Smart Room Lighting System with Light Intensity Controller for Curtain and Light Appliances using Raspberry Pi

Background/Objectives: Natural light is an essential strategy to reduce energy consumption. Methods/Statistical analysis: New living experiences acquire integration of technology in every aspect of life, and it seeks to help in saving energy which leads to a higher quality of life. Maximizing the use of natural light can reduce power consumption by up to 60% [1]. Findings: This study aims to propose a novel solution for smart rooms to conserve energy in the buildings by integrating the daylight with a curtain and light appliances MPU controller. The system integrates with a servo motor and LDR that control the window curtain to maximize the use of daylight. According to the change of sunshine intensity, this smart curtain controller system designed by adopting the photosensitive element and light-dependent resistor interfaced with Raspberry pi. Improvements/Applications: The proposed system can escalate the user in providing user-friendly operation and comfortable environment.

Economic Evaluation of Different Solvents in the Production ofLaCoOa Nanoparticles Prepared by the Co-precipitation Method

Background/Objectives: This study aims to investigate the feasibility of undertaking an economic evaluation of different solvents in the production of LaCoO3 NPs prepared by the co-precipitation method. Methods/Statistical analysis: Several economic evaluation parameters were calculated in an ideal condition. Findings: The result showed that the production of LaCoO3 NPs is prospective to be carried out for more than 20 years. The GPM, PBP, CNPV/TIC, and PI showed positive while BEP, BEC, ROI, and IRR were negative. The NPs with aquadest solvent were better than ethanol and ethylene glycol. To confirm its feasibility, these calculations were varied by changing raw materials-sales and income tax costs. Changing raw materials-sales confirmed that the NPs with aquadest can maintain the GPM for increasing raw material up to 300% and decreasing sales up to -100%. The NPs with aquadest and ethanol solvents can survive up to 75% of increasing income tax while ethylene glycol is only less than 50%. Improvements/Applications: This study is very useful for predicting the feasibility in carrying out a project that produces LaCoO3 NPs.

Research on Advanced Management of Network Traffic

Background/Objectives: Network traffic forms a lot in many modern server communication worlds. Methods/Statistical analysis: As a result, the network can exchange data with each other, and the sudden increase in trapping results in malfunction and communication error due to server overload. Findings: Traffic spikes can be attributed to scheduled backups within the LAN, remote backup programs, mail servers, software (SW) upgrades, malware generation and hacking attempts. In general, a small increase in traffic that is easily seen by everyone is likely to recover after a while. However, when traffic attacks coming from too much traffic and hacking intentions, fast network traffic detection, and responses are needed. Improvements/Applications: Therefore, the proposed proposal is proposed to maintain the causes of network traffic surges and countermeasures.

Solar Lighting System for Barangay Abulalas & Barangay Carillo Bridge

The Bulacan State University had an agreement between Local Government Units of Brangays Abulalas & Carillo both in the town of Hagonoy, Bualacan, Philippines to develop and install a much needed Solar Powered Street Lighting system for the bridge that connects the two barangays. The system is composed of two solar powered lighting units capable of illuminating up to 100watts of illumination within a span of 10-12 hours during night time. On the as a result of all these research activities , it was concluded by the researchers that the system is composed with the appropriate components to maximize the peculiarities of the area; the project was deemed by the recipient barangays as highly acceptable, and in terms of the service rendered by the proponents of the project, the recipient barangays rated the service to be very highly acceptable. Qualitative data also indicate that positive progressive developments have occurred due to the installation of the system such as: perceived increased traffic activity during night time and reduced undesirable incidences in the area.
