The boundaries in architecture plays the important role, especially as the transition or boundary between internal and external architecture and between cities rather than the object of simple image manipulation. The boundary was recognized as additional factors, but it has been newly appreciated nowadays. What we have to b interested in is to explain the concepts through the process appropriately linking the relations of each space on the bias of reevaluated boundary. This study aims to progressively introduce these concepts in actual design processes and so to suggest the results by architectural methods in spaces.

Factor in global warming, environmental pollution, such as fear of black out, interest in energy-saving and low-carbon green growth is rapidly increasing worldwide. In developed countries, including Europe, the U.S., and has implemented daylight saving time as one of the measures for energy saving. The daylight saving time, by the time one hasten the standard time in the summer months to slow the sun floating immediately, you have carried out over 1948-60, 1987-88 twice in Japan. Implementation is carried out in the country of ice other than unnecessary to Midnight Sun and South Korea and Japan in Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 30 countries, daylight savings time, including (27 countries), the United States, Canada ㆍ Brazil ㆍ Australia EU is being conducted in 86 countries around the world. Therefore, in this study, if you want to apply the daylight saving time, to analyze the effect on the energy consumption of buildings, to explore the architecture energy saving measures.

The purpose of this study is seek to the modern changes of dwelling private spaces and public space on the Fu-long-cun village in China. Our research team had been to the field for three times. And than we had drawn of the village map on the state of 1993 and 2013, now. Through the comparison and analysis on the two maps, we can reveal to the transformation and characteristics of the Fu-long-cun village in the period of Modern age on China. And we hae the conclude as follows: It can to be three periodical characteristics on the change of Fu-long-cun village: those are the early 20th in the dynasty of Chung, and the modern houses of the middle 20th on the influence western culture, and the last contemporary Houses in the recently.

Recently, people’s attention about architecture is expanding to environment and history as well as modern function. It have come to research progress to combine traditional architectural elements of eco-friendly with modern architecture. But Jeju has not yet occurred. So, in this paper was researched on chronological architectural features and change in Jeju houses to analyze the architectural elements that able to combine with modern architectural elements. This research is comprised of traditional house and 1970s, 2000s house. Also, the data is collected by field survey, reviews preceding research. Therefore, this paper compare with architectural features according to chronological flow and analyze to changes element.

The church architecture, building as well as the role of the religious community, social role to accommodate, rather than a simple religious facility, is in the process of being migrated to the community center complex. In this study, it is an object of the present invention as part of the social role of religion, is to provide a place where you can religious life and civil life is a natural harmony. Have a purpose as a concept design, by introducing the concept of continuity, to connect the building space city boundaries are ambiguous.

The background of this study was starting from the question about to try to explore nature and form of the building. On this account selected the Louis Kahn, the purpose of this study to explore Kahn’s Architecture formed by based on what philosophical background. John Lobell’s <Between Silence and light>, he prove Existentialism and Taoism were related Kahn’s philosophy. Then we studied Existentialism and Taoism to relate to Kahn. After that we choose Salke Institute, Kimbell museum and then analyzed that. Finally Kahn’s architecture appeared eternity life of buildings.

The purpose of this study is to prove the creativity of Lissitzky who is important person on research of Russian Modern Architecture. Generally, many research is emphasizing the influence of Russian Modern Artist as Malevich and Tatlin form the creation of 'Proun' which is representative of Lissizky's works. According to the result of study, Lissizky was strongly influenced 'Icon' which is the Russian religion arts before the influence of Russian Modern artist, and Lissizky was being created inventive works unlike them. Thus Lissizky's 'Proun' is original works by himself.

The purpose of this study was exploring the characteristics of present streetscape focused on the change from vernacular streetscape in Jeju rural villages. The toolkit suggested in this thesis is a system to survey Jeju villages' present streetscape and to measure how the present streetscape has changed from the vernacular. The results of this thesis could be interpreted in two ways. First, the present streetscape is meaningful in that the vernacular streetscape's still remained partially. The second is that the present streetscape has certain values an end in itself as new streetscape of rural villages in Jeju.

The study is concerning to the traditional architectural characteristics of the Bu-Yong-Chon(芙蓉村) in China since the 14C Chung(靑) Period. Our research team had been to the field three times since 201 2 for research and measure the architectures and outrange of the village. The purpose of this study is as followings. The first, Architectural Characteristics were analysed according to the architectural purpose such as housing, temple, school or any other uses in Bu- Yong-Chon. The second, the Chinese traditional architectural physical and Spacial Characteristics of the Houses were analysed. And than the results of this paper is showing to the architectural comparative meaning between Korea and China in architecture.

Recently, ground source heat pump systems(GSHP) utilizing annualy stable ground temperature for energy saving have been attracted in many buildings. These systems can achieve higher performance of system by supply more efficient heat source to the heat pump than the conventional air-source heat pump system. But, GSHP systems have disadvantage due to increase of initial installation and boring cost. In order to reduce the initial cost, many researches have focused on the energy-pile system using the structure of the building as a heat exchanger. However, there are few studies on the prediction method of heat exchange rate for energy piles. In this study, the prediction method using the ground heat transfer model and ground heat exchanger model has been developed for the energy pile system using steel piles.

Recently, natural disaster repetition rate increases because of climate change. Typhoon and local strong wind damage increases. Collapsing the steeple by typhoon and local gust have caused huge losses of human life and property such as power outage as well as increasing of the risk. However, specified standard and studies on this are insufficient. This study investigated distribution of wind force coefficient on steeple appling basic wind speed of Gwang-ju through wind tunnel experiment. Based on common height (12m standard) of the steeple, this study compared and analyzed wind force coefficient on steeple with various height. As a result, the study can provide useful basic data on wind-resistant design criteria of structures.

This experimental work provides the method to detect damage of four-story steel structure model based on FRF (frequency response function) data collected from impact hammer tests. This method does not require the baseline data at the intact state without damage. The measurements at two states depending on the mass attachment are collected. The collected data are transformed to POM (proper orthogonal mode) and the damage is investigated through the comparison of two POM sets. The experimental work illustrates the validity and applicability of the proposed method.

The base isolation system allowing for the high efficiency energy absorption and the long-period structure with the combinations of elastic isolator and plastic damper is highlighted. Although many related studies are being conducted in S. Korea, fragmentary recognition that decrease in shear force by 2/3 reduction of acceleration as upper-structure is elastic is dominant. But verification of the plastic behavior of upper-structure is necessary in the case of unexpected severe earthquakes. In this study, the design based on energy balance method is conducted and the structural dynamic behavior such as the story damage distribution characteristics is analyzed by response analysis.

In this study, due to the buckling of steel structures in the absence of rapid degradation and consequent strength steel members without causing the destruction of the stable behavior of the proposed method to produce test specimens for the compression tests were performed. The purpose of this study is the development of FLD(Force Limiting Device) to prevent a member buckling for a slender member. Further, the behavior of steel structures with FLD would be stable by high energy absorption capacity.

Since 1970s, the rapid urbanization by Korean economic development causes change of surface roughness and global warming is affecting a rise in typhoons. therefore it is required to improve the basic wind speed map of Korean Building Code 2009 reasonably by applying the recent meterological data. this study shows building basic wind speed map by investigating regional meterological data(1973~2012) and estimating the design wind speed for Daegu-Gyeongbuk Region. thirteen cities is selected in this study for the past thirty years and the wind speed is calibrated by considering effective height of anemometer in hilly areas. we estimated the wind speeds for 100’s years return period including annual maximum, High temperature seasons, Low temperature seasons.

The purpose of this study is to provide the damage detection method on shear building structures by the damage index directly induced from dynamic equation. The provided damage index could be estimated from measured mode shape of undamaged structure and frequency difference between undamaged and damaged structure. The damage detection method is applied to numerical analysis model such as MATLAB and MIDAS GENw for the verification. The damage index at damaged story represents (-) sign and 15 times than other undamaged stories.

In this study, experimental research was carried out to evaluate the structural performance of the reinforced concrete beam retrofitted by strengthening methods(embedded CFRP rod of hexagon, metal fittings) in existing reinforced concrete buildings. Test results showed that the maximum load carrying capacity of retrofitted specimens(BCR3, BCR3- AC1, BCR3-AC2) were increased by 38%, 63%, and 74% respectively in comparison with the standard specimen BSS.

In this study, experimental research was carried out to improve and evaluate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete beam-column joint using embedded CFRP rod and CFRP sheets in existing reinforced concrete building. Test result shows that retrofitting specimen(LBCJ-CR, CRC) designed by the improvement of seismic performance of reinforced concrete beam-column joints load-carrying capacities were increased 1.78~1.81 times in comparison with the standard specimen.

While the method of construction for modular school building is systemically studied and widely disseminated, The purpose of this study is to improve the structural shortcomings of modular school building including low structure efficiency as mediated with twofold use of structural members and defects in the joint component design of column-beam connection, thereby enabling to develop both economical and eco-friendly technique which might be attributed to the construction of modular house. Furthermore, this study aims to establish and disseminate the fundamental data for the standardization design of modular units, container house, by accumulating technical data.

The magnitude and frequency of earthquake in the Korean Peninsula and adjacencies are increasing, and sudden urbanization raised a possibility of damage in lives and economy. In Korea, buildings constructed from 1970s and early 1990s were designed non-seismic details. There are many studies about seismic retrofit system, but baseline data are in short. This study conducted several static tests to verify seismic performance of the RC frame with non-seismic details and analysed load-deformation relationship, damage condition, and so on using its resultant data.

The strength of bond between the two materials in RC jacketing columns largely depends on the preparation of substrate concrete. This preparation can be described by surface roughness parameters. This paper shows the design procedure of measuring instrumentation for surface roughness of RC structures, and the results of measuring data. These show the necessities and possibilities of the quantifying the surface roughness of RC structures.

In this study, it was developed eco-friendly high performance fiber reinforced cement concrete using ground granulated blast furnace slag, the industrial wastes, and recycled aggregate. As a result of experiments on improvement of performances of eco-friendly buildings utilizing recycled resources (recycled coarse aggregates and ground granulated blast furnace slag), the following conclusions are drawn. As PVA fiber was mixed with the concrete in which the replacement was conducted with recycled coarse aggregates and ground granulated blast furnace slag, the structural performance were increased.

The manually adjustable support structural system with the additional variable joints in the lower columns is presented for the slope variation of solar panels. Also, it is important to select the optimal members considering the safety of the support structure according to the various design variables. Therefore, this study presents the optimal module through the structural modelling and analysis of the adjustable support structures with the design variables.

The purpose of this paper is the investigation on the size effect in reinforced concrete (RC) beams with recycled aggregates. The variables related to shear behavior of RC beams are shear span-to-depth ratio (a/d), depth- to-width ratio (h/b), longitudinal reinforcement ratio (p) and so on. Among the many variables affecting shear behavior, depth-to-width ratio (h/b =1.0, 2.0, 3.0) is selected for the study. A total of three specimens were tested with a simply supported beam subjected to two-point load. In this case, there is no shear reinforcement (i.e., stirrups) for inducing shear failure. Ultimate shear strength was determined by the severe shear cracks. Moreover shear strength is decreased when depth-to- width ratio is increased.

Interests in tall buildings have been steadily increased globally, and so have construction practices. Damping ratio is the most uncertain parameter affecting the dynamic response of the building. Currently, tall buildings are designed based on the assumption that natural frequency and damping ratio have constant values. Most studies on this matter were written based on the results from several specimens or buildings, therefore, there is a lack of studies on buildings with specific dynamic characteristics. Thus, we decided to carry on a study on damping ratio and natural frequency according to RMS of a tall building, based on ambient vibration data collected for one year, on a tall building in Busan Haeundae.
