This study aims to theoretically examine the effects of YouTube-based beauty content on consumer makeup behavior, with a focus on prior domestic research. With the recent expansion of one-person media, beauty YouTubers have emerged as key communication agents who influence consumer decision-making beyond merely providing information. Accordingly, this study systematically reviews the impact of various factors — including characteristics of beauty content (informativeness, entertainment value, and credibility), influencer attributes (authenticity, familiarity, and similarity), as well as parasocial interaction and fandom-on consumer makeup behavior, such as product selection, purchase intention, changes in usage patterns, and word-of-mouth behavior. The results indicate that the informativeness and credibility of content have significant effects on purchase intention and continued usage intention. In addition, influencer attributes influence behavioral intentions through mediating varibles such as attitudes toward content and products. Furthermore, parasocial interaction is identified as a critical factor that affects not only the formation of relationships between consumers and creators but also actual makeup practices. This study is meaningful in that it theoretically clarifies the process by which beauty YouTube content goes beyond simple information delivery to influence consumers, actual makeup behavior.

This study aims to examine the usage patterns of disposable items in beauty shops to strengthen hygiene management, analyze the resulting environmental and economic issues, and suggest directions for sustainable operation. A environmental literature review examining the hygienic necessity and limitations of disposable item usage revealed that while disposable items contribute to preventing cross-contamination and standardizing hygiene, they simultaneously cause problems such as increased waste, resource waste, and higher operating costs. Accordingly, it is necessary to implement the introduction of eco-friendly materials, the use of reusable tools, and the improvement of environmental awareness among operators and consumers in parallel. This study is significant in that it provides foundational data for balancing hygiene and sustainability.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model for faculty innovation in beauty majors based on participatory EdTech and to verify its educational effectiveness through the application of the model in the context of practice-oriented courses. To this end, a course design was constructed that combines quiz-based formative assessment with a class operation structure in which participation, interaction, documentation, and feedback accumulate. This design was applied to the industry-linked Capstone Design course and the AI/VR Scalp Therapy course to collect operational data. Technology acceptance and lecture achievement were measured through pre- and post-tests, while platform activity records, deliverables, and portfolio data were utilized as process indicators to examine the operational patterns and outcomes of the class from various angles. The analysis results showed that learners' perceived technology acceptance and lecture achievement generally tended to increase following the operation of participatory EdTech-based classes. Furthermore, since the direction of change for both variables was observed to be identical before and after the test, it was confirmed that changes in perceptions of technology acceptance and lecture achievement occurred together within the class context. In the analysis of process indicators, the accumulation of participation records and the incorporation of feedback were observed throughout the class operation, and the structure was designed to utilize immediate feedback from formative assessments for checking core concepts and linking to supplementary learning. In addition, portfolio-based operation was found to contribute to the visualization of the learning process, the accumulation of revision history, and the management of the completeness of outputs. This study is significant in that it structured and presented participatory edutech as a teaching and learning innovation model in practice-oriented beauty major classes, and explained the educational effects by combining survey results with process indicators.

Focusing on the necessity of cultivating specialized professionals driven by the high value-added trend of the domestic beauty industry, this study conducted a comparative analysis of beauty-related curricula across six major four-year universities and seven two-year colleges in South Korea. The findings reveal that two-year colleges primarily focus on producing a ready-to-deploy workforce through NCS-based (National Competency Standards), field-oriented practical education. In contrast, four-year universities aim to foster convergent talents by integrating management, science, and pedagogy with practical beauty skills. Furthermore, through a specific case analysis of Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of a hybrid educational model that combines the practical strengths of a two-year college with an intensive bachelor's degree program, ultimately proposing a future direction for beauty education in South Korea.

This study analyzed the characteristics of traditional department stores and focused on the changes observed in department stores opened after 2020. Traditional department stores have evolved by adopting a unifying appearance and efficient interior layout strategies to enhance their corporate image and maximize sales. Strategies such as CI, SI, and VMD have resulted in department stores having similar appearances across different companies, with most stores adopting an enclosed layout and shared spaces having limited significance. Furthermore, an analytical framework was applied to examine the spatial and functional aspects of department stores across different eras and identify common characteristics among companies. Examining four department stores opened after 2020 as case studies revealed significant changes in the spatial configuration of department stores. They have moved away from a unified appearance and adopted unique exteriors. Moreover, they have deviated from efficient interior layouts and incorporated inefficient circulation paths and wider corridors. These stores have also allocated more than half of thenoperating areas to rest and exhibition spaces, introducing new approaches. As a result, neutral spaces within the department stores now serve various functions such as relaxation, exhibition, experience, and education. This transformation has shifted the focus of department stores from a single purpose of shopping to providing diverse experiences. With changes in exterior and interior configurations and the emergence of new programs, department stores now have the opportunity to establish a sense of place identity that was previously absent in their uniform appearances and layouts.

Business professionals in the beauty industry explored psychological counseling for utilizing artificial intelligence in the Al era and discussed strategies for training to enable such counseling. First, training is required for beauty industry workers to cultivate an attitude and mindset of accepting customers' verbal and non-verbal cues. Second, regarding emotional labor, methods are needed to simultaneously train emotional management, task processing ability, and resilience in the face of work-related incidents, as well as mastery and training in emotional detachment and metacognition. Third is fundamental literacy. Training is necessary to adapt counseling methods for each session or to find common ground based on the level of Korean language and numeracy skills required for communication. Korean language proficiency refers not merely to the ability to write the Korean language, but to the ability to understand, comprehend, and paraphrase most expressions available in any native language. Numeracy, on the other hand, involves training to enhance problem- solving speed and accuracy by simplifying necessary elements and converting them into commonly accepted symbols, whereas Korean language proficiency involves the ability to arrange information based on cause and effect. These two basic competencies have so far been relegated to home education rather than being taught in elementary, middle, high schools, or universities, yet they are essential skills required for entering the workforce. Therefore, if professionals in the structured beauty industry develop the ability to utilize technologies such as artificial intelligence, it will be organically possible to establish sustainable revenue models within the beauty industry.

This stxidy aims to analyze the aesthetic changes in contemporary makeup from a multidimensional perspective and to theoretically examine the paradigm shift from traditional aesthetics to modem aesthetics. The advancement of digital technology and the expansion of social media-centered visual culture have brought structural changes to the perception and expression of human appearance, fundamentally reconstructing the function and meaning of makeup. Whereas makeup was traditionally understood as a technical practice for correcting physical imperfections and achieving an ideal standard of beauty, in contemporary society it has evolved into a symbolic medium for expressing individual identity, emotions, and social relationships. This study conducts a literature review based on theories of traditional aesthetics, postmodern aesthetics, and digital visual culture, and analyzes the structural transformation of contemporary makeup. The findings suggest that contemporary makeup has developed a new aesthetic system characterized by diversity, expressiveness, participation, fluidity, and digital mediation. Furthermore, it indicates that makeup functions not merely as a cosmetic technique but as a form of socio-cultural communication.
