This paper proposes a policy adjuster-driven Grid workflow management system for collaborative healthcare platform, which supports collaborative heart disease diagnosis applications. To select policies according to service level agreement of users and dynamic resource status, we devised a policy adjuster to handle workflow management polices and resource management policies using policy decision scheme. We implemented this new architecture with workflow management functions based on policy quorum based resource management system for providing poincare geometrycharacterized ECG analysis and virtual heart simulation service. To evaluate our proposed system, we executed a heart disease identification application in our system and compared the performance to that of the general workflow system and PQRM system under different types of SLA.

This paper evaluates SnapCheck.io, a smart workflow platform aimed at improving the efficiency of project management in remote work environments. Through the use of AI-driven task scheduling, smart time tracking, and real-time analytics, SnapCheck.io enhances resource utilization and lowers the waiting time for task dependency. A mixed-method study at various organizations showed an improvement in performance by 18%, which was thus corroborated by the increased rate of task completion and quicker workflow execution. The results reveal that the use of intelligent automation in SnapCheck.io not only helps in streamlining the project coordination process but also promotes the ongoing productivity and collaboration of distributed teams.

사회의 발달에 따라 정보의 양이 폭발적으로 증가하게 되어 이를 효율적으로 유지, 보관하기 위해 디지털 아카이브의 필요성이 대두되었다. 현재 아카이브의 표준으로는 OAIS(Open Archival Information System) 참조 모형이 있다. 이 모형은 장기보존에만 관심이 있고, 주로 포괄적인 콘텐츠에만 신경을 쓰고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이미지 자료를 대상으로 장기보존만이 아닌 효율적인 활용을 위한 디지털 아카이브 워크플로우와 메타데이터에 대한 모델을 제시하고자 한다. 이미지 자료 디지털 아카이브 구축을 위해서는 OAIS 참조 모형을 통해 서지 정보와 미디어 형태의 메타데이터 표준이 추가되어야 한다는 필요성이 제기된다. 이미지 정보의 효율적인 디지털 아카이빙 및 활용을 위한 클래스 기반 다단계 메타데이터 모델 관리를 제안한다.
As the amount of information increases explosively with the development of society, the need for a digital archive has emerged in order to maintain information efficiently. There is a current standard of digital archive is OAIS(Open Archival Information System) reference model. OAIS reference model is mainly interested in long-term preservation and concerned about comprehensive content. This paper propose digital archive workflow that is used not only for long-term preservation but also for the efficient utilization with the image data. The OAIS reference model and the metadata standard should be added surge information to build a digital archive. Therefore we propose metadata model should be managed based on multi-level classes not only for effective digital image archive but also for utilization.

의사결정자 지원은 문제 인식, 대안 생성, 최적안 선정 등 협의의 의사결정 지원시스템 (Decision Support System, DSS) 뿐 아니라 의사결정자의 일상업무지원과 의사결정 능력 향상을 위한 교육을 포함한다. 본 논문의 목적은 의사결정자를 지워하기 위한 일종의 광의의 의사결정 지원 시스템인 의사결정자 지원시스템(Decision Maker Support System, DMSS)에 대한 개념적 틀을 제시하는 것이다. DMSS는 전통적인 의사 결정 지원시스템, 업무처리 시스템, 가상교육 시스템 및 이들을 통합 관리하여 특정 의사결정자의 요구에 맞게 구성해 주는 DMSS 관리자를 핵심 요소로 하며 원격의 의사결정자 존재를 생각하여 사용자 인터페이스는 웹 기반을 고려하였다. 특히 DMSS의 하위 시스템의 지식을 통합하기 위해 일원화된 지식베이스를 설계하였다. 그리고 DMSS의 가능성을 보이기 위해 가상 시나리오를 통해 설명하였다.
Distributed Workflow Architecture Based on Flexible Data Management

In recent years, distributed workflow management technology attracted much attention for the requirement of rapid development of process oriented software systems. However the current workflow management systems do not have sufficient capabilities in controlling data stream between the workflow engine and applications, decreasing the reusability of the workflow components. Therefore we enhance the basic data model of the distributed workflow system, and propose an architecture based on a flexible data mapping model to improve the reusability of the workflow components in distributed workflow management. A real-world scenario which is built and implemented based on this architecture is shown to prove the effectiveness and usefulness of the architecture.

In this paper, we present a novel Context-aware Workflow Management Engine (CWME) which offers seamless control and coordination of ubiquitous networked devices in a heterogeneous, autonomous, and distributed (HAD) environment. CWME adopts the concept from contemporary Business Process Management (BPM) systems where end users are allowed to design or customize activities and workflows involving network devices. A working CWME prototype has been developed as a proof of concept and tested using a device simulator. During the workflow design phase, a Feature Interaction Detection Engine (FIDE) is adopted in our system to detect all possible operation conflicts between the devices. During workflow execution phase, we propose Justified-Event-Condition -Action (JECA) rule and a Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) to enhance CWME's exception handling capability.

The workflow model is used widely in modern society office, production and manufacturing fields in computer environment. It plays a more and more important role in the office circumstance, industrial and manufacturing domain with the development of computer automation in modern business. Workflow management system is a tool. It is also a platform to develop and implement the workflow. But heterogeneities under distributed network environments hamper the coordination among the tasks in a workflow management system. We propose a new workflow management system based on CORBA and mobile-Agent to solve these problems. And we make the detailed analysis of this system. Firstly, this paper introduces the research background and research status. The second part is the related concepts of workflow management system, CORBA and agent technology under a distributed environment. The third part is the new workflow management system. The last part is the conclusion.
P2PCloud-W: A Novel P2PCloud Workflow Management Architecture Based on Petri Net

IaaS model in the Cloud Computing provides infrastructure services to users. However, the provider of such centralized Cloud requires notable investments to maintain the infrastructures. P2P Cloud, whose infrastructures are provided by multiple volunteer nodes in the P2P network, gives a low cost option to the provision of Cloud Computing. P2PCloud workflow is used to handle tasks with control and data dependencies, and plays an important role in P2PCloud environment. It is essential to design an appropriate model to satisfy the distributed and heterogeneous workflow systems that must be flexible, reusable, dynamic feature in higher level. In this paper, An architecture of a P2PCloud system firstly is proposed, and then a P2PCloud-W(P2PCloud workflow system) framework is proposed, which is a novel hybrid decentralized workflow management system facilitating both Cloud and P2P technologies. Finally, a P2PCloud-W case is analyzed using Petri Net.
Application-level Web Component Framework for Distributed Workflow Management

Distributed workflow management system has been widely used for the requirement of rapid development of process oriented software systems. In the past few years, more and more modern enterprises prefer the web-based workflow solutions. However, developing a web-based distributed workflow is a time-consuming task, since the architecture is complex and the programmers need to master the skills of both front-end and back-end development. In this paper, we present an application-level web component framework to develop the web-based workflow efficiently in the distributed environment. In this framework, the functions of the components are restricted to human-computer interaction and data computation, and all other functions are integrated into the workflow management system. Most web applications can be easily created through the component configuration instead of coding. Real-world scenarios which are built and implemented based on this architecture are shown to prove the effectiveness and usefulness of the framework.

The paper is divided into phase : the first phase deals with orthogonal extension into phase : the first phase deals with orthogonal extension of Petrinet to enhance the permutation of control and traffic flow simulation. The second phase discusses application of continuous pertinent with intelligent agents to the model the UTS in continuous format with single central control agent.

A Survey on Workflow Verifications of Petri Nets based Service Process Management

Service process management is a cross-discipline research topic, including computer science, management technology and economics. How to effectively integrate service resources to meet customer demands becomes a key problem to service-oriented software development. Most of existing works are in the early research stage. The scope of process management consists of process design, process execution, process mining, and process intelligence. However, it requires process modeling, which is a crucial precondition in the lifecycle of service process management. In this paper, it reviews workflow verifications of Petri Nets based service process management. First, the workflow and description supporting tools are introduced. Then, considering the composite service is an effective way to organize third-party business functions seamlessly, the Petri Nets based service workflow employed to formalizing composition behaviors is discussed. Third, components encapsulated in the composite service may be encountered functional and non-functional problems since services are offered by different organizations. The functional verification includes the correctness, reachability and safety. The non-functional verification is to evaluate the performance of Petri Nets based workflow model ranging over timed constraints and probabilistic behaviors. Therefore, it summarizes Petri Nets based workflow verification techniques to guarantee the quality of services composition. In conclusion, this survey provides academic references to researchers and developers in service computing and process management.

As most of information systems developed are data-centric rather than process-centric, it is difficult for users to understand and manage the system from the viewpoint of work processes. To resolve the problem of the data-centric design, we propose a new method to design WFMSs(Workflow Management Systems), which are focused on processes and modified from current information engineering methods. In this research, the drawing approval and engineering change approval process of a K manufacturing company has been analyzed as a sample process. This method takes two steps, i.e., process analysis and system design. In the prosess analysis, data and processes are analyzed, and functions and tasks are derived from the processes. In the system design, a data model for the operation of WFMS is designed, and based on this data model, build-time and run-time functions of WFMS are designed.
InfoFlow: A Web-based Workflow Management System

In this paper, we introduce the design and development of a web-based workflow management system. The goal of the developed system is to manage business processes occurring in the CITIS (Contractor Integrated Technical Information Services) environment. The system is composed of three main modules: Process Designer, Workflow Engine, and Client modules. The Process Designer is a module that provides the environment for the build-time function, which generates the specifications of processes. The module presents the capability of defining nested process models, which is powerful in particular for designing complex processes. Since the other two modules are implemented using pure Java technology, the Workflow Engine can be implemented on any platform and the Client programs can be accessed via the WWW interface. This indicates that there is no need to install any client programs at the client-sides. Users who has a connection to the internet with web browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, and has a proper right of access can utilize the normal client, monitoring client, and system administration client programs. Communications between the workflow engine and the clients are implemented using the java servlet mechanism. The workflow system can serve as the underlying platform of process management tool in CALS and CITIS environments. An example scenario of using the system is presented.

전통적인 워크플로우 패러다임에 있어서는 하나의 워크플로우가 자동으로 실행되기 위해서는 사전에 해당 워크플로우 탬플릿이 정의되어야 한다. 하지만 많은 경우에 있어서 프로세스 생성시에 전체 워크플로우를 명확하게 정의 할 수 없는 상황이 발생한다. 그러한 경우에는 워크플로우 파편을 통합하여 유도되는 것이 적절하다. 워크플로우 관리시스템이 그러한 상황에 대처하기 위해서는 실행 중에 워크플로우를 정의하는 기능을 갖출 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 워크플로우 관리시스템에서 실행 중 워크플로우 정의 기능을 어떻게 수용할 것인지에 관해서 소개하고 그러한 기능을 수용하는 워크플로우 관리 시스템이 어떠한 구조이어야 하는지에 관해서 논의한다. 본 논문에서는 또한 실행 중 워크플로우 정의를 위한 세가지 워크플로우 파편 템플릿이 소개되며 이것들로부터 전체 워크플로우를 유도하는 알고리즘이 고안되었다. 실행 중 워크플로우 정의 기능을 구현하기 위해서는 커넥터 메커니즘이 고안되었으며 이것의 구조와 기능도 소개된다.
A Workflow for Practical Programming Class Management Using GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom

In programming classes, there is always a need to efficiently manage programming assignments. This is especially important as class sizes and assignment complexity grows. GitHub and GitHub Classroom makes the management of student assignments much simpler than uploading files and folders to a LMS or shared online drive. Additionally, git and GitHub are industry standard tools, so introducing students these tools in class provides them a good opportunity to start learning about how software is developed in the real-world. This study describes a workflow that uses both GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom for more efficient classroom and assignment management. The workflow outlined in this study was used in two practical web programming classes in Spring 2023 with 46 third and fourth-year university students. GitHub Pages was used as a classroom website to distribute class announcements, assignments, lecture slides, study guides, and exams. GitHub Classroom was used as a class roster and assignment management platform. The workflow presented in this study is expected to assist other lecturers with the formidable tasks of distributing, collecting, grading, and leaving feedback on multiple students' multi-file programming assignments in practical programming classes.
