As life expectancy increases, the number of visitors to libraries is growing very fast and the space of libraries is changing for its visitors. The library has to provide greater places, better indoor condition, thus creating a healthier and more enjoyable atmosphere for its users. The concept of organic continuity in spcae was applied for making comfortable environments. Organic continuity can make different places to become connected with nature. In its natural environment, a learning performance has improved, and energy consumption in library has decreased. Thus, this project is to extract two elements related to organic contimuity and arrange these elements to library. Through the project, it also suggests to design sustainable library.

The purpose of this project is to design a flagship store through an architectural analysis on Issey Miyake’ s fashion design. Issey Miyake created experimental designs on clothing by using unique materials, shapes, patterns. His design is a result of endless struggling about the relationship between human body and clothing. And also, as a result of analysis on Issey Miyake's fashion design, I found the common element that it is a Pleats. This proposal focus on the design of the envelope to present Issey Miyake's fashion design architecturally. This proposal has a meaning that can be applied to a variety of approaches in the design of the Issey Miyake’s flagship store in the future.

A study has been headed for solving the serious problem which is related with college's housing as using a secondhand-container. Therefore, In-ha University, In-cheon is selected for a site, so that this is supposed an economical and eco-friendly dormitory for Uni-students by used containers. The approach of planning is designed through the functional aspect. Within this approach, it is able to solve an architectural applicability through overcoming the physical limitations of container. The Applicability has a character for providing a economical profits and eco-friendly solutions in an existing dormitory. In this study, there has significance because of a new application which is recycled a used container from the temporary residences.

Regeneration of closed schools have been required according to the prospects that the number of small size schools will increase with decreasing the number of school-age child in the recent year. Considering the situation of the rural areas that have lack of the cultural institutions than the urban areas, utilizing closed schools which were the regional centers as the cultural facilities will help to alleviate cultural polarization and activate rural areas. On this study, 'Dumoak, Kim Young Gap Gallery' which was selected for National Truster in 2006 and is being assessed as a good case of utilization as the regional cultural facility was chosen as the case and will figure out the limits and the reason why it could be possible to use as the cultural facility on time series survey.

This article is to suggest a methodology of reading urban/architectural spaces based on the theory of porosity of Walter Benjamin. Above all, Walter Benjamin's perspective on the city through his urban philosophy is examined. It is analyzed that the roles and functions of porosity, which is a key concept of representing the city. Furthermore, we studied how the features of concept of porosity are worked in urban architecture.

In the crisis of destruction of the Gallery of Casa del Agua at Jeju Jungmoon, many people have high attention of this crisis and situation. The Gallery of Casa del Agua is temporary model house of Casa del Agua named Anchor Hotel. In spite of model house, this house has the architectural philosophy of Ricardo Legorreta. The purpose of this study is to explore the architectural philosophy of Ricardo Legorreta in the Gallery of Casa del Agua. This study seeks to the meaning and philosophy of the Gallery of Casa del Agua on the basis of Ricardo Legorreta's architectural languages.

The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of ‘institution’ in Louis I. Kahn’s architecture through the analysis of his archive drawings and words. He had been willing to realize the “Architecture as Institution” which was brought into being by inspirational sources that he came to define as “the inspiration to learn” and “the inspiration to meet”. It was revealed empirically that he realized the concept of institution through the ambulatory or the court in First Unitarian Church and School, Indian Institution of Management, and Phillips Exeter Library. What he tried to insert was that quality which touched the desires of people beyond needs and that which would motivate similar desires on the part of those who may use the building.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the urban contextual characteristics in Architecture of Neo- Rationalism. The architectural works and theories of Neo-Rationalism are mentioned with the background of urban context in 1960’s and interpretation of city and architectures. Neo-Rationalism is on the basis of philosophical, historical, architectural backgrounds. This study is to examine the Architectural of the Jea-Sil in Jeonalbukdo Province The results of this study are as follows: first, Location of the Jea-Sil is mostly found at mountain in back of the village. According to the period, it was built back or inside th village. The location of the houses built of ancestral rites was mostly 二letter type, second, The base was built whit natural stone or ground stones, lay circular footstone on it and The upper structure has the most general structure type of 1 goju and 5 sections and the roof type was Paljak roof. third, The front was made of three to seven rooms, but it was mostly four room structure.
Window of a traditional house Jeju Island has a unique features. Especially Jeju traditional houses that are distinct from the other regions of the wooden doors has a distinct locality. Nevertheless, the traditional house Jeju Island of wooden doors designated as a cultural asset since losing the unique characteristics has changed significantly. Windows as well Jeju Island components of a traditional house to explore the transformation of the primitive and the purpose of this study.

Recently, the severe crack has occurred in upper flat stone of the stylobate of the three-story stone pagoda in Bulguk-sa temple site. This crack can influence on the safety of the total structure. Therefore, this study checks the force flow through the load transfer mechanism and evaluates the structural behaviors through the comparison of analysis results by the load transfer mechanism and discrete element method.

The biggest characteristics of Korean traditional housing are that it has the structure combined by Ondol for heating and floor for cooling in a balance way, those spaces show spatial organization of the whole arrangement by ways among the ground connected mutually and private space is organically related to public space well. However, modern housing lost the traditionalism pursued by traditional housing, private space is related to public space, and became the room, private space of downtown, among the various public spaces. so, the space for not only communication with neighbors but also conversation among the family, traditional housing construction had, is sincerely insufficient. □□ The research was supported by a grant from the Academic Research Program of Korea National University of Transportation in 2012□□
강섬유 보강 콘크리트를 적용한 플랫 플레이트 슬래브-기둥 내부 접합부의 구조성능 평가

In this study, experimental research was carried out to study the hysteretic behavior of flat plate slab- column exterior joints designed by high performance techniques, such as application of reducing of joint regions damage using steel fiber reinforced concrete. Test results showed that specimens(RCFPS series) were increased the maximum load-carrying capacity by 1.12~1.25 times and showed stable hysteresis behavior and satisfactory crack pattern in comparison with the standard specimen(SRCFP).
In that cases of Modern buildings, the use of Lightweight steel floors have been increased due to improve the performance of building materials and development the technology of structural analysis. These Lightweight steel floors occur the floor vibration problem because the dynamic load which are affect the people or facility. Through the this background, A study is needed to reduce the floor vibration which cause serious problems on the usability of buildings. The purpose of this paper is to understand the vibration characteristics of actual lightweight steel floor on a variety of Design Factors and to analyze the results by applying the floor vibration evaluation criteria.
고강도 철근콘크리트 내부 보-기둥 접합부의 고성능 모르타르 및 철근 보강에 따른 내진성능 개선 효과

In this study, experimental research was carried out to improve the seismic performance of reinforced concrete interior beam-column joints using high performance mortar and advanced reinforcing detailings. Test result shows that retrofitting specimens(IJIR, IJIRCS, IJIRCSP) designed by the improvement of earthquake-resistant performance and ductility using high performance mortar and advanced reinforcing detailings could attained more maximum load-carrying capacities and stable hysteretic behavior. The maximum load-carrying capacities of each specimens were increased 1.14~1.22 times in comparison to standard specimen.

Because of active construction of high buildings, high-strength concrete consumption increases every year. Material feature of concrete has creep and drying shrinkage. In this study, creep and drying shrinkage coefficient according to the strength is predicted by material testing data of high strength concrete that was used to actual architecture. In order to conduct the statistical inference of creep and drying shrinkage, the scatter diagram and correlation coefficient are used. In this study, prediction equation such as y=0.3 -6x2 -0.005x = 2.4013 and y=0.0015x2 - 2.6536x = 1722.2 can get through the statistical method.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the structural performance of high strength steel beam-to- column connections. To this end, cycle loading connection test was conducted targeting HSA800 steel being developed in Korea and parameter is connection details. According to the study, The non-scallop detail and improved horizontal rib reinforcement detail used in this study enhanced deformation capacity of high strength steel connections which have brittle tendency by stress relaxation. Also. these details satisfied the requirement specification of Special Moment Frame(SMF) by Korean Building Code.
The high-rise apartment buildings, which have 21st story and more stories, must reinforced special reinforcement detail with special shear wall system in KBC 2009 code. This reinforcement detail is a X shape bundled diagonal reinforcement, and it makes many difficulties in construction stages. The purpose of this study is a state of the art review of coupling beam researches and construction cases.

In this study, the characteristics in story damage distribution of multi-storied structure were analysed conducting dynamic response analyses based on distribution of shear coefficient at yield point worked out from domestic and foreign seismic design codes. The cumulative plastic strain magnifications in every story had been took to evaluate damage. The result of analyses on characteristics in story damage distribution and distribution of shear coefficient at yield point showed considerably correspond tendency so that the analysis on characteristics in story damage distribution using the distribution of shear coefficient at yield point was adjudged to be fairly reliable.

Most of the domestic school buildings built in the 1970-80. This school buildings can cause many problems because they lose their stability and safety more and more. Therefore needs of repairing and rebuilding these old buildings increase recently. however there are not explicit criterion for reconstruction evaluation and these criterion require spending much time and money for reconstruction evaluation. Therefore this study suggest more simple and effective criterion for reconstruction evaluation of school buildings.

To investigate the effectiveness of a tuned liquid column dampers(TLCD) in suppressing wind-induced excitation motion of a building, aeroelastic wind tunnel tests were conducted. A 1:200 scaled model of an aeroelastic tall building was built, and TLCD models of mass ratio of 1.5%, 3% and 4.5%, respectively, were designed and tested with the building model. As such, in this study, after installing TLCD of various types on the top most floor of aeroelastic model that is similar to the actual structure, centered around the interval where the vortex-induced vibration of low wind speed occurs, by conducting aeroelastic model experiment in suburban areas and attain wind-induced vibrations response, we studied the effects of wind vibration control.

The details of the test frames, test instruments, set-up procedures, and test procedures were presented. The column and beam were connected by slit-plate dampers could initiate the plastic deformation during cyclic loading before damage develops in the beam and column. The precast concrete slab was designed releasable. The primary objective of this test was to verify structural performance of full-scale reusable steel frame. Test results confirm that the reusable frame showed stable hysteretic behavior without any serious damage up to a drift angle of 0.03rad.

In this study, experimental research was carried out to evaluate the reinforced performance of the reinforced concrete beam retrofitted by strengthening methods(steel plate, FRP sheet, embedded FRP rod) in existing reinforced concrete buildings. Test results showed that the maximum load carrying capacity of retrofitted specimens(BS30, BCR-1, BCFS) were increased by 14% ~ 35% in comparison with the standard specimen BSS.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate to dynamic response of the isolation structure. The factors of performance effected on the isolation structure are design period and damping ratio. The variables that are the analysis were design period and damping ratio. Using a given variables, non-linear dynamic response analysis was performed by SDOF. The results of period, maximum response displacement and acceleration were analyzed. When the design period was moer than 3.0 sec, the isolation device has effective behavior.

The purpose of this study is to present the damage detection method on shear building structures by mode shape. The damage location index using 1st mode shape is observed theoretically to find out damage location. The damage detection method is applied to numerical analysis model such as MATLAB and MIDAS GENw for the verification. Finally the shacking table test on 3 story shear building is performed for the examination of the damage detection method.
