John Calvin and Heinrich Bullinger agreed on a common doctrine of the Eucharist in 1549. The《Consensus Tigurinus》brought the unity of the Zwinglian Reformation and that of the Calvinist in Switzerland. This means that the Reformed church became a single entity. But the evaluation of the value of a Reformed Church within Korean churches is yet to be analyzed. This thesis paper deals with a part of this discussion with a reformed historical point of view. In other words, it views the relationship between Calvin and Bullinger based on historical flow and various events and explains their theological and church historical footsteps in an objective manner. Calvin and Bullinger, ever since their first encounter of 1536 in Basel, corresponded 285 times until Calvin’s death in 1564. Moreover, between 1538 and 1549, Calvin visited Zurich 5 times. This shows that they had a good friendship and they were companion who conversed deeply about the debates concerning everything about theology and the church. But there certainly were struggles between Calvin and Bullinger. Because of the difference in understanding the predestination involved in Bolsec conflict, these two had struggled for a long time. But their theology does not differ in its essence. Yet, there is a difference in their method and logical approach. They especially aimed for one reformed church through the common doctrine of the Eucharist. This agreement means the integration, compromise and consensus of the view points from Zwingli, Oekolampadi, Butzer, Muskulus and Farel. In this perspective, one should be cautious in considering Calvin as the only standard of reformed theology. The unity and diversity of theology has co-existed already from the beginning of the reformed church. Calvin and Bullinger were pioneers in the era of religious reformation who united and cooperated for the completion and sustenance of church reformation. They both have committed their whole lives as theologians and pastors.
