최근 온라인 게임엔진이 개발되고 그에 따른 맵핑기법과 함께 그것을 표현할 수 있는 콘텐츠의 중요성을 높아지고 있다. 이런 용도로 활용될 수 있는 패턴 콘텐츠는 많은 경우 제목에 의존하여 검색, 관리되어 왔다. 콘텐츠로서 디자인을 명세할 때 키워드만을 사용하는 방법은 디자인의 중요한 정보들, 예를 들면 조형요소와 같은 정보를 누락시킬 수 있다는 점에서 제한적일 수밖에 없다. 더구나 게임 맵핑에서 필요로하는 추상 패턴과 같이 적절한 제목을 부여하기 힘든 이미지의 경우는 키워드 위주로 접근이 더욱 문제가 될 것이다. 본 논문은 기이러한 문제를 개선하기 위하여 조형이론에 근거한 이미지의 구조 요소를 위주로 명세하는 방법을 제안한다. 이를 통해 사용자는 이미지의 특성 요소를 시각적으로 확인할 수 있다. 이미지 명세와 더불어 본 연구에서는 패턴 이미지를 전용으로 등록, 검색할 수 있는 시스템을 구축함으로써 제안된 방법의 유용성을 확인한다.

In recent years, as a new game engine with mapping technique is developed, it becomes more and more important for expressing the mapping method to contents. Pattern contents that can be used for that purpose have been relied mainly on keywords. However, such an approach will be limited in a sense that keyward-oriented specification tends to overlook the importance of other information such as design elements. Also, it will be more problematic when geometric and abstract patterns are in use, which are difficult to set proper titles on them. This paper suggests a description scheme based on design elements for pattern graphics in order to overcome the such problems. The suggested techniques support for visualization of the characteristics of pattern graphics. Demonstrations for effectiveness of storing and retrieval of pattern images are also presented by introducing pattern management systems.

본 연구는 판매량이 높은 여성 잡지 가운데, 인지도가 높고 영향력이 있다고 판단되는 5가지 잡지의 2015 년 상반기 여성복 패턴그래픽을 그 연구 대상으로 하였다. 여성복이라는 패션 분야와 패턴그래픽이라는 시각- 234 - 디자인 분야의 융합이라는 측면에서 연구의 주제는 더욱 가치를 발한다. 2015년 2월부터 7월까지의 패턴그래픽을 각 월별 잡지별 4개씩 총 120가지의 샘플을 선정하여 여성복 패턴그래픽을 분석함으로써 어떤 종류의패턴그래픽이 사용되었고, 어떤 그래픽1) 스타일2)로 표현되었으며, 또 2015년 상반기의 패턴그래픽 스타일과패턴그래픽의 그래픽표현은 어떤 상관관계가 있는지 파악하여 2015년 상반기 여성지에 소개된 패턴그래픽 스타일을 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2015년 상반기 패턴그래픽을 디자인 모티브별로 분석하면, 화훼 모티브, 기하학적 추상 모티브, 비구상추상 모티브로 분류되었고, 총 120개의 패턴그래픽 중에서 기하학적 추상 모티브가 가장 많았다.(약 46%) 화훼 모티브는 두 번째로 많은 디자인 모티브였는데(약37%), 기하학적 추상형태는 여름 시즌 잡지보다 봄 시즌 잡지에 별모양과 깅엄체크 형태가 많았으며, 특히가로 스트라이프 추상형태가 여름 시즌 잡지에 많이등장한 것은 두드러진 특징이라 할 수 있다. 상대적으로 적은 화훼 모티브는 봄 시즌 잡지에 비해 여름 시즌 잡지에 이파리 모티브가 많은 것이 특징이었다. 이러한 모티브들은 2015년 상반기 여성복 패션의 연상되는 이미지 형용사와 잘 결합되어 크게 다음과 같이 4 가지 패턴그래픽 스타일로 나타난 것으로 분석되었다. 첫째, 화려하고 찬란한 플로럴 그래픽 스타일이고, 둘째, 자유분방함을 추구하는 히피 그래픽 스타일이며, 셋째 경쾌하고 귀여운 그래픽 스타일이다. 넷째는강렬하고 와일드한 그래픽 스타일이다. 화려하고 찬란한플로럴 그래픽 스타일은 여러 가지 화훼 모티브와 ‘화려하고 찬란한’과 같은 연상되는 이미지 형용사가 결합한 것이고, 자유분방함을 추구하는 히피 그래픽 스타일은 도식화된 화훼 모티브와 기하학적 추상 모티브가 ‘자유분방하고 에스닉한’과 같은 연상되는 이미지 형용사와 결합한 것이며, 경쾌하고 귀여운 그래픽스타일은 기하학적 추상 모티브와 ‘경쾌하고 귀여운’ 과 같은 연상되는 이미지 형용사가 결합된 것이다. 강렬하고 와일드한 그래픽 스타일은 주로 비구상추상모티브와 ‘강렬하고 와일드한’과 같은 연상되는 이미지 형용사가 결합된 그래픽 스타일이다. 네 가지 그래픽 스타일 중에서 경쾌하고 귀여운 그래픽 스타일이그 빈도가 가장 낮게 나타났으며, 나머지 화려하고 찬란한 플로럴 그래픽 스타일과 자유분방함을 추구하는히피 그래픽 스타일, 그리고 강렬하고 와일드한 그래픽스타일과 같은 세 가지 패턴그래픽 스타일은 전체적으로 그 빈도가 비슷하게 나타났다. 2015년 상반기 여성복에 나타난 패턴그래픽의 경향을 분석한 것에 근거하면, 패턴그래픽의 경향은 과거에비해 더욱 화려하고 역동적인 그래픽으로 표현된 것이주된 특징으로 나타난 것은 과거의 장식적인 그래픽의부흥으로 판단되며, 전반적으로 크고 화려한 플라워 프린트를 대범하게 그래픽으로 표현된 것은 동영상 시대의 라이프 스타일의 암묵적 표현과 연관된다. 요약하면2015년 상반기 여성복의 패턴그래픽의 경향은 화려하고 장식적이며, 역동적이고 와일드한 이미지를 ...

This study aimed to research the pattern graphics of women's wear in S/S(Spring/Summer) season of 2015, shown in five magazines considered to have high awareness and influence among fashion magazines with high sales. This topic of study will prove to be more valuable as it the convergence of women’s wear, a field of fashion, and pattern graphics, a field of visual communication design. The objective of this study is to diagnose the pattern graphics trend of women's wear in S/S season of 2015, by selecting total 120 samples of four pattern graphics from each magazine of each month from February to July 2015, analyzing what types of fashion pattern were used into what graphic styles, and also understanding correlations between the fashion trend of S/S season and pattern graphics. Analyzing the pattern graphics in S/S season of 2015 based on each design motif, they were classified into floral motif, geometric abstract motif, and nonrepresentational abstract motif. Among total 120 pattern graphics, the geometric abstract motif was the most(About 46%) while the floral motif was the second most design motif(About 37%). In case of geometric abstract type, there were a lot of star shapes and gingharm check shapes in magazines of spring season more than summer season. Especially, the horizontal stripe abstract type shown a lot in summer-season magazines was a noticeable characteristic. In case of floral motif relatively less, a lot of leaf motifs shown more in summer-season magazines than spring-season magazines were a characteristic. Such motifs were well-combined with SD Images of women's wear in S/S season of 2015, and they were largely shown in four trends like below. First, it is the glamorous and splendid Floral-Look. Second, it is the Hippy-Look pursuing freewheelingness. Third, it is the colorful and schematic Graphic-Look. Fourth, it is the Wild-Look of intense fashion style. The floral-look was the combination of many floral motifs and glamorous/splendid SD Images while the hippy-look was the combination of schematic floral motif, geometric abstract motif, and freewheeling/ethnic SD Images. The graphic-look was the combination of geometric abstract motif and colorful/light SD Images while the wild-look was mainly the combination of nonrepresentational abstract motif and intense/wild SD Images. Among those four trends, the graphic-look showed the lowest frequency while the rest floral-look, hippy-look, and wild-look showed overall similar frequencies. Based on the analysis of the pattern graphics trend shown in women's wear in S/S season of 2015, such trends like pattern graphics with the floral motif and geometric abstract motif, and pattern graphics expressed into floral-look, hippy-look and wild-look were expressed more glamorously and dynamically than the past, which is considered as a gentle revival of the past decorative graphics. The bold expression of large and glamorous floral prints seems to be related to the silent expression of lifestyle in the video era. In summary, Delivering such glamorous, decorative, dynamic, and wild images, the pattern graphics trend of women's wear in S/S season of 2015 is considered to silently express an aspect of lifestyle of this time into pattern graphics.
