When antenna has many design parameter and complicated structure, we spend many time designing antenna and are difficult to design optimum structure. To solve these problem, we propose GA and ES algorithm that is one of stochastic optimization technique. Depending on initial condition, performance of GA and ES are compared throughout 2.45 GHz circular polarization antenna optimum design. GA has lower dependance on initial condition and ES has higher dependance on initial condition.

In this paper, we propose the design and implementation of a novel Home Energy Management System (HEMS), which is comprises of 3 major components; 1) Communication Interface (CI), 2) Energy Management Mechanism (EMM), and 3) user interface (UI). TThis paper describes the effect of flywheel installation in Flapping Type Tidal Energy Harvester (FT-TEH) to the main shaft of the generator based on the experimental results. Flywheel system is presented as rotating mass disk-cylinder where the disk center is coupled to the main shaft of oscillating arm. The experiment is conducted to measure the generated rotational speed and torque through the main shaft with and without flywheel installation. The mathematical model of the flywheel system and simulation are presented to analyze the experiment results.

In this paper, new alignment method is proposed to align signal from crimping process with reference signal. Alignment has very important role when determining the quality of crimp using crimp force monitor (CFM) because it affects crimp parameters calculation. Due to limited time and memory, some part of the signal curve should be chosen to represent the signal in alignment process. Cross correlation and absolute differences summation are tested with several curve range variations to obtain best alignment. Alignment using the falling or right part of the signal curve utilizing absolute differences summation gives the best performance. The proposed method shows bigger and more optimal error when bad crimp is produced, especially when one wire strands cut wire is used.

Gyroscopes applications are widely used for measuring angular velocity and angular rotation of objects. For working of a vibratory gyroscope, it needs to be excited at its resonant frequency. An electronic circuit is necessary to drive gyro vibrating. This circuit is also named oscillation loop. To get best performance of a gyro, the oscillation loop has to drive gyro oscillating at its fixed resonant frequency and maintain gyro's vibration amplitude at prescribed value. That means the oscillation loop has two parts: phase (frequency) control part and amplitude control part. This paper is written to introduce phase locked loop (PLL) technique to design a phase control loop for vibratory gyroscopes, in this case is a hemispherical resonating gyroscope (HRG).

This paper presents a method to design and control a balancing system and it focus on system modelling and PID controller design. In this system, signals from sensor is being fed to the PID. The proposed PID controller has used to maintain the balancing system at equilibrium. The balancing system has made by means of the single chip Atmega128 microcontroller. Simulations and experimental were performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller system in term of stability, balance and response. Through the simulation research and experiments, it is shown that one direction to development controls the quad-copter.

There have been many studies to develop the actuators with small size and fast response using the smart materials. To control the smart actuator, we need also smaller and lighter controller system. However conventional micro-controllers are not equipped with analog part and thus the control system becomes bulky compared with the small size of the smart devices. To overcome these weaknesses, we are developing one-chip micro-controller that can handle analog and digital signals simultaneously using mixed signal FPGA technology. In this paper we introduce the design of single chip controller using mixed signal FPGA device. To check its performance, we implemented a PI controller for power driving circuit in the FPGA fabric. Through experiment, it was demonstrated that the controller designed for the feedback control works well in realistic environments.

Having recognized the potential of the mobile data service as a new source of profit, Many mobile telecom operators have been trying hard to come up with new technological standards strategies to gain a competitive edge. This paper reviews the current status of the 4G technology and analyzes the service standardization strategies from the viewpoint of technological evolutions. This paper also suggests implications for Korea’s specific circumstances where different mobile telecom technologies complement and compete with one another. In this paper, a transceiver of VLC (Visible Light Communication) using LED white lighting has been implemented. In order to get a high data rate, we found variables considered. In addition, we fixed the bandwidth and found optimal gain according to the distance between transmit and receiver. We showed the data rate of 4Mbps with a QAM in real visible indoor channels.

CR(Cognitive Radio) technology is maximized frequency resource efficiency using unused frequency band. Conventional cooperative spectrum sensing system has threshold based on fixed false alarms. We proposed new system model. The system model is analyzed by setting the false alarm through CSI(channel state information) to get resonable threshold. Simulation results show improvement of detection probability.

This paper describes about designing process and simulation results of the corrugated waveguide for an uniform electric field distribution. Characteristics of waveguide are as follows: frequency is 2,45Ghz, total length is 1178mm, and diameter is 70mm. We have been used corrugate structure to generate circular waveguide on the uniform field distribution. Since the plasma inside waveguide is very lossy (losstangent=0.032), electromagnetic wave inside waveguide is gradually attenuates and becomes non- uniformed. In order to fill the attenuated power we made a design for creating uniform electric field and power distribution by setting coaxial line feed that is in 1 distance in between. Moreover, we made a 4mm gap in order for atmospheric pressure to enter the corrugated waveguide. We checked electromagnetic field and power distribution by simulating the corrugated waveguide in CST Microwave studio EM, and we have a comparatively uniformed result. Lastly, we demonstrated results of power density for a compared 1D graphics

In this paper, we propose the robust spectrum sensing based on switching diversity to satisfy high detection probability. We apply for switching diversity between N antennas diversity scheme and N antennas time delay diversity scheme. Switching diversity solves problems that system complexity cost and assures fixed detection probability. System model is proposed and simulated. Simulation results show high performance.

This paper proposes a method for reducing the reflected wave of the curved surface aluminum plate. We use a dual-polarized probe in order to reduce the reflected wave even if the incident electromagnetic wave has random polarization. When the external RF signal incident on th curved surface aluminum plate, the probe receives the RF signal. And then the cancellation system which is connected with the probe amplifies that signal and shifts phase for destructive interference. We performed the simulation using EM simulator and calculated the required gain and phase using MATLAB. So we confirmed that the reflected wave is reduced for random polarization.

In this paper, we introduce a concept of HEMP systems and analyze a shielding effectiveness by varying placements of the antenna elements. In order to investigate the effects of electromagnetic attenuations, a shielding room was constructed and employed to obtain measured data. The results of the paper can be applicable to design of concrete structures and the actual main protection facilities.

A 16 channel LED driver IC has been developed for Full color LED display system. the 16 channel driver IC consists of constant current regulator function and channel control function. The basic building circuit of the constant current regulator are differential pair, current mirror, negative feedback loop. It use for drawing current independent of temperature and supply voltage. LED brightness is correctly controlled by Dot correction and PWM(Pulse Width Modulation). A real-time monitoring of IC temperature (120°C/160°C) and LED status (open/short) is provided by LED driver IC and the user can receive warning and get information on problems. A 16 channel LED driver IC for full color LED display is produced using 0.35um BCD process and the size is 2.5mm x 2.5mm.

Wi-Fi fingerprinting system is a very popular positioning method used in indoor spaces. However, the Wi-Fi RSS is changeable by multipath fading effect and interference due to walls, obstacles and people. Therefore, the Wi-Fi fingerprinting system produces low position accuracy. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a LED fingerprinting system for accurate indoor positioning. The proposed system uses a received optical power from LEDs and LED-Identification (LED-ID) instead of the Wi-Fi RSS. We show that our technique performs in terms of CDF by computer simulation results. From simulation results, the proposed system shows that a positioning accuracy is improved by 8.6 % on average.
