In order to recognize the location of a person or object in indoor environment, many researches have been conducted to solve the problem by applying various signal information and position recognition techniques. The location awareness approach, which has been widely discussed since the introduction of the smartphone, has been widely applied to the general public without any additional equipment, such as Wi-Fi, BLE, acceleration, angular velocity, geomagnetism, altitude And the position is measured by using this method. In this paper, we propose a fingerprinting map construction method for determining the direction of a mobile node.

Block-chain technology is rapidly evolving into ICT technology. In order to write data to a block in a blockchain system, a new block must be created in the lockchain system. However, in order for a new block to be created, it takes time for proof of work.(PoW). During the block generation process, It is impossible to provide a services using the data. IoT devices transmit huge amounts of data in real-time. Therefore, a method that can guarantee real time is needed. In this paper, we propose a real-time guarantee method of distributed database using blockchain to solve the above problem.

With increasing penetration of renewable energies, grid needs more flexibility. HVDC can provide flexibility by control power flow between area that have many flexible resources and that don’t. However, transmission grid have thousands of bus and it is hard to solve and analyse where to place HVDC. In this paper, the method for simplifying the problem of optimal HVDC placement is proposed.

In this paper, Coupling factor K for various non-uniform magnetic field sources are calculated, and several equivalent human models are used to confirm the suitability of exposure assessment for MRI-based model.

The General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) was adopted on 14 April 2016, and became enforceable beginning 25 May 2018. GDPR is compared with existing Data Protection Directive, stronger and uniform regulations are possible. In particular, it is expected to have a impact on Smart Grid industry, which uses vast amounts of data. This paper examines how the GDPR affects the smart grid industry and describes its economic impact using the Gordon & Lob model.

The reform of the legal system in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution is a very difficult task. This is because the policy of the government aiming at the creation of employment and the purpose of the corporation (capital) seeking to maximize profit is fundamentally different. Smart City is one of the means of the fourth industrial revolution that companies and governments have found. In Smart City, there are also conflicts of stakeholders in the 4th Industrial Revolution, and opinions of city stakeholders. Moreover, it is a complex and difficult task to find ways to improve the legal system for smart city by overlapping the fusion of technologies in the city. Nevertheless, we must improve the smart city legislation based on the laws governing local government affairs. In addition, the legal system should be studied focusing on the local government work in the laws operated by the central government. In this difficult situation, we will evaluate the direction of the improvement of the legal system through the improvement cases of the smart parking lot ordinance.

Renewable energy policy have had a great influence on power industry in terms of energy mix and energy market environment. However, due to its output variability and uncertainty, power system operation has become more complicated. Specifically, Microgrid that procures its generation capacity mostly from renewable energy resources faces the financial and operational volatility. Thus, this paper suggests a contract between main-grid and Microgrid and the optimal scheduling of Microgrid resources based on the contract. Numerical simulations on a test Microgrid exhibit the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

Most current mobile games adopt F2P revenue model. In F2P game, in-game campaign such as event or update is important in increasing the revenue, and it usually generates environmental change. Once the actual effect of this change on players is measured, it can be helpful to plan future campaigns. In this paper, we propose the method to evaluate the effect of conducted campaign, using behavioral sequence data of users.

In this paper, we propose a noble method of detecting abnormal events for intelligent CCTV service. The method detects the object asynchronously by using object classification and bounding-box estimation, which are based on a light-weight CNN model. To analyze the abnormal events, we categorized four human-related events (loitering, intrusion, abandoned object, and violence) that are classified by time series data analysis. Experimental results showed that the average accuracy of the event detection is 95.8%. We expect that the proposed method can be applied to a real-time commercial intelligent CCTV service.

The reality is that even though smart glasses is being sold as a product, it is not becoming popular. Smart glasses-based services to support police activities have been modelled using the focus group interview. While wearable devices such as smart glasses are expected to expand and form a large market in the future, it is possible to apply them to domestic policing sites from a leading perspective.

In order to efficiently provide various media contents of IPTV to users, we proposed ‘hybrid personalized media contents curation system’ through the various processing steps for organizing the media contents. In addition, The proposed methodology has five processing steps : content modeling module, log analysis based user profile generation module, candidate set generation module for organizing the media contents, post-processing modules such as ranking/filtering. Finally, to demonstrate the effectiveness of this system, we conducted a quantitative evaluation such as ‘watch ratio analysis’. The proposed method shows up to 3 times higher page view count as compared with baseline models.

In this study, we discuss the structure and the principle of the speech recognition system which is currently developing. There are two types of speech recognition models: a generation model and an identification model. In the past, a method based on a generation model was used. Specifically, a speech recognition method based on a GMM-HMM model was developed and evolved into a DNN-HMM method in which an deep learrning technique was introduced. Subsequently, the deep neural network technology was applied to the identification model. We explain te CTC method based on the end-to-end model and the RNN method including the attention mechanism as an end-to-end model.

Wireless evolution has come a long way over the last 40 years, starting from a technology-centric all the way to a technology-transparent future, shifting the focus of innovation from components and radio transceiver technologies(e.g., MIMO) to resource allocation and interference management(e.g., CDMA, OFDMA) and to user-centric and device-driven communications, in the “internet of everything.” Wireless communications are expected to dominate everything, everywhere, and transform everyday life, mainly by means of revolutionary fifth-generation(5G) technologies. These are characterized by concepts such as, cell-less architectures, massive spatial processing, tactile response times, big data processing and virtualization. Many groundbreaking technological advances are currently considered as promising enablers for realizing the 5G expectations. To achieve the world’s first commercialization of 5G, mobile communication companies of Korea are preparing or performing dynamic activities including 5G wireless network design. Wireless network analysis and design are very critical processes, because initial network performance and QoS(Quality of Service) of 5G are mainly depend on these. We tried to develop the simulation tool(CellPLAN) for 5G wireless network design referred to 5G pre-New Radio(NR). In this paper, We want to emphasize the importance of Geographic Information System(GIS) in 5G wireless network design. To do this, we listed on the essential information for 5G wireless network design, such as GIS, candidate site information, and propagation model. To focus on the effects of building information(location, shape, height) in 5G wireless network design, we select the sample area and make the possible error intentionally in digital map of CelLPLAN. And we analyzed the difference between original case and error case in the respect of Reference Signal Received Power(RSRP). These works can give a good insight of necessity of one simulation tool to increase reliability and performance in the field of 5G wireless network design and optimization.

The importance of ultra-high field Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been increased rapidly due to advantages of high resolution and signal-to-noise ratio. In this study, the specific absorption rate (SAR) was analyzed in accordance with the conditions of insertion deep brain stimulation (DBS) system and the electromagnetic field controlled by multi-channel coil. Our research demonstrated the method of field control using convex optimization (CVX) from the magnetic field data can be considered as a good strategy to drive the individual parameters of the RF coil to alleviate inhomogeneity of magnetic field and meet SAR standard, and it is much safer for DBS patients.

Performance of the RF coil, the antenna of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, is determined by the intensity of the applied B1 field on the target area. In the case of the human head, the size and shape of the head varies. Hence, in this study, a position-adjustable multi-channel RF coil for 3 Tesla is presented. The proposed RF coil has teeth structure that each coil element of the coil can be adjusted to be closer and be similar with the head shape. We check the B1 field and MR image with a human phantom designed to represent the electrical propoerties of the head to analyze the performance of the proposed RF coil. The result shows that the proposed RF coil will enhance the applied B1 field for better performance.
