Background/Objectives: Hyperledger fabric is a blockchain open source project hosted by the Linux foundation. The goal is to create blockchain technology that can be applied across industries such as finance, IoT, logistics, manufacturing and technology. Methods/Statistical analysis: In addition to Hyperledger, there are other blockchain platforms such as R3, Ripple, and Ethereum. The reason why Hyperledger is special is that: 1) it is a private blockchain platform that is suitable for realizing corporate business. The domestic secondary market is growing significantly. The domestic secondary market is over 2 trillion won annually. However, a number of criminal activities are taking place in the second transaction because of the inability to identify one another. Findings: To prevent damage, it is impossible to use the Hyperledger fabric to prove your identity and use chain code to forge post and transaction details. It also prevents fraud, duplicate transactions, counterfeiting and changes. In the case of criminal activity, the relevant nodes are checked to identify the offender's identity and then expedite processing. Improvements/Applications: For this feature, Hyperledger builds a highly reliable secondary trading platform with excellent confidentiality, resilience, flexibility and scalability and the ability to share trading records only with specific members of the network.

Background/Objectives: Nowadays, wireless sensor and control are integrated with the Internet Protocol (IP) to develop the Internet of Things (IoT) for connecting devices which are used in everyday life to the internet. Methods/Statistical analysis: Users can now monitor and control different devices even they are not at home provided there is internet access. The primary advantages from this concept include wireless devices being a part of a cloud-based system by which, it can to interact and communicate, maximize safety, comfort, convenience and energy-savings. Existing systems require additional communication hardware (such as LAN, Bluetooth and RF) and proprietary software to the system which increases to the cost of the system. Findings: There is a need for easy deployable solutions by using open source solutions for both hardware and software. This paper proposes the development of the hardware using ESP8266 microcontroller, the use of MQTT protocol as means of sending and receiving messages from the wireless devices to a central server and the use Node-red Programming for creating the web based application for the IoT based Home Automation. A comparison with existing home automation system was made to evaluate the effectiveness of the system. Improvements/Applications: The use of NodeMCU as the microcontroller equipped with the MQTT protocol and uses a Raspberry Pi as the MQTT broker reduces the need for additional hardware such as Bluetooth and Zigbee and use the existing WiFi netrok at home to control appliances and monitor the power consumption at home.

Background/Objectives: Waste bins are part of our lives for decades and mostly its condition are overflowing due to improper waste dumping, collection and management, which leads in foul smell and unhygienic condition, thus inherently results in environment pollution. Methods/Statistical analysis: Therefore, in this paper, design of a Waste Bin with real time monitoring is presented and a smart waste management system is proposed using the recent technical advancements of automation and Internet of Things (IoT). Findings: The capacitance sensor in the bin continuously monitors the level of the bin in real time and communicates to the central cloud where the bins are connected. Ultrasonic sensor is used to open and close the lid of the bin whenever the persons are nearby the bin. Such smart bins are connected to the cloud, where the bin status are communicated, recorded and monitored by the local bodies through and android app or a centralized server. Improvements/Applications: Thus the designed smart bin and proposed waste management system have better level of smartness compared to existing ones in metropolitan cities in a centralized manner.

Background/Objectives: This study was conducted for the purpose of designing and evaluating the MIRA Learning Package as an alternative learning tool and a robotic simulation technology solution in providing a set of experience to facilitate the student's learning development experience for STEM Education. Methods/Statistical analysis: The study used the Descriptive and the Design methods of Research. The Design method was used in the construction of a functional prototype, designed specifically to serve as an industrial-like robotic manipulator training kit for students’ simulation exercises. Findings: Descriptive method with the use of a questionnaire was used in the analysis of the data gathered. The analysis of data revealed the findings that the Mini-Industrial Robotic Arm (MIRA) Learning Package is an innovative educational platform aimed at providing diverse learning experiences to facilitate student's acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitude for the design, analysis, application and operation of a robot arm. Improvements/Applications: Instructional Manual serves as the students’ guide in learning the concept of robotics and its application in other STEM related subjects.

Background/Objectives: The Philippine government through the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) helps the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to support and sustain growth and address their needs on availing cost-effective solutions. Methods/Statistical analysis: Most of the MSMEs which apply clear bottles for their products use manual inspection. These are prone to human error that leads to poor product qualities and rejects. Findings: To address these problems, this study presents a cost-effective solution by a rule-based machine vision system for clear empty glass base inspection. A method on proper setup for the inspection is presented and validated through an in-line loop on a wedge conveyor machine prototype. A minimal setup time was achieved by experimenting different lighting techniques. Improvements/Applications: The use of back light illumination is suggested for good image processing quality with minimal cost. The implementation of a rule-based inspection in this setup results to a high speed of 9000-18000 bottles per hour (bph) with consistent repeatability and superior accuracy.
