해수에 침지된 검체에서 지문 현출을 위한 최적의 방법 KCI 등재

해양환경은 지문의 수용성 물질을 용해하여 지문을 현출하기 어렵게 만들고 그 안에서 나타나는 여러 환경적 특성과 부유하는 이물질은 지문의 품질에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 지금까지 해수에 노출된 지문을 효과적으로 현출할 수 있는 기법을 확인하 는 여러 연구가 이루어졌다. 하지만 연구마다 다른 환경 조건에서 실험을 진행하여 효과적이라고 제시된 기법이 상이하고, 실험실 환경에서 수행된 연구들이 많아 연구 결과를 실무에 적용하기에 어려움이 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 실제 해수에 노출된 검체에 영향을 미치는 해양 환경 요인을 고려하여 해양 범죄 현장에서 많이 발견되 는 표면(플라스틱, 세라믹, 유리, 스테인리스, 도장된 FRP)을 대상으로 좋은 품질의 지문을 현출하는 방법에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 먼저 해수의 이물질 제거 여부가 지문의 품질에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 검 체의 운송 및 세척 방법을 비교하였다. 해수에 침지한 검체를 회수하여 건조운송하 는 방법과 침수운송 후 세척하는 방법을 비교한 결과, 침수운송 후 세척하였을 때 현출한 지문의 품질이 더 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 실험에 사용한 표면을 해수 에 노출시키고 비다공성 표면에 사용하는 지문 현출 기법(concentrated black, SPR, CA 훈증법, vacuum metal deposition(VMD))을 적용하여 가장 효과적인 기법을 확 인하였다. 실험 결과, 대부분의 표면에서 지문 품질 결과가 좋았던 VMD가 가장 우 수한 현출 성능을 보였다.

The marine environment dissolves the water-soluble components of fingermarks, making their development more challenging. Additionally, various environmental characteristics and suspended foreign substances in seawater can affect fingermark quality. Numerous studies have been conducted to identify effective techniques for developing fingermarks exposed to seawater. However, since each study has been conducted under different environmental conditions, the techniques suggested as effective vary. Furthermore, many studies have been performed in laboratory settings, making it difficult to apply the findings to practical forensic investigations. Accordingly, this study examined methods for developing high-quality fingermarks on surfaces commonly found in marine crime scenes—plastic, ceramic, glass, stainless steel, and painted FRP—while considering the environmental factors affecting evidence exposed to actual seawater. To determine the impact of removing foreign substances from seawater on fingermark quality, different methods of transporting and washing the evidence were compared. When comparing dry transport of recovered samples versus submerged transport followed by washing, the latter method produced higher-quality developed fingermarks. Additionally, various non-porous surfaces were exposed to seawater, and common fingermark development techniques for such surfaces—concentrated black powder, small particle reagent (SPR), cyanoacrylate (CA) fuming, and vacuum metal deposition (VMD)—were applied to determine the most effective method. The results showed that VMD exhibited the highest fingermark development performance across most tested surfaces.

본 논문에서는 제조업체의 공장자동화 환경을 클라우드 컴퓨팅의 SaaS 구축기술을 활용하여 전용 NC포스트프로세서를 웹 환경에서 서비스 받을 수 있도록 융합기술을 적용한 사례를 기술하였다. 개발된 WPS시스템은 기존 소프트웨어 개발방법론인 SPLE을 보완한 SCoD 방법론을 활용하여 안정되고 지속적인 시스템 서비스를 제공하도록 구현하였다. WPS는 범용의 NC포스트프로세서를 사용자 인터페이스와 프로세서 엔진으로 분리하여 각각의 사용자 PC와 클라우드 팜에 설치하고, 이 두 모듈을 네트워크로 연결하는 구조로 설계하였다. WPS는 철판절단 및 금형생산 공정 등에 활용할 수 있도록 현업에서 기능상의 테스트를 완료하였고, 사용자의 편의성을 개선하고 과금을 위한 모듈을 추가하는 등의 보완 작업을 거쳐 상용 서비스를 진행 중에 있다.

In this paper, we describe a case of utilizing SaaS technology to build NC Post -processor(WBS) based cloud computing. Developed WPS system was implemented to provide stable and continuous system service by utilizing SCoD methodology. WPS is designed user interface module and control engine module. The interface module is downloaded in a client PC and the control engine is installed in cloud parm area. These modules are connected with computer network. WPS was completed a function test for sheet cutting field and mold manufacturing field, and it is processing a commercial service using with improve the user's convenience and adding a bill charge module.

본 논문에서는 기존의 GIS기반 시스템의 개발에 적용하고 있는 개발방법론 중 표준화되어 있지 않은 데이터 이관 방법을 개선하여 수산자원정보시스템 개발 특성에 맞는 데이터 마이그레이션 방법을 제시한다. 첫째 데이터 마 이그레이션 전략을 수립한다. 둘째 수립된 전략을 토대로 반복적 공간 데이터베이스 구축 방안을 수립한다. 셋째 공 정별 데이터베이스 변환방법을 수행하여 기초자료를 실제적인 GIS 데이터로 변환한다. 넷째 개발자와 사용자의 교차 검수를 수행한다. 연구의 결과로 GIS 데이터의 마이그레이션 작업을 위한 방법을 제시하였으며 실제로 프로젝트에 적용하여 그 유용성을 확인하였다.

In this paper we present a data migration method for developing GIS-based Fisheries Resources Information Systems after considering standardization of existing methods and analyzing characteristics of such systems. First, a strategy for data migration is defined. Second, a iterative process to build a spatial database is planned. Third, the process is executed to make database transformations and basic data are converted into real GIS data. Finally, developers and users cross-check data correctness. As a result of our research, we suggest a data migration method for GIS data and confirm its usefulness by applying it to real projects.

Study on germination rate enhancement and seedling raising-method development on Sorbus commixta Hedl

This study was conducted to clarify on germination rate enhancement effect and to develope the growing seeding method on Sorbus commixta He이. The results were follows; The optimum temperature of stratificaion and germination of mountain ash was 5℃ the seed germination rate in wet stratification with sand at 5℃ for 90 days was 22.6% and the highest germination of 78.9% was observed when seed was soaked in BA 200ppm for 20 minute after stratification for 90 days at 5℃ . The highest germination of large chinese hawthorn was 11.1% when seedd was soaked BA 50ppm for 20 minute after stratification 90 days at 5℃. Emergence ratio in box raising seeding and pot seeding showed high, 93 and 95%. Root length and dry root weight in pot seedling for 50 days showed higher than that of dirrect seedling and box raising seedling. Plant height and dry leaf weight in box raising seedling showed higher than that of pot seedling and direct seedling. The growth increment of seedling was high between 40 days and 50 days after seedling. The excellent seedling of mountain ash was produced in pot seedling for 50 days.

Development of effective heparin extraction method from pig by-products and analysis of their bioavailability

This study was conducted to develop an effective heparin extraction method by using lowcost and highly effective enzymes from six pig by-products (liver, lung, heart, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine), and analyze their bioavailability. Low-cost and highly effective enzymes (alkaline-AK and papain) and a common enzyme (trypsin) were used for the heparin extraction. The angiotensin Ⅰ- converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity and the antimicrobial activity of extracted heparin were analyzed to verify their bioavailability. The average amount of heparin extracted per kilogram of pig by-products was 439 mg from the liver, 127 mg from the lung, 398 mg from the heart, 261 mg from the stomach, 197 mg from the small intestine, and 239 mg from the large intestine. Various enzymes were used to extract heparin, and the amount of extracted heparin was similar. Based on 1 g of pig by-product, the enzymes trypsin, papain, and alkaline-AK could extract 1,718 mg, 1,697 mg, and 1,905 mg of heparin, respectively. Heparin extracted from pig by-products showed antihypertensive activity and antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus at low populations. These results indicated that heparin can be obtained from pig by-products at a low cost.

Development of a nucleic acid detection method based on the CRISPR-Cas13 for point-of-care testing of bovine viral diarrhea virus-1b

Bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) is a single-stranded, positive-sense ribonucleic acid (RNA) virus belonging to the genus Pestivirus of the Flaviviridae family. BVD frequently causes economic losses to farmers. Among bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) strains, BVDV-1b is predominant and widespread in Hanwoo calves. Reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is an essential method for diagnosing BVDV-1b and has become the gold standard for diagnosis in the Republic of Korea. However, this diagnostic method is time-consuming and requires expensive equipment. Therefore, Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats-Cas (CRISPR-Cas) systems have been used for point-of-care (POC) testing of viruses. Developing a sensitive and specific method for POC testing of BVDV-1b would be advantageous for controlling the spread of infection. Thus, this study aimed to develop a novel nucleic acid detection method using the CRISPR-Cas13 system for POC testing of BVDV- 1b. The sequence of the BVD virus was extracted from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NC_001461.1), and the 5’ untranslated region, commonly used for detection, was selected. CRISPR RNA (crRNA) was designed using the Cas13 design program and optimized for the expression and purification of the LwCas13a protein. Madin Darby bovine kidney (MDBK) cells were infected with BVDV-1b, incubated, and the viral RNA was extracted. To enable POC viral detection, the compatibility of the CRISPR-Cas13 system was verified with a paper-based strip through collateral cleavage activity. Finally, a colorimetric assay was used to evaluate the detection of BVDV-1b by combining the previously obtained crRNA and Cas13a protein on a paper strip. In conclusion, the CRISPR-Cas13 system is highly sensitive, specific, and capable of nucleic acid detection, making it an optimal system for the early point-of-care testing of BVDV-1b.

Development of an artificial intelligence-based nursing simulation scenario evaluation tool: a methodological study using the Real-Time Delphi method in South Korea

Purpose: Simulation-based education plays a critical role in nursing by allowing stu- dents to acquire clinical competencies in a safe and controlled environment. However, current evaluation tools for simulation scenarios often lack standardization, resulting in inconsistencies when assessing the effectiveness of such programs. Methods: This study aimed to develop a comprehensive Nursing Simulation Scenario Evaluation Tool using the Real-Time Delphi method. A panel of 10 experts in nursing and simulation education participated in two rounds of surveys. The evaluation criteria were derived from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning Standards of Best Practice and relevant literature. Survey items were refined through expert consensus using content validity ratios and coefficient of variation val- ues. The finalized tool was further enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI)?based evalu- ation capabilities to support objective and systematic assessment. The tool was registered and patented in the Republic of Korea (Korean Intellectual Property Office Registration No. 10-2024-0051234) to acknowledge its innovation and technical merit. Results: The process resulted in an evaluation tool comprising eight key domains and 36 items, covering scenario structure, learning objectives, preparation, script development, debriefing, facilitation, expected outcomes, and scenario validity. A Kendall’s coefficient of concordance of 0.739 indicated strong agreement among the experts. Conclusion: This study successfully developed a standardized and validated tool to im- prove the reliability and effectiveness of simulation-based education in nursing. The tool addresses a key gap in current educational practices and enhances consistency in evalu- ating nursing simulation scenarios. Future studies should focus on validating its applica- tion across diverse educational environments.

Interview Method Development for Qualitative Study of ESL Motivation

The purpose of this paper is to present a potentially useful interview template for longitudinal, qualitative ESL motivation research. For this purpose, I recruited 10 Korean ESL learners in Toronto, Canada to investigate the differential effects of three types of interviews (i.e., open-ended, semi-structured, and structured interviews) for eliciting learners’ comments on ESL learning motivation. Each participant was interviewed two or three times over four months. The interviews were audio-taped and transcribed. Thematic analyses based on Ratner’s (2002) meaning unit indicated that for initial exploratory purposes, open-ended formats are the most appropriate; whereas for subsequent investigations, semi-structured formats are the most effective. The beneficial washback experienced as a result of the interviews strongly supports the use of these methods, not only as research tools but as learning tools for enhancing learners’ metacognitive awareness of their own ESL learning and for their emotional stabilization.

본 연구에서는 미계측 유역의 유량을 산정하는데 있어 수치해석 모델을 이용하지 않고 유역특성에 대한 가중치를 적용하여 유량을 산정하고자 하였다. 유역특성을 고려한 미계측 유역의 유량을 산정 하기 위하여 기존의 비유량법에 유역 특성 가중치를 적용하였다. 유역개발정도와 유역 내 수리구조 물에 대한 유역특성을 가중치로 적용하였다. 연구대상유역은 금강수계의 미호천 유역이며 시나리오 A결과 6개 관측소 중 2개소에서 과소, 2개소에서 과대산정 되는 것으로 분석되었다. 시나리오B, C, D의 결과 시나리오A 보다 관측유량에 대한 계산유량의 비가 비교적 1.0에 가깝게 분석되었지만 여전히 오차가 큰 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 유역특성을 고려한 미계측 유역에서의 유량을 보다 정확 하게 산정하기 위해서 유역개발정도와 수리시설물에 대한 정량적인 평가방법 개발이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

In estimating the discharge of the ungauged watershed, we tried to estimate the discharge by applying the weight of the watershed characteristics without using a numerical model. To calculate the discharge of the ungauged watershed considering the watershed characteristics, applied the weight of the watershed characteristics to the existing drainage area ratio method. The watershed development degree and hydraulic structures in the watershed for watershed characteristics were applied as weights. As a result of scenario A, it was analyzed that 2 out of 6 observation stations were underestimated, two were overestimated. As a result of scenarios B, C, and D, the ratio of the calculated discharge to the observed discharge was analyzed to be relatively closer to 1.0 than that of scenario A but still analyzed that the error was significant. In the future, to more accurately calculate the discharge in the ungauged watershed considering the characteristics of the watershed, it will be necessary to develop a quantitative evaluation method.

Background: Soft errors in semiconductor devices caused by cosmic rays have been recognized as a significant threat to the reliability of electronic devices on the ground. Recently, concerns about soft errors induced by cosmic-ray muons have increased. Some previous studies have indicated that low-energy negative muons have a more significant contribution to the occurrence of soft errors than positive muons. Thus, charge-identified low-energy muon flux data on the ground are required for accurate evaluation of the soft error rate. However, there are no such experimental data in the low-energy region. Materials and Methods: We designed a new muon detector system to measure low-energy muon flux data with charge identification. The major components consist of two drift chambers and a permanent magnet. The charge and momentum of detected muon can be identified from the deflection of the muon trajectory in the magnetic field. An algorithm to estimate the muon momentum is developed using numerical optimization by combining the classical Runge-Kutta and quasi-Newton methods. The momentum search algorithm is applied to event-by-event data of positive and negative muons obtained by Monte Carlo simulations with Particle and Heavy Ion Transport code System, and its performance is examined. Results and Discussion: The momentum search algorithm is fully applicable even in the case of an inhomogeneous magnetic field. The precision of the momentum determination is evaluated by considering the stochastic fluctuation caused by multiple scattering and the position resolution of the drift chambers. It was found that multiple scattering has a significant contribution to the precision in the momentum region below 50 MeV/c, while the detector position resolution considerably affects the precision above that. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the momentum search algorithm works well with a sufficient precision of 15% in the low-momentum region below 100 MeV/c, where no muon flux data exist.

Sperm treatment methods affect sperm fertility and developmental potential of in vitro fertilized(IVF) embryos. Confirmation of the developmental rate according to the information of donor cow will be helpful for the production of elite Jeju Black Cattle(JBC) embryos. To optimize the suitable JBC sperm treatment method, the following methods of percoll gradient, triladyl and percoll-triladyl combination(P, T and PT, respectively) were used to sperm treatment. At 2 days after IVF, there was no difference in the fertilization rate among all groups. The cleavage rate at day 4 was higher in PT and T groups than in P group. The blastocyst formation rate at day 8 was significantly increased in T and PT groups(p<0.05). In comparison of the in vitro development potential of donor and non-donor cows, there were no differences from IVF rate to blastocyst formation rate. According to JBC grade(1++, 1+, 1, 2), the development rate was the highest in 1++ grade cattle, followed by 1, 1+ and 2 grade. Also, in vitro developmental potential by carcass weight was the highest at the 300~350 kg, followed by 300 kg or less, 350~400 kg, and then 400 kg more over. While the T method can collect a small amount of viable sperm, the P method was present a little toxic to JBC sperm. Thus, we developed PT method combined two sperm treatment methods. In this study, the development of IVF embryos was more effective when the carcass grade was high and the carcass weight was about 350 kg. This result demonstrates that JBC sperm can be effectively recovered with simple and efficient PT method and using this technique, elite JBC IVF embryos can be produced in vitro for the mass production of JBC.

Development of volume reduction method of cesium contaminated soil with magnetic separation KCI 등재

In this study, we developed a new volume reduction technique for cesium contaminated soil by magnetic separation. Cs in soil is mainly adsorbed on clay which is the smallest particle constituent in the soil, especially on paramagnetic 2:1 type clay minerals which strongly adsorb and fix Cs. Thus selective separation of 2:1 type clay with a superconducting magnet could enable to reduce the volume of Cs contaminated soil. The 2:1 type clay particles exist in various particle sizes in the soil, which leads that magnetic force and Cs adsorption quantity depend on their particle size. Accordingly, we examined magnetic separation conditions for efficient separation of 2:1 type clay considering their particle size distribution. First, the separation rate of 2:1 type clay for each particle size was calculated by particle trajectory simulation, because magnetic separation rate largely depends on the objective size. According to the calculation, 73 and 89 % of 2:1 type clay could be separated at 2 and 7 T, respectively. Moreover we calculated dose reduction rate on the basis of the result of particle trajectory simulation. It was indicated that 17 and 51 % of dose reduction would be possible at 2 and 7 T, respectively. The difference of dose reduction rate at 2 T and 7 T was found to be separated a fine particle. It was shown that magnetic separation considering particle size distribution would contribute to the volume reduction of contaminated soil.

Background: High-fidelity meteorological data is a prerequisite for the realistic simulation of atmospheric dispersion of radioactive materials near nuclear power plants (NPPs). However, many meteorological models frequently overestimate near-surface wind speeds, failing to represent local meteorological conditions near NPPs. This study presents a new high-resolution (approximately 1 km) meteorological downscaling method for modeling short-range (< 100 km) atmospheric dispersion of accidental NPP plumes. Materials and Methods: Six considerations from literature reviews have been suggested for a new dynamic downscaling method. The dynamic downscaling method is developed based on the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model version 3.6.1, applying high-resolution land-use and topography data. In addition, a new subgrid-scale topographic drag parameterization has been implemented for a realistic representation of the atmospheric surface-layer momentum transfer. Finally, a year-long simulation for the Kori and Wolsong NPPs, located in southeastern coastal areas, has been made for 2016 and evaluated against operational surface meteorological measurements and the NPPs’ on-site weather stations. Results and Discussion: The new dynamic downscaling method can represent multiscale atmospheric motions from the synoptic to the boundary-layer scales and produce three-dimensional local meteorological fields near the NPPs with a 1.2 km grid resolution. Comparing the year-long simulation against the measurements showed a salient improvement in simulating near-surface wind fields by reducing the root mean square error of approximately 1 m/s. Furthermore, the improved wind field simulation led to a better agreement in the Eulerian estimate of the local atmospheric dispersion. The new subgrid-scale topographic drag parameterization was essential for improved performance, suggesting the importance of the subgrid-scale momentum interactions in the atmospheric surface layer. Conclusion: A new dynamic downscaling method has been developed to produce high-resolution local meteorological fields around the Kori and Wolsong NPPs, which can be used in short-range atmospheric dispersion modeling near the NPPs.

현재 온실가스 배출량 산정 방법은 온실가스 저감대책 효과 분석이 불가능하며 차량의 이동특성이 반영이 안 된 실정으로 이를 극복할 수 있는 온실가스 배출량 산정 방법의 필요로 본 연구가 시작되었다. 교통수요 분석을 통해 차종, 교통상황에 따른 HBEFA 배출계수로 배출량을 산정하는 방법을 통해 고양시에 적용하여 분석하였다. 본연구의 지자체단위 교통수요 추정방안을 통해 실질적인 교통 이용특성에 맞는 온실가스 배출량이 산출되었다. 온실가스 지자체별 통행요금, 속도제한 등 온실가스 저감 요인들이 교통수요 모형에 반영되어 온실가스 저감 대책에 대한 효과분석 후 환경영향을 줄일 수 있는 방안을 강구하여 온실가스 저감 대책 마련에 효율적으로 이용될 것으로 판단된다.

Greenhouse gas emissions have been an important issue in different countries because of their effects on global warming. The government has to organize greenhouse gas reduction measures suitable to regional characteristics by establishing annual implementation plans and comprehensive policies based on the UNFCCC. The transportation sector is one of the major contributors of air pollution; hence increasing need to estimate current and future traffic emissions precisely. Under these circumstances, a number of emission models have been developed recently. However, current methods of estimation cannot carry out effective analyses because it does not reflect vehicle movement characteristics. This study aims to present a new method for calculating road traffic emissions in Goyang city. A travel demand model is utilized to carry out GHG emission estimates according the traffic data (fleet composition, vehicle kilometers travelled, traffic intensity, road type, emission factors and speed). This study evaluates two approaches to estimate the road traffic emissions in Goyang City: Pollution-Emis and the Handbook of Emission Factors for Road Transport (HBEFA v.3.1) which is representative of the “average speed” and the “traffic situation” model types. The evaluation of results shows that the proposed emission estimation method may be a good practice if vigilant implementation of model inputs is observed.
