Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the Feldenkrais Method® on the improvement of shoulder joint function in women with desk jobs. Methods: We assessed 14 white-collar women aged 20–30 years. The range of motion of the shoulder joint, cervical mobility, muscle function, and shoulder flexibility were measured. The intervention program used was the Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement (ATM), which lasted 70 min and included warm-up and cool-down exercises. Results: The changes in shoulder joint mobility after Feldenkrais ATM were significantly improved in terms of abduction (p=0.001), adduction (p=0.005), flexion (p=0.003), extension (p=0.001), internal rotation (p=0.001), and external rotation (p=0.001). The cervical mobility (p=0.022) and muscle function (p=0.001) were also significantly improved. Changes in shoulder flexibility showed significant effects in both the right arm (p=0.003) and left arm dominant postures (p=0.017). Conclusion: The Feldenkrais Method® can increase joint mobility in the shoulder and can be a good way to improve cervical mobility, muscle function, and shoulder flexibility. These effects are thought to be a good way to prevent pain and improve functional impairment for those with shoulder problems.

This study is aimed to the basic data on the optimal taping application time for general public and athletes who requires weight training by examining the changes in isokinetic shoulder joint muscle functions (muscular strength & endurance) and maximum manifestation time after functional taping on shoulder joints for middle school wrestling athletes. The subjects for this study were 10 middle school wrestling athletes with more than 3-year career from Wrestling Athlete Association in I metropolitan city. The measures on isokinetic muscular functions were submitted to SPSS 12.0 program (SPSS Inc. Chicago, IL, USA) for the analysis of taping effectiveness. In order to test the difference in muscular strength and endurance before and after joint taping, this study adopted the paired t-test at p<.05. The results are as follows: First, the results from the comparisons of isokinetoc muscular strength (60°/sec) showed that there was slight increase in all of maximum extensor muscular strength, maximum extensor muscular strength per body weight, average extensor muscular power, maximum flexor muscular strength, maximum flexor muscular strength per body weight, average flexor muscular power and ipsilateral muscular strength after taping. However, there were no significant differences. Second, the results from the comparison of isokinetic muscular strength (180°/sec) showed that there was significant increase in the maximum extensor muscular strength, maximum extensor muscular strength per body weight, maximum flexor muscular strength, average flexor power after taping. However, there was no significant difference in average extensor power. These results suggest that shoulder taping treatment has an impact on the enhancement of isokinetic muscular functions of the wrestling athletes who frequently use shoulder and upper body. These results imply that more systematic study with various targets and variables is required to examine the taping treatment to prevent injury and relapse on shoulder joint muscle and its strength.

PURPOSE: This study compared the effects of proprioceptive sensation, subacromial space, and dynamic function according to proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), static stretching (SS), and complex rotational stretching (CRS). METHODS: Thirty students without any musculoskeletal disease who volunteered to participate were included in this study. The following metrics were measured to evaluate the function and stability under the normal conditions, with the PNF, SS, and CRS: special test and flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, internal rotation, external rotation (shoulder range of motion) and reaching distance on the medial (ME), superolateral (SL), inferolateral (IL), and subacromial space and proprioceptive sensation were evaluated. All measures were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and repeated measures of ANOVA. RESULTS: A clear difference in adduction in the range of motion was observed in all groups (p < .05). Significant differences could not be identified in all values in the error test, except for Ab (p < .05). Significant differences in reach were noted in all directions of the SS and PNF in the Me, SL, and IL (p < .05). After the intervention, significant differences in the average values could be identified in all groups except for the SS group after rest (p < .05). After the intervention, there was a significant difference between the CRS and SS and PNF groups (p < .05). CONCLUSION: The application of CRS is as helpful as the existing SS and PNF for improving the joint range of motion improvement, shoulder balance, and subacromial space.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is a research on the evaluation about shoulder joint function. Methods : It's based on the reference books. Result : Shoulder joint has the biggest ROM in human body, and it is a joint that stability and mobility are required at the same time sport art. Especially, function of shoulder joint than other what item players of more important overhead item correct diagnosis and evaluation for shoulder joint injury require. Measurement equipment for shoulder joint is helping a lot of incorrect diagnosis and analysis about shoulder joint function of overhead players through a lot of developments. Conclusion : I think a lot of helps torture in motor ability elevation of players and player protection as analysis by special quality in item of overhead players.
