Protective effect of urokinase on reperfusion were studied followed by global ischemia in the isolated perfused rat heart. Separately, anti-platelet aggregation effect of urokinase also investigated. Urokinase exhibited positive effect for the protection of rat heart function by increasing the LV dp/dt, coronary flow(CF) and the Tate pressure product(RPP), and by decreasing the LVEDP on reperfusion. Urokinase also decreased arrhythmia by $74.7\%(P<0.05) induced by global ischemia in the rat heart. In the platelet aggregation study, urokinase did not show the inhibitory effect of ADP or collagen induced platelet aggregation inviuo and exvivo.

Thymic extract showed antitumor effect to sarcoma mice with higher dose i.p., 4weeks) but not with low dose i.p., 6 weeks). Direct cytotoxicities were exhibited against sarcoma 180, L1210 and MOLT-4 by MTT assay. The spleen weight of mice were increased but the number of circulating lymphocytes were not increased after long-term(2 weeks) administration of thymic extract. Evaluating the mitogenesis by MTT assay. absorbance of human lymphocytes was not increased by thymic extract. Cell cycle statistics of S phase and phase was not increased in the presence of that by PI staining. The formation of rosette was induced, irrespectively of exposure time short-term(l hour) and long-term(2 weeks). The population of mouse blood T-cell to bind Lyt2-antimonoclonal antibody and to were increased after administration of thymic extract. From the above results, it is suggested that thymic extract exerts antitumor activity by stimulating T cells to differeniate in vivo but not in vitro.

This study was attempted to investigate the pharmacokinetics of theophylline(4mg/kg) in the rabbits of carbon tetrachloride induced hepatic Cailure, The plasma concentration and relative bioavailability of theophylline were increased significantly in hepatic railure rabbits compared with those of normal rabbits. There was significant relationship between SGOT value and bioavailability parameters of theophylline. From the results of this experiments, dosage regimen of theophylline is considered to be adjusted in dose size and dosing interval using SGOT values.

This study was designed to estimate the ability of squalene treated mice to eliminate systemically infected bacteria and fungi and to elucidate the mechanism. As a result of measuring the ability to remove systemically infected bacteria and fungi, The ability of mice to remove the organism was found to increase in squalene treated mice when compared with control mice. And also the ability of phagocytic cells to produce Reactive Oxygen Intermediate(R.O.I.) increased in squalene treated mice. When the NADPH oxidase activity that make R.O.I. produce was measured, the activity increased in squalene treated mice, too. Therefore the good clearance of live organism in squalene treated mice is likely to relate to phagocytic cell activation. The activation of phagocytic cells might be mediated via the increased production of R.O.I. due to the increase of NADPH oxidase activity.
