Purpose: This study is a cross-sectional study to analyse the effects of emotional labour and workplace violence factors on job stress among workers working in a chemical handling workplace. Methods: The data collection was conducted from October to November 2019, and the questionnaire consisted of various variables to assess workers’ general characteristics, emotional labour, workplace violence, and job stress, and a total of 148 workers responded. Results: The Korean Emotional Labour Assessment Instrument, Korean Workplace Violence Assessment Instrument, and Korean Job Stress Assessment Instrument were used to assess emotional labour, and the results of the study were analysed using SPSS/WIN 27.0. The reliability, correlation, and regression analysis of each variable were conducted to determine the effects of emotional labour and workplace violence on job stress. Conclusion: This study investigated the effects of emotional labour and workplace violence on job stress among chemical workers, and found that workplace violence had a greater impact. Therefore, it is recommended that workplaces should manage emotional labour and workplace violence to protect workers’ mental health, and develop working conditions and healthcare programmes to alleviate job stress based on the results of this study.

Purpose: This study is a review paper conducted for the purpose of investigating and explaining serious disasters. Methods: The paper examined data focusing on occupational accidents in Korea over the past 10 years, from 22 to 23. Results: As a result, among deaths by industry, the highest number of worker deaths occurred in the construction industry, and by size, most deaths occurred in workers under 50 people. Conclusion: Rather than worrying excessively about the Serious Accident Punishment Act, workplaces should strive to create a healthy workplace where even accidents caused by worker negligence do not occur through safety and health education and risk assessments.

Purpose: This study analyzes the factors affecting work-related health problems for construction site workers. We intend to contribute to the prevention of occupational damage and the preparation of health care measures for construction workers. Method: This study targeted 2,184 construction site workers among the 50,538 workers who participated in the 6th working environment survey prepared by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute, excluding the self-employed and those with insufficient responses. The collected data are analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0 Program by frequency analysis, percentage, chi-square test, and logistic regression analysis. Results: Factors affecting the work-related health problems of construction workers were found to be smoke in the working environment, inhalation of fumes and dust, work-related stress, and age, employment type, and working environment dissatisfaction when subjective health status was poor. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare measures to reduce exposure to harmful factors and health management measures for each professional engineer in the construction industry, and to provide safety and health support for temporary or daily workers.
