With the increasing demand for Urban Air Mobility (UAM), personal ground-operable air mobility systems capable of ground operation and vertical flight are emerging as next-generation mobility platforms. However, the lack of structural design criteria for such dual-mode systems makes it difficult to achieve both structural safety and weight efficiency. In this study, a truss-structured personal air mobility frame using Al 6082-T6 aluminum alloy was designed based on structural requirements derived from the KSAE Baja competition. Dynamic finite element analysis was performed using Abaqus/Explicit under displacement-controlled loading conditions. Two pipe thickness models (3.0T and 2.0T) were compared to evaluate the effect of weight- reduction design on structural behavior. The results showed that the 2.0T model achieved a 31% weight reduction (from 15.1 kg to 10.4 kg) while maintaining stable structural behavior and energy responses. Stable dynamic structural responses without numerical instability were confirmed through energy balance evaluation. These findings demonstrate the feasibility of lightweight personal air mobility frame design.

This research will consider the problem of designing karkassno-membrane space structures. We consider three variants of the design space of shells formed by the graphs of mathematical functions, as well as a comparison with the shell, obtained without the use of mathematical methods of construction. It is also calculated on the strength of all 4 designs in the program, Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis followed by analysis and comparison of the structures developed. The purpose of this paper is to study the effectiveness of the surfaces formed by mathematical functions, the design of spatial shells of civil and industrial buildings.

In this paper we direct a seismic design of a Reinforce concrete frame building under displacement based design. There is a problem with force based design that we can’t find a clear relation between forces & cracking, that was drift or displacement is directly related with damage. By this simple design method we consider drift as parameter and can easily design this with given performance level under-code drift limit. In this paper determine maximum deviation from target drift& justified it code limit. The approach of our design methodology satisfactorily achieves by inelastic time history analysis as well as push over analysis. In this simple design we get a very successful and a clear predictable seismic response.

최근 빠르게 변화하는 디지털 디자인 분야에 발맞추어 그래픽 저작도구도 다양한 형태로 발전되어 왔다. 그러나 사용자의 환경에 따라 형태와 크기가 달라지는 인터페이스 디자인 분야에서는 보다 유기적이고 확장 가능한 저작도구를 필요로 하게 되었고, 다양한 신규 도구의 등장과 함께 업무 환경에도 변화가 나타나고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 현재 국내 디자이너들이 주로 사용하고 있는 그래픽 저작도구의 현황을 파악하고 이를 해외 사례에 비교하 여 봄으로써 국내 시장과 해외 시장의 그래픽 저작도구 환경 및 디자이너가 저작도구를 선택하는 기준과 기업 유형 및 참여하고 있는 프로젝트의 유형에 따라 저작도구의 선택이 어떻게 달라지는지를 알아보았다. 연구결과 저작도구 의 선택은 프로젝트의 유형과 효율성에 따라 달라졌는데 이를 토대로 디자이너 개인과 기업이 그래픽 저작도구를 선택하고 업무 환경을 구축할 때 참고가 될 수 있는 자료를 제시하고 향후 그래픽 저작도구가 발전해 나가야 할 방향을 제안하고자 한다.

In recent years, graphics authoring tools have evolved into a variety of formats in line with the rapidly changing digital design field. However, in the field of interface design, screen shape and size depending on the user’s environment, it needs more flexible and scalable authoring tools. Along with the emergence of variety of new tools, work processes are also changing. This study investigates what kinds of graphic authoring tools are currently used by designers and compared the result to the case of overseas and examined the difference in the environment of graphic authoring tool. This study looked at criteria and satisfaction of designers choosing authoring tools and how the choice depends on the type of company we are working in and the type of project we are involved in. Research shows that the choice of authoring tools depends on the type and efficiency of the project. Based on this, a reference is provided to establish the standard and working environment for designers and companies to select graphic authoring tools and propose the future direction of graphic authoring tool environments.

The purpose of this study is to conceive thinking framework that will help anyone who is worried about urban regeneration come up with a creative idea and to confirm its applicability through case studies. With the design thinking method developed by engineers and entrepreneurs as starting points, a fusion-design-thinking framework that can be utilized in urban regeneration is proposed. The fusion-design-thinking frame is conceived with synthesizing between the characteristic demands of urban regeneration activation plan, the uniqueness of industrial-legacy and the process of design thinking. Next, in order to confirm the usefulness of the fusion-design-thinking framework, the process of the remodeling of the Goyang Aqua Studio, which transformed the closed-water-purification-plant into the special effect studio, was analyzed. Unlike case studies that focus on success factors or business outcomes, this study focuses on the background, reason, and ideation process that led to the idea of using the closed-water-purification-plant as a special effect studios. Goyang Aqua Studio was born as a result of addressing the utilization of the image of the closed-water-purification-plant, the characteristics of the physical facility, and the location factors as a means to energize the industrial ecosystem of broadcasting-image contents.

This paper is concerned with the optimal design of recliner chair frame. It is necessary for recliner chair frame that is endurable for the repeated load of human sitting. And this paper studies the selected recliner chair frame that is produced in the regional company. The company has not designed and made this chair by the mechanical engineering review. So the current frame structure and parts in this chair frame are studied and researched to develop the new frame structure with mechanical engineering design concepts. This research reported the investigation of new design of recliner chair frame by stress analysis and the verification of mechanical safety. This result will be adopted to design specification of new recliner chair frame.

The planning process of complex projects in tall building is characterized by the cooperation of many involved specialists and by a high degree of information exchange. In order to improve the quality of the structural design of tall buildings, information of different involved partners in the planning process has to be integrated. This paper aims to introduce web-based engineering database for column shortening of tall building. In this study, the interface of integrated frame system is proposed by using the entities for column shortening of tall buildings.

The seismic design according to the DBD(displacement based design) procedure is initiated by specifying a target displacement, while the elastic response acceleration is determined in the first instant to obtain the design force in the current FBD(force based design) procedure. The main difference in between FBD and DBD can be stated that the strength and stiffness are not the design parameters but the outcomes at the end in DBD procedure. The advantage of DBD over FBD is that it only requires the linear static analysis when formulating the design procedure but it can show the yield displacement, ultimate displacement, ductility and design yield moments. This study proposes a seismic design procedure for MDOF steel structure, utilizing this advantage of DBD. This study shows that the ultimate displacement of the structures can be estimated successfully by DBD procedure and target displacement and the story height are the only initial design parameters. It also reveals that drift ratio is the key parameter in DBD procedure affecting ductility, the yield displacement, damping and fundamental period for the structure.

The hydro-forming design process of the sub-frame side members was studied using a high strength steel of 440 MPa in tensile strength. In the part design stage of the side member, the cross section analysis and the overall process design of the part shape were done. In the detailed simulation results, the maximum thickness reduction rate due to hydro-forming was predicted to be 13% and this was predicted to be a safe level without cracking. The end curvature was reduced to increase the stiffness of the part to design more secure parts and two types of grooves were added to the cross section and compared. The thickness reduction rates of the narrow and wide were improved by 18.6% and 15.6%, respectively when the narrow and wide grooves were added.

Recently, the use of tubes in the manufacturing of the automobile parts has increased and therefore many automotive manufactures have tried to use hydro-forming technology. The hydro-forming technology may cause many advantages to automotive applications in terms of better structural integrity of the parts, lower cost from fewer part count, material saving, weight reduction, lower spring-back, improved strength and durability and design flexibility. In this study, the whole process of sub-frame parts development by tube hydro-forming using steel material is presented. At the part design stage, it requires feasibility study and process design aided by CAE (computer aided design) to confirm hydro-formability in details. Overall possibility of hydro-formable sub-frame parts could be examined by cross sectional analyses. All the components of prototyping tools are designed and interference with press is examined from the point of geometry and thinning.

This study is concerned about the optimal design of the main frame in a moper. Mopper is widely used for cleaning in the fields such as airport, subway, train station, large shopping mall, department store, hospital, government buildings, school, industrial building floor, etc. Especially, main frame in mopper are stressed by high, mostly loads. Nevertheless, design of main frame is dependent on experience, and it will cause reliability reduction and cost increase. This research purpose is to propose and verify a method to achieve higher product quality, lower costs, and far less physical testing. In this study, design parameters used for optimization are each thickness of 4 square pipes and 1 plate in the main frame. The result after optimization showed that the weight of main frame reduced to maximum 6.5% when compared with the initial design in main frame.

The object of this study is concerned about the optimal design of the supporting frame in a twist screen. Twist screen is widely used for grading and screening materials in the fields such as coal-selecting, mining-selecting, building materials, electrical power and chemical industry, etc. It is composed of base, supporting frame, vibrator, screen, spring, trough, clamp and etc. Especially, supporting frame in twist screen are stressed by high load, mostly it is shock-type loads. Nevertheless, design of base is dependent on experience, and it will cause reliability reduction and cost increase. The supporting plate is composed by the upper plate, the bracket and etc. This research purpose is to propose and verify a method to achieve higher product quality, lower costs, and far less physical testing. In this study, design parameters used for optimization are the upper plate thickness(8㎜, 10㎜, 12㎜) and the bracket thickness(8㎜, 10㎜, 12㎜) in the supporting frame. The result showed that base weight reduced to maximum 25.8% when compared with the current twist screen.
