This study analyzes adjacency pairs, sequence organization in the conversation structures of young Korean and Japanese, using similar scenes from remake dramas as a point of focus. 1) In terms of adjacency pairs, Korean used 63 more adjacency pairs than Japanese. Korean tended to use adjacency pairs that frankly express their own thoughts and feelings, whereas Japanese tended to use adjacency pairs that show understanding and respond supportively to the speaker’s utterance. 2) With regard to response formats, differences were observed in confession scenes involving young Korean and Japanese. When the man confessed to the woman, Korean men tended to express their emotions more openly, whereas Japanese men tended to convey their confession with a single phrase, such as “I like you.” In contrast, when the woman confessed to the man, Korean women responded in a question-and-answer format, while Japanese women were observed to share the timing and situation of the confession with the other person. 3) As for sequence organization, Korean tended to use pre-sequences as a prerequisite for transitioning to the main sequence, and to employ post-sequences when there was a desire to continue the interaction due to lingering feelings. Japanese, on the other hand, tended to use insertion sequences as a conversational structure in which unrelated dialogue was inserted between the two speakers either to bring the interaction to a quick close or to insert a separate exchange mid-conversation, such as asking how the other person was doing or reaffirming feelings.

本稿では、韓日リメイクドラマの類似した場面における若者会話構造として隣接対と連鎖組織の様相を分析し、これらがどのような内容を表現しているのかを考察したものである。その結果は以下の通りである。 1) 韓日隣接対では、韓国が日本より63個多い結果となった。 韓国の場合、自分の思いや感情を率直に表現している発話が用いられるのに対し、日本の場合、話者の発話に対してその通りに理解し呼応している発話が現れている傾向があった。 2) 韓日応答形式では、韓日若者の間に告白する場面で違いがあった。 男が女に告白する場面では、韓国の男は女に自分の気持や感情を次々と表面的に現れているのに対し、日本の男は女にためらいながら突然、「好きだ」という一言で表現してしまう傾向があった。 次に、女が男に告白する場面では、韓国の女は男に好きな気持に対して何の説明もせずに問答的な応答をしているのに対し、日本の女は男が知っている周りの人物を言及し視点や状況を共有しながら告白していることが分かった。 3) 韓日連鎖組織では、韓国の場合、本題となる連鎖の進むために前提条件として前方連鎖が用いられ、相手と何か話しを続けたい気持がある場合、「呼びかけ」という発話行為が用いられて後方連鎖を行う傾向があった。日本の場合、二人の間に別の会話が割り込んで相手との会話を迅速に終結させたり、会話の途中で別の会話が挿入されて相手の気持を再確認しようとする会話構造として挿入連鎖を使用する傾向が見られた。

본 연구는 엿듣기 패러다임(overhearing paradigm)과 선다형 과제를 사용하여, 선행 발화(pre-sequence)가 전달하는 가능성(높음, 중간, 낮음)과 중국 체류 기간이 제2언어로서 중국어를 학습하는 한국인 학습자의 제안 전략 선택 및 온라인 처리에 미치는 영향을 조사한다. 전략 선택 측면에서, 학습자들은 높은 가능성의 맥락에서는 원어민과 유사한 수행을 보였으나, 더 큰 모호성과 사회적 위험을 수반하는 중간 및 낮은 가능성의 맥락에서는 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 장기 체류 집단은 단기 체류 집단보다 더 나은 수행을 보였다. 온라인 처리 측면에서, 반응 시간 데이터는 기저의 인지 메커니즘에 더 깊은 차이가 있음을 보여주었다. 즉, 단기 체류 집단은 원어민과 장기 체류 집단 모두에게서 관찰되는 '망설임' 현상이 결여되어 있었으며, 이는 미성숙한 암시적 화용 모니터링 시스템을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 장기적인 몰입을 통한 화용 발달이 단지 외현적 행동의 적절성 향상뿐만 아니라, 목표어의 화용 모니터링 시스템을 구축하고 내면화하는 과정을 포함함을 시사한다. 이 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 향후 중국어 교육에서는 맥락 비교와 같은 방법을 사용하여 선행 발화와 같은 화용 현상에 대한 명시적 교수를 강화하고, 이를 통해 학습자의 맥락 단서에 대한 민감성과 온라인 화용 모니터링 능력을 향상시킬 것을 제안한다.

Employing an overhearing paradigm and a multiple-choice task, this study investigates the influence of possibility (high, medium, low) conveyed by pre-sequences and length of stay in China on the strategy selection and online processing of Korean learners of Chinese as a second language. In terms of strategy selection, the results show that while learners performed similarly to native speakers in high-possibility contexts, their difficulties emerged in medium- and low-possibility contexts, which involve greater ambiguity and social risk; furthermore, the longer-stay group outperformed the shorter-stay group. In terms of online processing, reaction time data revealed deeper differences in underlying cognitive mechanisms: the shorter-stay group lacked the "hesitation" phenomenon observed in both native speakers and the longer-stay group, indicating an immature implicit pragmatic monitoring system. These findings suggest that pragmatic development through long-term immersion involves not only an improvement in the appropriateness of explicit behavior but the establishment and internalization of a target language pragmatic monitoring system. Based on these findings, it is suggested that future Chinese language pedagogy should enhance explicit instruction on pragmatic phenomena such as pre-sequences, using methods like contextual comparison to improve learners' sensitivity to contextual cues and their online pragmatic monitoring abilities.

Previously, we reported that the osmolarity conditions in the satellite region were affected CpG DNA methylation status while Pre-1 sequence was not affected CpG DNA methylation in pNT blastocyst stage. This study was conducted to investigate the DNA methylation status of repeat sequences in pig nuclear transfer (pNT) embryos produced under different osmolarity culture conditions. Control group of pNT embryos was cultured in PZM-3 for six days. Other two treatment groups of pNT embryos were cultured in modified PZM-3 with 138 mM NaCl or 0.05 M sucrose (mPZM-3, 320 mOsmol) for two days, and then cultured in PZM-3 (270 mOsmol) for four days. The DNA methylation status of the Pre-1 sequences in blastocysts was characterized using a bisulfite-sequencing method. Intriguingly, in the present study, we found the unique DNA methylation at several non-CpG sequences at the Pre-1 sequences in all groups. The non-CpG methylation was hypermethylated in all three groups, including in vivo group (86.90% of PZM- 3; 83.87% of NaCl; 84.82% of sucrose; 90.94% of in vivo embryos). To determine whether certain non-CpG methylated sites were preferentially methylated, we also investigated the methylation degree of CpA, CpT and CpC. Excepting in vivo group, preference of methylation was CpT>CpC>CpA in all three groups investigated. These results indicate that DNA methylation of Pre-1 sequences was hypermethylated in CpG as well as non-CpG site, regardless modification of osmolarity in a culture media.

From the perspectives of conversation analysis (CA) and membership categorization analysis (MCA), this paper analyzes the formulation sequence in Korean television news interviews and celebrity talk-shows. The analysis shows that the host's formulation is normatively oriented to by the guest as a preliminary action, which projects a range of face-impinging actions, such as challenge, assessment, request, etc. The formulation-confirmation sequence furnishes the host with consensual grounds for embarking on affectively-loaded assessment activities vis-a-vis the guest in his/her own terms. The guest, as the formulation-recipient, may block the host's projected action by using disconfirmation, which points to the contingent nature of the power that the host exercises as the agent of morality. The analysis of the formulation sequence is brought to bear upon the examination of the compositional features of the formulation turn (e.g., sentence-ending suffixes, discourse particle, etc.) and their interactional imports.

We present the Pre-Main Sequence (PMS) evolutionary tracks of stars with $0.065{\sim}5.0M_{\odot}$. The models were evolved from the PMS stellar birthline to the onset of hydrogen burning in the core. The convective turnover timescales which enables an observational test of theoretical model, particulary in the stellar dynamic activity, are also calculated. All models have Sun-like metal abundance, typically considered as the stars in the Galactic disk and the star formation region of Population I star. The convection phenomenon is treated by the usual mixing length approximation. All evolutionary tracks are available upon request.

Predicting family-wide consensus sequence of pre-mRNA splicing signals in legumes and their potential utility as phylogenetic markers

Recent studies have shown that an intron is not merely "junk", but something that plays important roles in many biological processes such as gene expression regulation and alternative splicing. For purposes of studying intron structures and predicting consensus splice motifs, a total of 102 legume species were used to isolate introns across the family. Of 196 gene-targeted PCR primer pairs, we successfully amplified 118 intron-containing genes (60.2 %) and obtained a total of 1,870 introns with an average size of 143 nucleotides, ranging from 61 to 1,036. Species-based compilation of 5'- and 3'-splicing motifs showed, to some extent, lineage-specific conservation in each splicing motif. Compilation of the entire intron set permitted prediction of the consensus sequences of splicing signal motifs in legumes, $A^YG^W\underline{GT}A^BA^BG^H$ and $T^VNC/T\underline{AG}G^HT^V$ for the 50SS and 30SS, respectively. Interestingly, these consensus motifs are very similar to the corresponding genome-wide splicing signals of two model systems, Arabidopsis and rice. This result suggests conservation of pre-mRNA splicing mechanism occurring in higher plants. Multiple alignments of CALTL introns demonstrated that the BP-3'SS region was relatively more conserved than the 5'SS-BP region. We speculate that length of the BP-3'SS region needs to be retained for the interaction with U2AF protein. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrates that each of three splicing motifs is not only phylogenetically informative, but also relevant to evolutionary divergence of species. This result suggests that the splice signal sequences would be a useful tool for the molecular phylogenetic analysis. We also anticipate that gene-targeted amplification in multiple genomes, described in this study, would facilitate studies on intron-located functional elements involved in gene expression regulations.

Under the context of Stein's linear theory of stellar models, the luminosity-effective temperature relationship is derived for contracting pre-main sequence stars which are losing mass, according to the empirical formula, given by Reimers (1975). The effects of mass loss on their evolution are investigated by calculating evolutionary tracks of 1. $1.5M_{\odot}$, $5M_{\odot}$, and $10M_{\odot}$, stars. Our calculations reveal that the effects of mass loss show up in the radiative equilibrium stage of the evolution. It is found that an increase of mass loss rate leads to delay the onset of radiative equilibrium, thus resulting in under-luminous main sequence stars. It is also noted that the mass loss prolongs the pre-main sequence life time. Detailed results of the calculations are discussed.

The duration of star formation activity is a key to understanding the formation process of star clusters. Although a number of astronomers have attempted to derive the underlying age spread in photometric diagrams with a variety of stellar evolutionary models, the resultant findings are subject to uncertainties due to intrinsic variability of pre-main sequence (PMS) stars, observational errors, difficulties in reddening correction, and systematic differences in adopted stellar evolutionary models. The distribution of Li abundance for PMS stars in a cluster could, on the other hand, provide an alternative way to estimate the age spread. In this study, a total of 134 PMS stars in NGC 2264 are observed with the high resolution multi-object spectrogragh Hectochelle attached to the 6.5m Multi Mirror Telescope. We have successfully detected Li ${\lambda}6708$ resonance doublet for 86 low-mass PMS stars. The Li abundance of the stars is derived from their equivalent width using a curves of growth method. After correction for non-LTE effects, the underlying age spread of 3 - 4 Myr is inferred from the Li abundance distribution of low-mass PMS stars. We suggest that NGC 2264 formed on a timescale shorter than 5 Myr given the presence of embedded populations.

We present photometric results of the δ Sct star V1162 Ori, which is extensively monitored for a total of 49 nights from mid-December 2014 to early-March 2015. The observations are made with three KMTNet (Korea Microlensing Telescope Network) 1.6 m telescopes installed in Chile, South Africa, and Australia. Multiple frequency analysis is applied to the data and resulted in clear detection of seven frequencies without an alias problem: five known frequencies and two new ones with small amplitudes of 1.2-1.7 mmag. The amplitudes of all but one frequency are significantly different from previous results, confirming the existence of long-term amplitude changes. We examine the variations in pulsation timings of V1162 Ori for about 30 years by using the times of maximum light obtained from our data and collected from the literatures. The O ? C (Observed minus Calculated) timing diagram shows a combination of a downward parabolic variation with a period decreasing rate of (1/P)dP/dt = ?4.22 × 10<sup>?6</sup> year<sup>?1</sup> and a cyclic change with a period of about 2780 days. The most probable explanation for this cyclic variation is the light-travel-time effect caused by an unknown binary companion, which has a minimum mass of 0.69 M<sub>⊙</sub>. V1162 Ori is the first δ Sct-type pulsating star of which the observed fast period decrease can be interpreted as an evolutionary effect of a pre-main sequence star, considering its membership of the Orion OB 1c association.

Characterization of phenotypes and predominant skeletodental patterns in pre-adolescent patients with Pierre-Robin sequence

Objective: To investigate the phenotypes and predominant skeletodental pattern in pre-adolescent patients with Pierre-Robin sequence (PRS). Methods: The samples consisted of 26 Korean pre-adolescent PRS patients (11 boys and 15 girls; mean age at the investigation, 9.20 years) treated at the Department of Orthodontics, Seoul National University Dental Hospital between 1998 and 2019. Dental phenotypes, oral manifestation, cephalometric variables, and associated anomalies were investigated and statistically analyzed. Results: Congenitally missing teeth (CMT) were found in 34.6% of the patients (n = 9/26, 20 teeth, 2.22 teeth per patient) with 55.5% (n = 5/9) exhibiting bilaterally symmetric missing pattern. The mandibular incisors were the most common CMT (n = 11/20). Predominant skeletodental patterns included Class II relationship (57.7%), posteriorly positioned maxilla (76.9%) and mandible (92.3%), hyper-divergent pattern (92.3%), high gonial angle (65.4%), small mandibular body length to anterior cranial base ratio (65.4%), linguoversion of the maxillary incisors (76.9%), and linguoversion of the mandibular incisors (80.8%). Incomplete cleft palate (CP) of hard palate with complete CP of soft palate (61.5%) was the most frequently observed, followed by complete CP of hard and soft palate (19.2%) and CP of soft palate (19.2%) (p < 0.05). However, CP severity did not show a significant correlation with any cephalometric variables except incisor mandibular plane angle (p < 0.05). Five craniofacial and 15 extra-craniofacial anomalies were observed (53.8% patients); this implicated the need of routine screening. Conclusions: The results might provide primary data for individualized diagnosis and treatment planning for pre-adolescent PRS patients despite a single institution-based data.

Using conversation analytic framework, this paper explicates how sequential structures and action formations are organized through an adjacency pair of negative yes/no question with pre-verbal negation and its response in naturally occurring Korean conversations. The paper demonstrates that (i) the pre-verbal negation yes/no question can frame an understanding of a negative event (a negated propositional content) that the questioner ‘noticed’ from the preceding talk and (ii) speakers use the negative question to implement various actions, such as understanding check, information request, or complaint/accusation, depending on the sequential position of the question and what is being addressed as ‘negative’. The paper also examines the ways in which responses are produced to different actions embodied by pre-verbal negation yes/no questions. The analysis demonstrates that an utterance is understood by speakers for the action that the utterance implements, even beyond the constraints set by the form itself.

차세대 염기 서열 분석법이 생성한 유전체 원시 데이터를 기존의 방식대로 하나의 서버에서 분석하기 위해서는 데이터 크기에 따라 수십 시간이 필요할 수 있다. 그러나 응급 환자의 진단처럼 수 시간 내에 결과를 알아야 하는 상황이 존재하기 때문에 단일 유전체 분석의 성능을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 빅데이터 기술의 병렬화 기법과 고속의 네트워크로 연결되고 병렬파일시스템을 공유하는 고성능컴퓨팅 클러스터를 적극적으로 활용하여 분석 시간을 크게 단축시킬 수 있는 유전체 데이터 분석의 전처리 프로세스의 병렬화 방법을 제안한다. 분석 데이터의 신뢰성을 위해 기존의 검증된 분석 도구 및 알고리즘을 새로운 환경에 맞게 병렬화 하는 전략을 선택하였다. 프로세스의 병렬화, 데이터의 분배 및 병렬 병합 기법을 개발하였고 실험을 통해 성능 향상을 확인하였다.

Analyzing next-generation genome sequencing data in a conventional way using single server may take several tens of hours depending on the data size. However, in order to cope with emergency situations where the results need to be known within a few hours, it is required to improve the performance of a single genome analysis. In this paper, we propose a parallelized method for pre-processing genome sequence data which can reduce the analysis time by utilizing the big data technology and the highperformance computing cluster which is connected to the high-speed network and shares the parallel file system. For the reliability of analytical data, we have chosen a strategy to parallelize the existing analytical tools and algorithms to the new environment. Parallelized processing, data distribution, and parallel merging techniques have been developed and performance improvements have been confirmed through experiments.

In this paper, we propose a parallelized method for pre-processing genome sequence data which can reduce the analysis time by utilizing the big data technology and the high- performance computing cluster which is connected to the high-speed network and shares the parallel file system. For the reliability of analytical data, we have chosen a strategy to parallelize the existing analytical tools and algorithms to the new environment. Parallelized processing, data distribution, and parallel merging techniques have been developed and performance improvements have been confirmed through experiments.

간염 B형 바이러스의 pre-S2 부위를 포함하는 DNA 서열을 pORF1 플라스미드의 ompF와 lacZ 유전자 사이에 끼워 넣어 pHBSC20 재조합 플라스미드를 제조하였다. 플라스미드 pHBSC20를 갖는 E. coli TK1046 균주내에서 OmpF와 $\beta$-galactosidase사이에 pre-S2 부위를 갖는 "tribrid" 단백질이 생성되었다. 이 융합단백질은 SDS-polyacrylamide gel 전기영동에 의해 확인되었고 pre-S2 부위의 항원성은 immunoblot 분석방법에 의해 확인되었다. 융합단백질의 양은 Coomassie blue로 염색한 gel을 densitometer로 측정한 결과 전체 박테리아 단백질중 1-5%를 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 pHBSC20 플라스미드를 갖는 박테리아는 pre-S2-$\beta$-galactosidase 융합 단백질을 다량 만들어 낼 수 있으며 이 중에서 pre-S2 부위는 HBV 백신을 생산하는데 유용할 것으로 보인다.

A DNA sequence involving pre-S2 region of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) was inserted between ompF and lacZ gene of the plasmid pORF1 to give a recombinant plasmid pHBSC20. In the plasmid pHBSC20 harboring E. coli TK1046 cells, a "tribrid" protein with the translation product of the insert sandwiched between OmpF and $\beta$-galactosidase was produced. The fusion protein was detected by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and the antigenicity of the pre-S2 region was determined by immunoblot analysis. The amount of the fusion protein was estimated as much as 1-5% of the total bacterial protein by densitometric scanning of the Coomassie blue-stained gel. Thus, bacteria transformed with pHBSC20 can provide abundant source of pre-S2-$\beta$-galactosidase fusion protein in which the pre-S2 region may be useful for the production of HBV vaccine.

Power system fault analysis has been based on symmetrical component method, which describes power system elements by positive, negative and zero sequence impedance. Obtaining accurate line impedances as possible are very important for estimating fault current magnitude and setting distance relay accurately. Especially, accurate calculation of zero sequence impedance is important because most of transmission line faults are line-to-ground faults, not balanced three-phase fault. Since KEPCO has started measuring of transmission line impedance at 2005, it has been revealed that the measured and calculated line impedances are well agreed within reasonable accuracy. In case of underground transmission lines, however, large discrepancies in zero sequence impedance were observed occasionally. Since zero sequence impedance is an important input data for distance relay to locate faulted point correctly, it is urgently required to analyze, detect and consider countermeasures to the source of these discrepancies. In this paper, development of pre/post processor to ATP (Alternative Transient Program) version of EMTP (Electro-Magnetic Transient Program) for sequence impedance calculation was described. With the developed processor ATP-cable, effects of ground resistance and ECC (Earth Continuity Conductor) on sequence impedance were analyzed.

Numerous studies have been conducted to analyze the causal relationships of maritime accidents using natural language processing techniques. However, when multiple causes and effects are associated with a single accident, the effectiveness of extracting these causal relations diminishes. To address this challenge, we compiled a dataset using verdicts from maritime accident cases in this study, analyzed their causal relations, and applied labeling considering the association information of various causes and effects. In addition, to validate the efficacy of our proposed methodology, we fine-tuned the KoELECTRA Korean language model. The results of our validation process demonstrated the ability of our approach to successfully extract multiple causal relationships from maritime accident cases.

나노 기술의 개발과 마이크로어레이(microarray)의 등장으로 생물학자동을 한번에 보다 라르고 신속하게, 대량의 실험을 처리할 수 있게 되었다. 이와 발 맞추어 마이크로어레이를 이용한 다양한 실험 방법들이 개발되었다. 형광 염료(fluorescence dye)를 이 용한 관찰 방법 이 널리 이용되고 있으나, 관찰되는 형광 염료의 밝기가 실험 환경(pH, 온도)에 매우 민감하게 반응하며, 단백질을 포함한 많은 분자 물질들이 형광을 내지 않기 때문에 마이크로어레이를 이용한 분석 대상 물질들의 개수가 제한을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 직접적인 형광 염료의 사용 없이, SPR(Surface Plasmon Resonance)을 이용한 마이크로어레이 분석 시스템에서 스팟(spot)의 밝기(intensity)를 측정하기 위한 효율적인 전처리 과정을 제안하고자 한다. 전처리 과정은 크게 프로젝티브 왜곡 효과 제거, 스팟의 위치 추적, 스팟의 영역 추출, 정규화 된 스팟의 밝기 측정으로 나누어진다. 특히, 이러한 과정을 거쳐서 측정된 밝기는 반응 유무의 관찰뿐만이 아니라, 실험 물질의 양적인 측정에도 이용되기 때문에 정확한 스팟의 밝기 측정에 중점을 두고자 한다.
