including Al element was measured that each of L04, L12, L15 were 20um, 15um, 10um. Conclusion: The more rough surface increases the wettability, but the sintered exclusive binder decreases the wettability.

Purpose: The recent proliferation of the aging population, oral health care is closely related to the mental health of the elderly is very important being recognized. Provide basic data for improving the quality of life for the elderly, to determine whether the oral health of the elderly whether oral self-perception of health and any related wish. Methods: Surveys to May 20 from April 15, 2011, subjects were elderly and living in Daejeon and Chungnam 277 people were examined. All the statistics using SPSS 18.0 for the determination of statistical significance, and the significance level was 0.05. Results: 1. Recognized, the most common oral health, self-aware bad the state (46.2%) there was no significant difference in the general characteristics according to self-Oral health status, remaining natural dimensions or the intra-oral prosthetic, there was no significant difference. Purpose: This study aims to present a database for the development of a healthcare management program based on the survey and analysis of self reported psychosomatic symptoms among the current dental technology students. Methods: Subjects of our study are 480 dental technology major students enrolled in a third year college located Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gangwon province. Using a random sampling, we conducted a self-report survey from August 30, 2011 to October 28, 2011 and 418 reports were collected as feedback and we put an analysis on them. Results: 1. The average physical self symptom was 20.49, which is higher than the average mental self symptom(18.54). Of the subcategories of psychosomatic self symptom, we observed multiple subjective symptoms as the highest one(37.77), and aggression as the lowest(13.77). 2. As to gender, both physical and mental self symptom were statistically significant with the scale score of(p<.001). The scale score of subcategories is as follows; multiple subjective symptoms(I, p<.001), eye and skin(B, p<.001), digestive(C, p<.001), impulsiveness(H, p<.001), lie scale(L, p<.001), mental instability(J, p<.001), depression(K, p<.001), aggression(F, p<.001), irregularity of life(G, p<.001), mouth and anal(D, p<.05), nervousness(E, p<.05). 3. As for obesity, statistical significance was shown with the scale scores of physical self symptom(p<.001), multiple subjective symptoms(I, p<.001), digestive(C, p<.001), aggression(F, p<.001), depression(K, p<.01), irregularity of life(G, p<.01), respiratory (A, p<.05), eye and skin(B, p<.05), impulsiveness(H, p<.05), mental instability(J, p<.05). The scale scores in the environmental quality and life satisfaction were shown as follows; depression(K, p<.001), lie scale(L, p<.01), and irregularity of life(G, p<.05). 4. We employed multiple regression analysis to take account of general factors affecting psychosomatic self symptoms, and drew that the explanatory power of the model was proved with the scales of physical self symptom(4.1%) and mental self-symptom(3.6%). Obesity was a factor that affects physical self symptom with the scale score of(p<.01), and environmental quality and life satisfaction(p<.01) and obesity(p<.05) affect mental self symptom. Conclusion: In this analysis we observed obesity of dental technology students can influence their psychosomatic self symptoms. In this sense, it would be reasonable to develop a healthcare management and education programs that help the students maintain a healthy weight and promote their health.
