Over the past decade, the exploration of high-temperature superconductivity and the discovery of a wide range of exotic superconducting states in Fe-based materials have propelled condensed matter physics research to new frontiers. These materials exhibit intriguing phenomena arising from their multiband electronic structure, strongly orbital-dependent effects, extremely small Fermi energy, electronic nematicity, and topological aspects. Among the various factors influencing their superconducting properties, high magnetic fields play a crucial role as a control knob capable of disrupting the subtle balance between the spin, charge, lattice, and orbital degrees of freedom, leading to the emergence of various exotic superconducting states. In this review, we provide an overview of the current understanding of the exotic superconducting states observed in Fe-based superconductors, with a particular focus on FeSe and Sr2VO3FeAs, under the influence of high magnetic fields.

The effect of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) addition on the superconducting property of Bi1.6 Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ ((Bi, Pb)-2223) polycrystalline samples was studied. LSMO (0.3 wt.% to 2.0 wt.%) added (Bi, Pb)-2223 samples were prepared by using a solidstate reaction method. The XRD analyses show that as the LSMO addition increases, the volume fraction of the Bi-2223 phase is gradually decreased. The critical temperature (Tc) exhibits a gradual decrease with a single transition as the LSMO amount increases up to 1.0 wt.%, but a further addition of LSMO induces an abrupt decrease of Tc with a dual transition. The analyses on the local structure of the CuO2 plane from the X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) measurements showed that for the samples with low concentration of LSMO up to 1.0 wt.%, the Cu-O bond length and the CuO2 plane ordering do not degrade from the values of pure (Bi, Pb)-2223, while they get worsen with a further increase of LSMO addition. These results open up the possibility of LSMO as artificial pinning centers of the (Bi, Pb)-2223 system for power application.

High-TC superconductivity (HTSC) has been the central issue in the field of condensed matter physics for decades. An essential part of the research on superconductivity is finding new exotic superconductors. It was recently suggested that Ir-substituted La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMIO) is a new high-TC superconductor. However, systematic studies to experimentally verify the superconductivity have not been done. Here, we report the growth processes of LSMIO thin films and their electrical transport properties. We observed a clear negative correlation between the intensity of the laser utilized for film deposition and the Curie temperature of the deposited film. We attributed this effect to the suppression of Sr concentration in the LSMIO films as the laser intensity increased. However, our LSMIO films show conventional ferromagnetism instead of HTSC. To realize the HTSC in LSMIO systems, further exploration of diverse compositions of LSMIO compounds is essential.

Superconducting layers deposited on the metal substrate using the pulsed laser deposition process (PLD) play a crucial role in exploring new applications of superconducting wires and enhancing the performance of superconducting devices. In order to improve the superconducting property and increase the throughput of superconducting wire fabricated by pulsed laser deposition, high temperature heating device is needed that provides high temperature stability and strong durability in high oxygen partial pressure environments while minimizing performance degradation caused by surface contamination. In this study, new heating device have been developed for PLD process that deposit and growth the superconducting material continuously on substrate using reel-to-reel transportation apparatus. New heating device is designed and fabricated using ironchromium- aluminum wire and alumina tube as a heating element and sheath materials, respectively. Heating temperature of the heater was reached over 850 ℃ under 700 mTorr of oxygen partial pressure and is kept for 5 hours. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the developed heating device system in maintaining a stable and consistent temperature in PLD. These research findings make significant contributions to the exploration of new applications for superconducting materials and the enhancement of superconducting device performance.

Recently, interest in renewable energy such as solar and wind power has increased as an alternative to fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources such as large wind farms require long-distance power transmission because they are located inland or offshore, far from the city where power is required. High-Temperature Superconducting (HTS) power cables have more than 5 times the transmission capacity and less than one-tenth the transmission loss compared to the existing cables of the same size, enabling largecapacity transmission at low voltage. For commercialization of HTS power cables, unmanned operation and long-distance cooling technology of several kilometers is essential, and pressure drop characteristic is important. The cryostat's spiral corrugation tube is easier to bend, but unlike the round tube, the pressure drop cannot be calculated using the Moody chart. In addition, it is more difficult to predict the pressure drop characteristics due to the irregular surface roughness of the binder wound around the cable core. In this paper, a CFD model of a spiral corrugation tube with a core was designed by referring to the water experiments from previous studies. In the four cases geometry, when the surface roughness of the core was 10mm, most errors were 15% and the maximum errors were 23%. These results will be used as a reference for the design of long-distance HTS power cables.
