이 논문에서는 포퍼의 저술에 나타나는 문제의 유형과 그 특성, 그리고 그가 제시하는 문제해결의 과정 과 방법에 대하여 고찰하였다. 포퍼는 문제 자체보다는 문제해결에 의미를 두었는데, 그가 제시하는 문제해결 은 기본적으로 ‘P1 →TT →EE →P2’의 과정을 거친다. 이 연구는 특히 포퍼가 제시한 다음과 같은 문제해결 방법을 살펴보았다: 시행착오 방법, 가설-연역적(반증) 방법, 형이상학적 연구 프로그램, 점진적 사회공학. 필 자는 이들 방법 중에서 시행착오 방법과 반증 방법은 미시적 접근으로, 형이상학적 연구 프로그램과 점진적 사회공학은 거시적 접근으로 분류하였다.

In this paper, I reviewed the types and the characteristics of problems in Popper’s writings, along with his process and methods of problem-solving. Popper places more emphasis on problemsolving than on the problem itself. His problem-solving process basically goes through ‘P1 →TT → EE → P2’. This study specifically examined the following problem-solving methods that were suggested by Popper: trial & error method, hypothesis-deduction(falsification) method, metaphysical research programs, and piecemeal social engineering. Among these methods, I classified the trial & error method and the falsification method into a micro approach, and the metaphysical research programs and the piecemeal social engineering into a macro approach.
