「わけ」의 의미․용법에 관한 고찰 -일한 대역본을 중심으로-

In this paper,「わけだ」language shown in Japanese novel and Korean translation were compared to analyze different Korean expression for each「わけだ」form.「わけだ」has different forms depending on style or type of language. Four types of「わけだ」, which are「わけだ」「わけがない」「わけではない」「わけに はいかない」,were analyzed after referring Japanese sentence structure dictionary. There were 9 types of Korean expression for each「わけだ」, shown as「것이다, 말이다, 셈이다, -겠지, -군요, -텐데(테니), -기도 하다, 마련이다, -지요」. There were 24 liberal translation, and there were 70 types that had no corresponding expression. Out of 9 different types,「것이다」had the most corresponding expression, about 40.6%. It was the expression that was translated the most for translation of「わけだ」. About 31.3% of the Korean expression had no corresponding expression. Let us see different usage of「わけだ」. For explanation, result, cause, acceptance, reduction, confirmation, and contention, 것이다 is used. For saying in other words and confirmation, 말이다 was used. For explanation, reason, and saying in other words, 셈이다 was used. For result and confirmation, -겠지 was used. For explanation, saying in other words, and confirmation, -군요 was used. For confirmation, result, and reason, -텐데(테니) was used. For explanation and reason, -기도 하다 was used. For result, 마련이다 was used. For confirmation, -지요 was used.「わけだ」has another usage of explanation, confirmation, cause, and result too. 「-리가 없다, 것은 없다, 일(이/은) 아니다」are corresponding Korean expression to「わけがない」. There were seven liberal translation and two that have no corresponding expression.「-리가 없다」was the most used expression, about 73.5%.「-리가 없다」was the most used Korean expression corresponding to「わけがない」. 「것(은/도/이) 아니다, -지(는/도) 않다, -적(은/는) 없다, 일도 아니다, -라서는 아니다, 없(었)을 텐데, -리(는/ 가) 없다, 정도는 아니다」are Korean expression corresponding to「わけではない」. There were 24 liberal translation and six that had no corresponding expression.「것(은/도/이) 아니다」was the mose used expression corresponding to「わけではない」, about 77.2%. Liberal translation was about 9.0% and「-지(는/ 도) 않다」was about 8.6%. 「-수(는/가/도) 없다, -리(는/가) 없다, 도리가 없다, 안 된다, 일은 아니다, 무리다」were corresponding Korean expression to「わけにはいかない」. There were 5 liberal translation and none which had no corresponding expression.「-수(는/가/도) 없다」was the most used expression corresponding to「わけにはい かない」, about 85.6%. It was most used expression. As a result, four forms of「わけ」has been proved that they have various translation examples. It is hard to grasp the usage of「わけ」exactly because「わけ」has many different corresponding expression and「わけ」can be understood in context. So I wish that the Korean learners who study Japanese can get help from the examples provided in this paper. There were lots of cases which「わけだ」had no - 22 - corresponding expression. It was impossible to find out for which usage「わけだ」has no corresponding expression. There is going to be further study on it.
