인스타그램 부계정 사용의 심리학적 의미에 관한 탐색적 연구: 온라인 사회적 지지, 자기감시성과 주관적 안녕감을 중심으로

본 연구에서는 인스타그램 부계정 사용과 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지, 자기감시성, 그리고주관적 안녕감의 관계를 살펴보았다. 더 나아가, 자기감시성과 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지의관계를 인스타그램 계정 수가 매개하는지 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 20대 성인을 대상으로온라인 조사 연구를 수행하였으며, 총 396명의 자료를 수집하였다. 분석 결과, 인스타그램계정 수는 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지 및 자기감시성과 정적 상관을 보였으나, 주관적 안녕감과는 유의한 상관을 보이지 않았다. 다음으로, 자기감시성이 인스타그램 부계정 사용에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 자기감시성이 높을수록 부계정을 사용할 확률이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 인스타그램 계정 수는 자기감시성과 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 자기감시성이 높을수록 인스타그램 계정이 많았으며, 많은인스타그램 계정은 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지의 수준을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본연구는 국내에서 최초로 인스타그램 부계정 사용과 지각된 온라인 사회적 지지, 자기감시성및 주관적 안녕감의 관계를 확인하였으며, 자기감시성이 인스타그램 계정 수를 매개로 하여지각된 온라인 사회적 지지로 이어지는지 탐색하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 또한, 온라인 상호작용이 현실 세계와 어떻게 연결되는지 조명했다는 점에서 사회적 의의도 지닌다.

In this study, we investigated the relationship between Finsta use and perceived online social support, self-monitoring, and subjective well-being. Furthermore, we investigated whether the number of Instagram accounts mediates the relationship between self-monitoring and perceived online social support. For this reason, To this end, we conducted an online survey of 396 adults in their 20s. Results indicated that the number of Instagram accounts showed a positive correlation with perceived online social support and self-monitoring, but did not show a significant correlation with subjective well-being. Next, it was found that the higher the level of self-monitoring, the higher the probability of using of Finsta. In addition, the number of Instagram accounts was found to partially mediate the relationship between self-monitoring and perceived online social support. In other words, the higher the self-monitoring was associated with, , the more Instagram accounts were, and many Instagram accounts increased the level of perceived online social support. For the first time in Korea, this study confirmed the relationship between Finsta use and perceived online social support, self-monitoring, and subjective well-being., Also, this study was meaningful because itand explored whether self-monitoring leads to perceived online social support through the number of Instagram accounts. In addition, this studyit has social meaning in that it sheds light on how online interactions are connected to the real world.

Industrial Motors diagnostic equipment is highly dependent on the automation system, so if there are defects in the automation equipment, it can only rely on the operator’s intuitive judgment.To help with intuitive judgment, Park’s Vactor Approach(PVA) represents the current signal as a pattern of circles, so it can tell if a fault occurs when the circle is distorted. However, the failure to judge the degree of distortion of the circle pattern is the basis of the fault, so it will face difficulties. In this paper, in order to compare the faults of PVA, the period of d-axis current of PVA pulsation was mastered, so that two phase differences occurred in the same signal source. Through experiments, it is confirmed that this is a 90 degree cross formation of PVA, which is convenient for judging from the vision that there is no fault, thus helping the operator to make intuitive judgment.

본 연구는 온라인 화장품 광고 맥락에서 기존 연구의 희소성 메시지 유형을 확장하여 차별화한정 희소성 메시지 유형과 수량한정 희소성 메시지 유형으로 나누어 소비자 태도효과에서의 차이를 분석하고, 더 나아가 희소성 메시지 유형에 따른 소비자 태도효과에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 소비자 개인적 특성(personal characteristic) 변인으로 제품 관여도와 자기감시성의 조절효과를 규명하고자 시도되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2(희소성 메시지 유형: 수량한정 vs. 차별화한정) × 2(제품 관여도: 고 vs. 저) × 2(자기감시성: 고 vs. 저)의 혼합요인설계에 의한 실험을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 차별화한정 희소성 메시지가 수량한정 희소성 메시지에 비해 광고태도, 브랜드 태도, 그리고 구매의도에서 더욱 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 희소성 메시지 유형에 따른 소비자 태도효과에서 관여도는 조절역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 희소성 메시지 유형에 따른 소비자 태도효과는 자기감시성 수준에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 소비자가 관여도와 자기감시성의 수준에 따라 희소성 메시지를 유형별로 어떻게 처리하는지를 온라인 화장품 광고 맥락에서 밝힘으로써 관여도와 자기감시성 그리고 화장품 구매 소비자 행동간의 관련성을 심층적으로 이해하기 위한 근거를 마련하였다는데 의의가 있다.

This study explored the influence of scarcity message type on consumer attitude in the context of online cosmetic advertising and identified two moderating variables(i.e. involvement and self-monitoring) within which the scarcity message type effect operates. For the experiment, the 2(scarcity message type: quantity scarcity message vs distinctiveness scarcity message) × 2(product involvement: high vs low) × 2(self-monitering: high vs low) mixed factorial design was used. Results of experimental study showed the difference of consumer attitude according to scarcity message type. Moreover, the effect of scarcity message type was moderated by self-monitoring. Personal characteristics of consumer such as self-monitoring may help explain the observed differences according to scarcity message type.

온라인 구전커뮤니케이션의 형태는 다양하지만 그 중 가장 흔히 볼 수 있는 것은 소비자들이 인터넷에 올리는 사용 후기이다. 최근에는 소비자들이 자유로이 자신의 경험이나 의견을 올리는 사용 후기 정보가 대표적인 온라인 구전커뮤니케이션의 유형으로 자리매김하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 온라인 사용 후기의 방향성과 특성, 즉 온라인 사용 후기 정보의 유형에 따른 사용 후기 효과로서 정보 유용성과 제품태도에 차이가 있는지 살펴보고, 이 때 온라인 브랜드 커뮤니티 유형과 자기 감시성의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 온라인 사용 후기가 정보 유용성에 미치는 영향은 ‘부정적+객관적’ 사용 후기에서 가장 높게 나타났으며, 제품태도에 미치는 영향은 ‘긍정적+객관적’, ‘긍정적+주관적’ 사용 후기일 때 높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 이 두 가지 유형의 사용 후기 간에는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 온라인 브랜드 커뮤니티 유형을 ‘기업 주도형’과 ‘소비자 주도형’으로 분류하여 조절효과를 살펴본 결과 유의한 것으로 나타났으며, 셋째, 자기 감시성에 따른 조절효과는 제품태도에서만 통계적으로 유의한 결과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 마케팅에서의 실무적 시사점과 본 연구의 한계점 그리고 향후 연구에 대해 제안했다.

Recently, the online reviews that the consumers have freely written about their ideas regarding products are being highly recognized as the most popular e-WOM. For this reason, in the study, valence and attributes of online reviews, which are, the other words, effect of the online reviews according to features of the online reviews, were examined. For this, the online brand community type and self-monitoring have been studied first to see if they would actually have an influence on the concerned matter. For the online reviews’ influence, the study investigated information usefulness and product attitude in an aspect of review information acceptance. The followings are the results. First, the online reviews appeared to have the highest influence on the message usefulness from the reviews of negative+objective. The influence on the product attitude was considered to be high with the positive reviews and the reviews of positive+objective and positive+subjective have not significantly. Second, for a research on the online brand community type and the self-monitoring it has been carried out with two different categories which were marketer-generated and consumer-generated. For the information usefulness, the reviews of the negative+objective posted in the consumer-generated online brand community turned out to be most reliable. In terms of the attitudes towards the product, it was learned that the reviews of the positive+objective posted in the marketer-generated community have been highest. Third, to understand self-monitoring, the subjects were divided into a group of high self-monitoring and another group of low self-monitoring. Only the attitudes towards the product has been proved significantly. Based on what has been acquired above, the study proposed practical marketing implications, research limits and suggestions for a follow-up study.

본 연구는 온라인 광고유형 (제품광고와 이미지광고)의 효과에 조절변인으로 영향을 미치는 자기 검색도의 역할을 검증하기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 수도권 소재 160명의 대학생을 대상으로 2 X 2 요인설계로 실험이 실시되었다. 자기 검색도가 낮은 집단은 이미지를 강조하는 온라인 광고 보다는 제품의 특성을 강조하는 온라인 광고에 더 긍정적인 반면에, 자기 검색도가 높은 집단은 제품의 특성을 강조하는 온라인 광고 보다는 이미지를 강조하는 온라인 광고에 더 긍정적으로 반응할 것이라는 가설을 세우고 연구가 진행되었다. 연구결과, 텔레비전과 신문과 같은 전통광고를 대상으로 한 연구결과에 서와 마찬가지로 온라인 광고에서도 가설이 검증되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 온라인광고 크리에이티브 전략과 효과를 제 고할 수 있는 이론적 논의와 실무적 함의를 논의하였다.

This research paper discusses the results of an article on the effects of moderating role of self-monitoring on response to the two different types of online advertising appeals. It was hypothesized that low self-monitors show more positive attitude towards brand when exposing advertisements with product quality-based online advertising than high self-monitors, whereas high self-monitors show more positive attitude towards brand when exposing advertisements with image-based online advertising than low self-monitors. Through an experimental design involving product quality and image-based online advertising, this article demonstrates that the role of self-monitoring in online advertising effects is similar to traditional advertising studies. Based on the results of the study, practical and theoretical suggestions are interpreted in relation to online advertising creative messages and strategies.

환경, 사회, 정치 등의 문제에 대해 소비자들이 의견을 표출하는 방법으로 불매운동이 많이 사용되고 있으며최근에는 온라인을 통해서 불매운동의 힘과 파급력이 더욱더 커지고 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소비자의 온라인 불매운동태도와 의도에 영향을 미치는 변수에 대해 파악하였고 온라인 불매운동의도에 관련변수들이온라인 불매운동태도를 매개로 어떠한 인과관계가 있는지를 알아보았다. 또한 온라인 불매운동태도와 온라인 불매운동의도의 관계에서 자기감시성의 조절효과에 대해 분석하였다. 연구결과를 보면 첫째, 온라인 불매운동의도에는 온라인 불매운동 용이성, 불매운동 커뮤니티 소속감, 온라인불매운동태도가 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다. 둘째, 온라인 불매운동경험, 사회적 혜택, 소비자시민성 변수는온라인 불매운동태도를 매개로만 온라인불매운동의도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자기감시성이 온라인 불매운동태도와 온라인 불매운동의도 간의 관계를 조절하는 것을 확인하였다. 즉, 소비자의 자기감시성이 높을수록 온라인 불매운동태도가 온라인 불매운동의도로 연결되는데 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것이다. 따라서 대부분소비자들이 불매운동이 바람직하다고 생각하는 사회적인 분위기를 조성한다면 온라인 불매운동에 대해 긍정적으로 생각하는 자기감시성이 높은 소비자들의 온라인 불매운동의도는 더욱더 높아질 것이다.

Boycotts are widely used as a way for consumers to express their opinions on issues such as the environment, society, and politics. In recent years, the power and impact of boycotting has grown much faster than before. In this study, we analyzed the factors affecting consumers' online boycott attitude and online boycott intention. We studied how online boycott-related factors are interconnected each other as a mediator of online boycott attitude. We also analyzed moderating effects of self-monitoring in relation to online boycott attitude and online boycott intentions. The study shows that, first, the online boycott intention, social affiliation, and online boycott attitude were the influencing factors of online boycott intention. Second, three factors (online boycott experience, social benefit, consumer citizenship) influence online boycott intention as a mediator of online boycott attitude. Third, self-monitoring is found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between online boycott attitude and online boycott intentions. In other words, the higher the consumer's self-monitoring ability, the more positive transition from online boycott attitude to online boycott intention. Therefore, if many people see boycotting in a positive way, the self- monitoring consumers who think positively about online boycotting will increase their online boycott intentions.

Research of Farmland Information Online Monitoring System based on Wireless Sensor Network SCOPUS

Wireless sensor networks are the main technical means to realize variables information network monitoring in agricultural environment. In order to solve the problem of low-cost, low-power field information, reliable real-time transmission, a farmland information online monitoring based on wireless sensor network has been designed. The overall structure of the system contains sensing layer, transport layer and application layer, which uses the ZigBee wireless communication technology to build wireless sensor networks. Monitoring data of different farmland regions are transmitted through the GPRS network to the monitoring center securely and reliably. The use of data monitoring center is aimed at collecting data for processing. TI's ultra-low-power micro-controller MSP430F149 and ZIGBEE module CC2530F256 work as the core hardware in the designing of wireless sensor network node. With Z-Stack as the protocol stack, software is designed based on the nodes to achieve a gateway node and terminal node functions. The results gained from a set of network communication system tests, inter-node transmission quality tests and remote transmission tests show that: based on wireless sensor network, the online monitoring system of field information can automatically complete the data acquisition and transmission and with the aid of GPRS / Internet network, the data can be sent to the data server with high stability, high reliability, punctuality, meeting the basic requirements of on-line monitoring of farmland information.

To satisfy the requirements of smart power grids for online monitoring intelligent switchgear cabinets, this paper designed an online monitoring system for mechanical characteristics of circuit breaker with the multi-sensor fusion technology, realized the online monitoring of the characteristics including travel, over travel, speed at instant of contacts separating (touching), switch-off (on) time, bounce times, bouncing time and average speed; the results of field and remote tests showed that the developed monitoring device enabled real time and accurate monitoring of mechanical characteristics of circuit breakers.

In this work a microplate-based bioreactor with an optical online monitoring system (MABOOMS) has been studied for high-throughput screening of microorganisms and medium optimization in biotecnological processes. The MABOOMS has been constructed with a fluorescence sensing system, a 24-well microplate-based bioreactor with sensing membranes for detection of dissolved oxygen (dO2), pH, dissolved carbon dioxide (dCO2) and reflectance (RF), and an automated control system with a microprocessor. The MABOOMS has been used to optimize fermentation media in fermentation processes. A 24-well microtiter plate with sensing membranes for dO2, pH and dCO2, has been employed to online monitor the concentrations of dO2, pH and dCO2 in fermentation processes with E.coli DH5α and B.cereus 318. The trends of the online data agreed with those of the offline data. The MABOOMS was validated to be very useful to online monitor the cell growth characteristics.

In this work a microplate-based bioreactor equipped with the optical online monitoring system(MABOOMS) has been investigated for high-throughput screening of microorganisms and medium optimization in biotecnological processes for online monitoring of optical density (OD). An optical density sensing system has been made with 630 nm LED(light-emitting diode) and PMT(photomultiplier tube). It has been used to detect the reflect light intensity of a culture medium in 24-well microplate. A 24-well microplate has been employed to online monitor the optical density of fermentation processes with E.coli DH5α and B.cereus 318. The online monitoring data of the optical density have been compared with offline measurement data by using spectrophotometer. The tendency of the online data agreed with offline data, that is, the 24-well microplate based bioreactor was validated to be very useful to online monitor the cell growth characteristics.

Aiming at some problems in the process of UPS battery real-time monitoring, on the basis of the cloud terminal technology is proposed in this paper, a new method of remote online monitoring, and based on MSP430 single chip microcomputer, combined with modular guiding ideology, in order to improve the UPS battery remote monitoring automation as the core, through the reasonable design of hardware structure, the implementation of UPS battery on-line real-time monitoring of voltage, current and temperature. At the same time, the system based on ADO database access technology and C++ programming to complete the data management, human-computer interaction, and system control, by the cloud terminal implementation monitoring system data transmission between lower place machine and super-ordination machine. Practice has proved that the technology security and stability, has the very good practical and promotional value.

Research on Milk Conductivity Real-time Online Monitoring System

Bovine mastitis is one of the common diseases in the dairy industry, and is also caused by the loss in the dairy industry. Timely and effective detection of bovine mastitis has important significance. By monitoring the milk conductivity values and other parameters, is to automate the monitoring cow health, is the basis of the prevention of bovine mastitis infection. This design is based single-chip microcomputer processing core control sensor measurement unit, data transmission unit, display and control unit, online monitoring system to achieve real-time data collection, transmission, display and other control functions. For monitoring the conductivity values were piecewise linear model of the relationship between the conductivity and the feedback voltage power function curve model comparison with simulation experiment. Simulation results show that the conductivity measurement piecewise linear model is a better, fitter factor, the average relative error is 2.31% lower, measuring range is 0.7 ms / cm-11.7ms / cm. The error of measuring the overall system is of relative low ratio, but the accuracy is higher, and better meets the needs of real-time monitoring, for cow health management and prevention of bovine mastitis or other diseases provide effective technical means.

One of the biggest drawbacks of online education using virtual environments is that teachers cannot see students' facial expressions. In offline classes, teachers usually observe students' expressions to determine if they are focused or enjoying the lesson, and they can adjust their teaching accordingly. For example, if a teacher notices that students are losing focus, they can slow down the pace of the lesson or tell an interesting story to regain their attention. However, in a virtual environment, it is impossible to see students' expressions, making it difficult to gather any information about them. As a result, instructors may feel like they are teaching in isolation and are unable to appropriately respond to students' reactions. This can easily lead to a lack of interaction between the teacher and students. This issue has already been raised in other studies, and research has been conducted to measure student engagement and attention. However, existing systems typically measure overall engagement for the entire class or represent the data in numbers or graphs, which doesn't provide impactful real-time feedback to the instructor. This study proposes an online education system that visually displays each student's level of engagement and attention in real time to address this issue. The key advantage of this system is that it allows teachers to quickly and intuitively grasp students' reactions and adjust their teaching in real time accordingly.

Dissolved oxygen, pH and cell concentration have been online monitored in cultivation processes with Escherichia coli by using a MABOOMSTM (microplate-based bioreactor with optical online monitoring systems). Fluorescent sensing membranes containing Ru (dpp)3 2+ or HPTS were prepared with GA sol-gel matrix and coated into a well of a 24-well microplate. Fluorescence intensity was measured and correlated to the dissolved oxygen or pH. Cell concentrations were also online monitored by measuring optical reflectance at 650 nm. A well of a 24-well microplate could also be divided into 4 parts, each of which was coated with fluorescent sensing membranes for the detection of dissolved oxygen or pH. The 24-well microplate coated with fluorescent sensing membranes or a 4-divided sensing membrane. was used to online monitor the dissolved oxygen, pH and cell concentration during E. coli cultivations. The online monitoring results showed the characteristics of cell growth in cultivation processes very well.

키넥트 센서 버전 2는 컴퓨터 비전과 엑스 박스와 같은 엔유아이 인터페이스로 마이크로소프트에서 출시한 카메라의 일종이다. 이는 높은 프레임 속도로 컬러 영상과 깊이 영상, 오디오 입력 및 스켈레톤 데이터를 취득 할 수 있다. 이러한 다양한 타입의 데이터 정보를 제공해 주기 때문에 이것은 다른 범위의 연구자들을 위한 리소스가 된다. 본 논문에서는 깊이 이미지를 사용하여 우리는 키넥트 범위내에서 특정 영역을 감시하는 시스템을 제시한다. 타켓 영역은 깊이의 최소, 최대 값의 크기에 따라서 그 공간을 모니터링 할 수 있다. 컴퓨터 비전 라이브러리 (Emgu CV)를 사용해서 만약 어떤 오브젝트가 타겟 영역에서 검출된다면 그것을 추적하고 키넥트 카메라는 RGB 이미지를 데이터베이스 서버에 전송한다. 따라서 안드로이드 플랫폼 기반 모바일 애플리케이션을 통해 키넥트 타켓 지역에서 수상한 움직임이 감지되었음을 사용자에게 통지하고 그 장면의 RGB 영상을 표시하기 위해 개발되었다. 사용자는 모니터링 영역 또는 제한 구역과 관련된 다른 경우에서 가치 있는 물건의 대해 최선의 방법으로 반응하고 실시간 통지를 얻는다.

Kinect sensor version 2 is a kind of camera released by Microsoft as a computer vision and a natural user interface for game consoles like Xbox one. It allows acquiring color images, depth images, audio input and skeletal data with a high frame rate. In this paper, using depth image, we present a surveillance system of a certain area within Kinect's field of view. With computer vision library(Emgu CV), if an object is detected in the target area, it is tracked and kinect camera takes RGB image to send it in database server. Therefore, a mobile application on android platform was developed in order to notify the user that Kinect has sensed strange motion in the target region and display the RGB image of the scene. User gets the notification in real-time to react in the best way in the case of valuable things in monitored area or other cases related to a reserved zone.

Neural Networks have been used on line to classify drilling conditions into three categories: safe, caution and danger. This approach allows changing a drill just before failure, a valuable benefit. Drill size, feed rate, spindle speed and other operational features are used as inputs of neural networks. The output of the neural network indicates the drilling condition. An on line drill condition detection system can achieve a success rate over 95%. Numerous values of initial weights, learning rates, and smoothing factors were systematically explored and tested to achieve high reliability.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the united Electromagnetic characteristics for the effective monitoring on the static air-gap eccentricity (SAGE) of turbo-generator. Different from other studies, this paper not only studies on the unbalanced magnetic pull (UMP) and the vibration characteristics of the stator and the rotor, but also investigates the harmonic features of the magnetic flux density and the circulating current inside the parallel branches (CCPB). The theoretical calculation, together with the finite-element-method (FEM) simulation and the experiment verification, is taken for a SDF-9 type non-salient generator. It is shown that, when SAGE occurs, apparent double-frequency UMP and vibrations will be produced both on the stator and the rotor, while the CCPB will have an obvious increment at the $1^{st}$ harmonic component. In addition, the amplitude of the magnetic flux density will be of cosine distribution in the circumferential position of the air-gap, while in normal condition it is a constant. Moreover, the pass-band amplitude, together with the $1^{st}$ harmonic of the magnetic flux density, will be enlarged as well. These united electromagnetic characteristics can be used as the diagnosis and monitoring criterion for SAGE.

This paper presents a low-cost prototype for monitoring online the maximum power produced by a domestic photovoltaic (PV) system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The most common tracking algorithms (P&O, InCond, HC, VSS InCond, and FL) were first simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and then implemented in a low-cost microcontroller (Arduino). The current, voltage, load current, load voltage, power at the maximum power point, duty cycle, module temperature, and in-plane solar irradiance are monitored. Using IoT technology, users can check in real time the change in power produced by their installation anywhere and anytime without additional effort or cost. The designed prototype is suitable for domestic PV applications, particularly at remote sites. It can also help users check online whether any abnormality has happened in their system based simply on the variation in the produced maximum power. Experimental results show that the system performs well. Moreover, the prototype is easy to implement, low in cost, saves time, and minimizes human effort. The developed monitoring system could be extended by integrating fault detection and diagnosis algorithms.

Corrosion of Containment Alloys in Molten Salt Reactors and the Prospect of Online Monitoring

The aim of this review is to communicate some essential knowledge of the underlying mechanism of the corrosion of structural containment alloys during molten salt reactor operation in the context of prospective online monitoring in future MSR installations. The formation of metal halide species and the progression of their concentration in the molten salt do reflect containment corrosion, tracing the depletion of alloying metals at the alloy salt interface will assure safe conditions during reactor operation. Even though the progress of alloying metal halides concentrations in the molten salt do strongly understate actual corrosion rates, their prospective 1<sup>st</sup> order kinetics followed by near-linearly increase is attributed to homogeneous matrix corrosion. The service life of the structural containment alloy is derived from homogeneous matrix corrosion and near-surface void formation but less so from intergranular cracking (IGC) and pitting corrosion. Online monitoring of corrosion species is of particular interest for molten chloride systems since besides the expected formation of chromium chloride species CrCl<sub>2</sub> and CrCl<sub>3</sub>, other metal chloride species such as FeCl<sub>2</sub>, FeCl<sub>3</sub>, MoCl<sub>2</sub>, MnCl<sub>2</sub> and NiCl<sub>2</sub> will form, depending on the selected structural alloy. The metal chloride concentrations should follow, after an incubation period of about 10,000 hours, a linear projection with a positive slope and a steady increase of < 1 ppm per day. During the incubation period, metal concentration show 1<sup>st</sup> order kinetics and increasing linearly with time<sup>1/2</sup>. Ideally, a linear increase reflects homogeneous matrix corrosion, while a sharp increase in the metal chloride concentration could set a warning flag for potential material failure within the projected service life, e.g. as result of intergranular cracking or pitting corrosion. Continuous monitoring of metal chloride concentrations can therefore provide direct information about the mechanism of the ongoing corrosion scenario and offer valuable information for a timely warning of prospective material failure.

In a wireless sensor network (WSN) setting, this paper presents a distributed decision-making framework and illustrates its application in an online structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The objective is to recover a damage severity vector, which identifies, localizes, and quantifies damages in a structure, via distributive and collaborative decision-making among wireless sensors. Observing the fact that damages are generally scarce in a structure, this paper develops a nonlinear 0-norm minimization formulation to recover the sparse damage severity vector, then relaxes it to a linear and distributively tractable one. An optimal algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and a heuristic distributed linear programming (DLP) algorithm are proposed to estimate the damage severity vector distributively. By limiting sensors to exchange information among neighboring sensors, the distributed decision-making algorithms reduce communication costs, thus alleviate the channel interference and prolong the network lifetime. Simulation results in monitoring a steel frame structure prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.
