In this paper, we present an algorithm for efficient control of backlight LED in order to reduce the power consumption of LCD TV. In addition, a pragmatic implementation method is presented. In conventional local dimming control, backlight LEDs of LCD TV are divided into MxN blocks. And, the proper luminancε for each block is computed according to input image and used for dimming control. But, LED light of each block 1S diffused and affects the neighboring blocks, so that luminance of each block becomes larger than that of intent. In the proposed algorithm, dimming control values are reduced by the amount of quantity affected by the neighboring blocks using light spread function, resulting in additional reduction of power consumption.

Energy efficiency and safe mobility are the two key constituents of the future automobile. The technologies that enable these features are now heavily dependent upon information and communication technology rather than traditional auto-mechanical technology. This paper presents an exploratory project ’Smart&Green Vehicle Project' at Western Michigan University which is to improve the geographical location accuracy of vehicles and to study various applications of making such location data available. Global Positioning System (GPS), Inertial Navigation System (INS), Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (V ANET) technology, and data fusion among these technologies are investigated. Testing and evaluation is done on systems which will gather vehicular positioning data during GPS signal loss. Vehicles in urban settings do not acquire accurate positioning data from GPS alone; therefore there is a need for exploration into technology that can assist GPS in urban settings. The goal of this project is to improve the accuracy of positioning data during a loss of GPS signal. Controlled experiments are performed to gather data which aided in assessing the feasibility of these technologies for use in vehicular platforms.

Recently process industries from oil and gas procedures and mining companies to manufactures of chemicals, foods, and beverages has been exploring the USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) technology to improve safety of production processes. However, to apply the USN technology in the large-scale plant industry, reliability and security issues are not fully addressed yet, and the absence of the industrial sensor networking standard causes a compatibility problem with legacy equipment and systems. Although this situation, process industry such as energy plants are looking for the secure wireless plant solution to provide detailed, accurate safety monitoring from previously hard-reach, unaccordable area. In this paper, SPSF (Smart Plant Safety Framework based on Reliable-Secure USN) is suggested to fulfill the requirements of high-risk industrial environments for highly secure, reliable data collection and plant monitoring that is resistant to interference. The SPSF consists of three main layers: 1) Smart Safety Sensing Layer, 2) Smart Safety Network Layers, 3) Plant Network System Layer.

This paper is concerned with data center remote management service for demanding forecasting and reduction of energy usage. More particularly, intelligent server rack, mounted on inside of the data center, collects information about energy usage and temperature per server. Using this information, management platform forecasts energy demand in the future and automatically makes report according green environment raw. By providing the remote management service through remote terminals, users are not tied to a time and place to control device inside the data center . In this way, the data center remote management service enhances operability of the facility.

This paper propose G-code and G-Pedigree system that are development based on the e-Pedigree and EPC, and RFID solutions for logistics management is proposed. The proposed G-Pedigree system to include the forward logistics and reverse logistics all logistics and management systems are appropriate for the event, with security features, security and accessibility of critical data was strengthened. The proposed G-code systems and the EPC code of the existing RFID readers, tags can be applied to, the more you can manage the logistics-related information.

Since the two-way interactive broadcasting service began, remote controllers have been fitted with 4 color buttons, which enable interaction and convenience to grow between users and content. With Currently, diverse studies on IPTV are in progress. Particularly, as the mobile market rapidly grows, studies on mobile IPTV and on linkage with other media are constantly increasing. Yet, mobile IPTV has never been studied as of now. In that sense, the present study attempted to design a mobile-based IPTV UI that is fitted with more usability and functionality of 4 color buttons and multi-dimensional search based on consistent criteria for content search. The UI designed in this study was estimated using user interface design guideline. The guideline is comprised of consistency, user centered, ease of use, forgiveness, feedback, functionality, aesthetic integrity.
