Background: Hallux valgus (HV) is a common forefoot deformity that can lead to pain, altered gait, and musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Accurate severity assessment is essential for clinical decision-making, yet radiographic methods, though accurate-are costly and less accessible. Objects: This study aimed to develop and clinically validate an end-to-end artificial intelligence (AI)-based mobile application for HV severity classification from smartphone-captured dorsal foot photographs. Methods: The study comprised two phases. In Phase 1 (App & Model Development), we developed a mobile application integrating foot Red-Green-Blue (RGB) image capture, HV severity classification, and immediate reporting. Paired (weight-bearing anteroposterior foot) radiographs and smartphone dorsal foot photographs were collected from 180 adults with HV. Radiographic HV angle and intermetatarsal angle were measured to categorize severity (mild, moderate, severe) as ground truth. A MobileNetV2 convolutional neural network (CNN) was trained on dorsal foot images to predict severity. In Phase 2 (External Validation & Usability Assessment), 30 independent participants underwent both radiographic and app-based severity assessments. Diagnostic times were recorded for both assessments. Participants then completed a 10-item Likert-scale usability questionnaire, with internal consistency assessed using Cronbach's α. Results: The CNN successfully classified HV severity based on radiographic ground truth and showed consistent performance on an external dataset. App-based assessment was on average approximately 12 minutes faster than radiographic evaluation (p < 0.001). Usability evaluation indicated positive user experience (overall mean = 3.84/5, Cronbach's α = 0.706). Conclusion: This study presents fully operational mobile AI application that enables rapid, accurate, and user-friendly classification of HV severity directly from smartphone photographs. By combining machine learning with an accessible mobile platform, it can support point-of-care screening, patient self-monitoring, and community-based care where radiographic evaluation is impractical.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a mobile application focusing on developmental support care for infants born prematurely. Methods: An application was developed using the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation model. In the analysis phase, previous research was evaluated through big data text-mining and a literature review. In the design phase, the preliminary content of the application was designed, and the content validity and comprehension were verified. A hybrid application was developed and used by eight experts and ten users, who evaluated the layout of the mobile application and their satisfaction with it. Results: The content of the designed application comprised a diary, customized information, developmental play, and community. The mean scores for layout were 3.73±0.47 and 3.43±0.68 out of 4 points among the experts and users, respectively. Users’ mean satisfaction score was 3.70±0.70 out of 5 points. Conclusion: The information provided by the mobile application was evaluated as consistent and systematic. The application was also found to be satisfactory by infants’ parents. The mobile application developed through this study is expected to be effective in supporting the development of children born prematurely.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a mobile-based self-management health alarm (MSHA) program for modifying obese children's lifestyle based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills (IMB) model and to test its feasibility. Methods: A methodological study for the development of the MSHA program and pilot study with a one-group pretest-posttest design for feasibility testing was conducted. The MSHA program was designed to provide obesity-related information (I), monitor daily diet and exercise, provide motivational text messages (M), and enhance healthy diet and exercise skills (B) via a mobile-based web platform. In the feasibility test, six obese children participated in the 4-week program, and the number of days per week that they achieved their goals and differences in metabolic components were assessed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: Participants successfully achieved their diet and exercise goals≥5 days per week. Body mass index (z=-1.99, p=.046), waist circumference (z=-2.20, p=.028), and triglyceride levels (z=-2.21, p=.027) significantly decreased. Conclusion: The MSHA program showed positive effects on health behaviors and metabolic syndrome risk. The program may be effective in improving metabolic syndrome in obese children by promoting self-health management behaviors.

In the preceding studies, an analysis of Saga Prefectural sightseeing information by a Self-Organizing Map (SOM) has been tried. And recent development on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will help us to access any results via the mobile devices easily. This is why the mobile devices, e.g., smartphones and tablet computers, have an operating system installed, and we can improve their functions by downloading any applications on the Web. Then, in order to realize this basic idea, development of an application for the mobile devices is investigated through some computer simulations on the standard desktop PC in this paper. As a result, it is found that i) a developed feature map is useful to identify some candidate topics, ii) a touchscreen is suitable to show the feature map, and iii) arrangement of the feature map can be modified based on our interests. Then, it is concluded that the proposed idea seems to be applicable, even though further consideration is required to brush it up.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a health management program using a mobile application for middle-aged men experiencing andropause. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest structure was employed. The study took place from June 27 to August 30, 2024, with participant recruitment occurring from June 27 to July 10, 2024. In total, 61 participants (30 in the experimental group and 31 in the control group) participated from July 15 to August 20, 2024. The experimental group received an application-based health management program, while the control group did not. Results: The experimental group showed significant improvements in subjective quality of life, health-promoting behaviors, and subjective health status compared to the control group (p<.001). Conclusion: This study confirms that mobile applications can effectively manage health during andropause in middle-aged men. Further research with a larger sample size is recommended to validate these findings.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a mobile web-based food allergy (FA) and anaphylaxis management educational program for parents of school-aged children with food allergies and evaluate its effectiveness. Methods: A mobile program was developed based on a web-based teaching-learning system model. Its effectiveness was subsequently evaluated using a parallel, randomized controlled pre- and post-test design. This study included 73 parents of school-aged children with food allergies. These parents were randomly assigned to either the experimental (n ¼ 37) or control (n ¼ 36) groups. The experimental group participated in a 2-week mobile web-based educational program that covered major topics in FA and anaphylaxis management. These topics included an understanding of food allergies and anaphylaxis, learning techniques for using an epinephrine auto-injector, and developing an emergency action plan. An educational booklet was provided to the control group. Participants completed a pre-test and two posttest questionnaires to evaluate the impact of the program. The assessment tools were the Food Allergy Knowledge Test, Food Allergy Self-Efficacy for Parents, and Food Management and Adaptation Scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a test of homogeneity for the pre-test, an independent ttest, and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The experimental group experienced greater improvement in the knowledge of FA (postintervention t ¼ 14.51, p < .001; 2 weeks post-intervention, t ¼ 16.15, p < .001), FA self-efficacy (postintervention t ¼ 77.99, p < .001; 2 weeks post-intervention, t ¼ 76.09, p < .001), and practice behavior in FA management (post-intervention t ¼ 28.10, p < .001; 2 weeks post-intervention, t ¼ 27.98, p < .001) after web-based FA education. Conclusion: This study revealed improvements in the knowledge, self-efficacy, and practice behaviors of parents regarding FA and anaphylaxis management. Therefore, the mobile web-based educational program can contribute to the effective management of food allergies and anaphylaxis for parents of schoolaged children. CRIS registration: KCT0007491.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop and examine the effects of a mobile application-based self-management program for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) in colorectal cancer patients. Methods: This study used a nonequivalent control group and a pretest-posttest design. Eighty-three patients with colorectal cancer undergoing neurotoxic chemotherapy were included in the study (experimental group, n=41; control group, n=42). The self-management program for CIPN consisted of an eight-week program (for individual training and telephonic coaching). CIPN 20, a CIPN assessment tool, and European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-C30 scale were used to assess CIPN, disturbance of activities of daily living, and quality of life, respectively. The study was conducted from December 7, 2018, to August 20, 2019. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, a test of homogeneity in the pretest, independent t-tests, and repeated-measures analysis of variance were used. Results: In the experimental group, significant improvements were found in CIPN (F=5.88, p=.018) and disturbance of activities of daily living (F=8.26, p=.005) compared to those in the control group. There was no significant difference in the interaction between the groups and time in terms of quality of life. Conclusion: Our results indicate that the mobile application-based self-management program used in this study is effective and could be used as a nursing intervention for cancer patients with CIPN.
Development of a New 5 DOF Mobile Robot Arm and its Motion Control System

In this paper, a new revolute mobile robot arm with five degree of freedom (d.o.f) was developed for autonomous moving robots. As a control system for the robot arm, a distributed control system composed of the main controller and five motor controllers for arm joints was developed. The main controller and the motor controllers w ε re developed using the ARM microprocessor and the TMS320c2407 microprocessor, respectively. A new trajectory tracking algorithm for the motor controllers was devised employing pre-generated off-line trajectory data. Also, a 3-D simulator based on the openGL software to simulate the motion of the robot arm was developed. To validate the performance of the robot system, experiments to track a specified trajectory were performed.

This paper proposes a personal information protection model that allows a user to regulate his or her own personal information and privacy protection policies to receive services provided by a service provider without having to reveal personal information in a way that the user is opposed to. When the user needs to receive a service that requires personal information, the user will only reveal personal information that they find acceptable and for uses that they agree with. Users receive desired services from the service provider only when there is agreement between the user's and the service provider's security policies. Moreover, the proposed model utilizes a mobile agent that is transmitted from the user's personal space, providing the user with complete control over their privacy protection. In addition, the mobile agent is itself a self-destructing program that eliminates the possibility of personal information being leaked. The mobile agent described in this paper allows users to truly control access to their personal information.
Ubiquitous-Based Mobile Control and Monitoring of CNC Machines for Development of u-Machine

This study was an attempt to control and monitor Computerized Numerical Controller (CNC) machines anywhere and anytime for the development of a ubiquitous machine (u-machine). With a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) phone, the machine status and machining data of CNC machines can be monitored in wired and wireless environments, including the environments of IMT2000 and Wireless LAN. Moreover, CNC machines can be controlled anywhere and anytime. The concept of the anywhere-anytime controlling and monitoring of a manufacturing system was implemented in this study for the purpose of u-manufacturing and u-machines. In this concept, the communication between the CNC controller and the PDA phone was successfully performed anywhere and anytime for the real-time monitoring and control of CNC machines. In addition, the interface between the CNC controller and the developed application module was implemented by Object linking and embedding for Process Control (OPC) and shared CNC memory. For communication, the design of a server contents module within the target CNC was based on a TCP/IP. Furthermore, the client contents module within the PDA phone was designed with the aid of embedded c++ programming for mobile communication. For the interface, the monitoring data, such as the machine status, the machine running state, the name of the Numerical Control (NC) program, the alarm and the position of the stage axes, were acquired in real time from real machines with the aid of the OPC method and by sharing the CNC memory. The control data, such as the start, hold, emergency stop, reserved start and reserved stop, were also applied to the CNC domain of the real machine. CNC machines can therefore be controlled and monitored in real time, anywhere and anytime. Moreover, prompt notification from CNC machines to mobile phones, including cellular phones and PDA phones, can be automatically realized in emergencies.

While many methods have been proposed for creating mobile applications, developers have struggled to decide which is best. This study contrasts native and cross-platform application development methodologies, paying special attention to the growing popularity of Flutter and the trend away from Java in favor of Kotlin. Using Java, Kotlin, and Dart (Flutter) to create identical applications, this research provides useful insights into factors influencing developers' choice of programming languages and frameworks in mobile application development. In addition, this research investigates development best practices by analyzing the quality of the code in 45 public GitHub repositories. The study measures the impact of choosing a particular language or framework on code smells and development efficiency by evaluating LOC and code smells using semi-automated SonarQube assessments, which include the measurement of severity levels. Preliminary findings show differences in the code quality produced by the two approaches, offering developers useful information on reducing code smells and improving project quality.

In this study compares and contrasts two platforms, iOS and Android Devices, and discusses how to apply the MVC Framework in order to minimize the inherent differences between the platforms.
A Study on the Need for a Mobile Application Development Educational Program using an Authoring Tool KCI 등재

초중고교에서 스마트IT 기술에 대한 논리적 소프트웨어 교육의 수월성을 확보하기 위하여 저작도구를 사용하여 모바일앱 콘텐츠 제작을 수행하는 과정에 대한 정규 교육과정의 도입여부를 판단하는 연구를 진행하였다. 연구방법으로는 5차례에 걸쳐 전국에 분포된 특성화고등학교 교사를 대상으로, 3차례에 걸쳐 전국 초중등학교 교사와 일반고교 교사를 대상으로 교육을 실시하고 만족도 조사를 하였다. 만족이상이 평균하여 91.4%로 조사된바, 본 연구조사가 매우 적절한 것으로 판단된다. 결론적으로 초중고교에서 저작도구를 이용한 앱 개발 교육프로그램 도입은 필연적이라 할 수 있는 것으로 판단되어지며 국가기술자격 종목 신설에 대한 요구도도 높아지고 있다.
To ensure excellence in logical software education for smart IT technologies in schools, the study was conducted to determine whether a course on mobile application (app) content creation using an app authoring tool can be introduced as a part of the regular curriculum. As an approach method, five sessions of related training for characterized high school teachers as well as three sessions for elementary, middle and general high school teachers nationwide and a satisfaction survey were conducted for a total of five surveys. The average of 91.4% for more than moderately satisfied' is judged to reflect the perception of a highly successful study. In conclusion, the introduction of an app development education program using an authoring tool in schools is considered essential, and furthermore, the need for establishing new national technical qualifications is still rising.

본 연구는, 기존의 저비용 모바일 게임개발 사례를 근간으로, 3명의 개발인원, 4개월의 개발기간이라는 연구의 지향점을 두고 진행된 분석연구로, 소규모, 단기간 조건하에서 게임제작에 필수적인 업무 간 협업과정을 단계별로 기 록, 효율적 게임개발의 필수요소들을 검증하였다. 선행연구로 개발인원의 업무적 책임역량을 이론적으로 고찰한 후, 본문에서 단기간 제작사례를 바탕으로 제작자의 입장에서 효과적인 제작 과정을 분석, 과정상의 핵심요소를 제시하고, 사용성 검증을 위하여 개발자들의 피드백을 추가적으로 첨부함으로서, 소규모 인원에 의한 단기간 게임개발의 장, 단점 및 보완사항이 연구결과로 제시되었다는 점에서, 본 연구가 소규모 개발사에게 좋은 가이드라인이 될 것으로 판단된다.
This study is an analytical case study focusing on ‘low-budget’ mobile game development centered on both short-term development and small-scale collaboration. This study set up the assumption of four months as development period limited by three developers along with step by step productional documentation. In the previous study, we set up the responsibilities of the development personnels to analyze the effective process of the practical production. Furthermore, the study analyzed the usability verification of both advantages and disadvantages for conducting the quantitative survey with developer's feedbacks. The study is to provide the essential guideline for ‘low-budget’ development group with effective pipeline.
Development of Android-Mobile Application Software in Teaching Web System and Technologies

The major concern of the study was to develop android - mobile application software for teaching web systems and technologies for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students of the College of Information & Communications Technology of Bulacan State University. It made use Instructional System Design (ISD) model, which consists of five phases: (1) analysis; (2) design; (3) development; (4) implementation; and (5) evaluation and revision. The topics included in the courseware were based on the scope of the course syllabus of IT393 - Web Systems and Technologies, enabling the students to learn principles of the subject in unique approach with seven conceptualized units. Significantly, the AMAS has the following advantages: (1) Learner Control; (2) Motivation; (3) Increased interaction; (4) Individualization; (5) Lesson Integrity; (6) Immediate feedback; and (7) Ease of record keeping. Its acceptability was assessed in five dimensions: (1) subject matter content; (2) Readability; (3) Instructional design; (4) Software Operation; and (5) Usability. Moreover, considering the advantages of the software and the acceptability of the android - mobile application software approach, it was recommended that this new mode of instruction be implemented in teaching web systems and technologies.
A Classification of Car-related Mobile Apps : For App Development from a Convergence Perspective KCI 등재

다수의 앱 개발업체가 사업에 어려움을 겪고 있는 상황에서 수익을 높일 수 있는 분야로 본 연구에서는 자 동차용 앱을 선정하고, 자동차를 운전하거나 관리하는 용도로 쓰이는 모바일 앱을 분석하여 분류하였다. 총 697개의 자동차용 앱(애플의 앱 스토어에서 273개와 구글 플레이 스토어에서 424개)을 분류한 결과 8개 집단으로 나뉘었는 데, 대부분 차량 뉴스 및 정보(28%), 위치 서비스(23%), 대여 서비스(15%), 안전/효율 운전(12%) 집단에 속하였다. 나머지는 매매, 운전자 소통, 유지보수 관리, 경비 관리용 이었다. 하지만, 다수의 앱들이 주 기능면에서 너무 비슷한 경우가 많았고, 단지 소수의 앱만이 둘 이상의 집단에 속할 만큼 다양한 기능을 제공하고 있었다. 분류 체계의 실용 성을 높이기 위하여 분류자간 신뢰성 검사를 두 번에 걸쳐 실시한 결과 Cohen's Kappa 값이 0.886과 0.828로 수용 할 만한 수준이었다. 본 연구의 결과는 자동차용 앱 개발업체가 기존 앱이 제공하지 않는 기능을 발굴내거나 다기능 을 복합한 앱을 개발하는데 유용할 것이며, 향후 유망 앱을 찾기 위한 방안을 연구할 필요가 있다.
This study selected car-related mobile apps for app developers suffering from low revenue and classified car apps assisting users in driving or managing a car. A total of 697 car apps were classified into eight categories. Most apps are in four categories: car news & information (28%), locating service (23%), car rental service (15%), safe/efficient driving service (12%). The remaining categories are buying & selling, driver’s communication, maintenance management, and expenses monitoring. Many apps are simple and too similar in their main functions. Only a few apps are designed to be more comprehensive and have functions in two or more categories. For the practicality of the categorization scheme, this study checked the inter-rater reliability in two tests and got 0.886 and 0.828. The result from this study suggests functions that are not implemented yet or need to be combined. Future research will focus on identifying promising car apps or designing multi-functional car apps.

차세대 이동통신 관련 경쟁기업의 기술적 역량분석을 위해 특허정보 분석을 실시하였다. 특허정보의 분석 방법으로는 출원인 분석, 기술분류 분석, 지표분석 등 여러 분석방법을 활용하였다. 경쟁기업의 기술적 역량분석 1단 계로 특허활동도(Patent Activity:PA)가 높은 출원인을 선별하였고, 2단계로 기술자립도(Technological Independence:TI) 가 높은 기술분류를 선별하였다. 그리고 1단계와 2단계 결과를 매칭하여 특허활동도가 높은 주요 출원인 중에서 기술 자립도가 높은 기술분류에 대한 포트폴리오를 작성하였다. 이와 같은 과정을 통해 경쟁기업간에 집중적으로 연구되고 있는 중요 기술 포트폴리오를 분석할 수 있다. 이 분석 결과는 기업의 R&D계획, 특허전략 수립 등 전략적 R&D 관 리 수행을 돕는 역할을 할 것이다.
Patent information analysis has been carried out for technological capability analysis of competitors relating to next generation mobile communication. Various analysis methods, such as applicant analysis, technology classification analysis, indicator analysis and the like have been utilized as a method of analyzing patent information. As a first step for the technological capability analysis of competitors, applicants having high patent activity(PA) were selected, and as a second step therefor, technology classifications showing high technological independence (TI) were selected. Furthermore, portfolios for technology classifications showing high technological independence in the patents of main applicants having high patent activity by matching results the first and second steps together were prepared. Through such a process, portfolios for important technologies which have been concentrically researched by competitors could be analyzed. Accordingly, the present analysis results will help to carry out strategic R&D management, such as the establishment of company R&D plans and patent strategies.

Purpose : This study aimed to develop a Nursing Education Mobile Application (NEMA) to enable shift-working nurses to engage in self-directed learning without temporal and spatial constraints, and to verify its effects on confidence in core nursing skill performance and learning satisfaction. Methods : A randomized controlled pre–post tests design was used with 64 shift nurses from a tertiary hospital in Seoul, Korea (34 experimental, 30 control). The experimental group used the NEMA app for six weeks, while the control group studied written educational material. The data were analyzed using t-tests. Results : After self-learning with the app, the experimental group scores increased by an average of 0.58 points in confidence in core nursing skill performance, compared with 0.21 points in the control group. This difference was significant (t=2.35, p=.022). Learning satisfaction also increased more significantly in the experimental group (0.54 points) than in the control group (0.10 points) (t=2.37, p=.021). Conclusion : NEMA significantly improved confidence in core nursing skill performance and learning satisfaction among shift-working nurses. Mobile-based education, with its anytime–anywhere accessibility and self-directed learning features, can effectively supplement traditional methods. Further studies should examine its application in diverse settings and long-term effects on clinical performance.

현재 전통시장 모바일앱 현황은 아직 디지털화에 소극적이며, 모바일 앱을 활용한 제공 서비스가 한정적이다. 본 연구는 디지털 전환, 전통시장의 경쟁력을 강화하고, 더 많은 소비자가 전통시장을 찾아 지역 경제를 활성 화하여 이를 극복할 수 있는 클라우드 기반의 모바일 플랫폼을 제안하고자 한다. 이러한 연구를 진행하며 특 성상 시장의 현재 상황과 문제점을 파악하며 클라우드 및 모바일 기술이 특정 시장에 미치는 영향 및 기회 분석을 본 연구에서는 실증/상용화하여 서울시 “공릉동 도깨비시장”을 연구 분석하였다. 또한 클라우드 기반의 스마트 전통시장 모바일 플랫폼 프로토타입을 구현하였다.
Currently, the current status of mobile apps in traditional markets is still passive in digitalization, and services provided using mobile apps are limited. This study aims to propose a cloud platform-based mobile platform that can overcome digital transformation, strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets, and revitalize the local economy by more consumers visiting traditional markets. This study identified the current situation and problems of the market due to its characteristics, and analyzed the impact and opportunities of cloud and mobile technology on the characteristic market. It also implemented a cloud-based smart traditional market mobile platform prototype. The platform combines the advantages of traditional markets with digital benefits to deliver value to all users, social, industrial, I hope it will be of great help on the social side.
