본 연구는 ‘즐거운 생활’ 신체표현활동 수업지도의 난점을 파악하고 개선방안을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 2011년 인천 소재 D초등학교 교사 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하고 문헌연구, 비참여관찰, 심층면담으로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 Moustakas(1994)가 제시한 현상학적 자료 분석 단계로‘괄호치기 하기(bracketing)’, ‘수평화 단계(horizonalization)’, ‘패턴발견단계(cluster of meaning)’의 과정을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, ‘즐거운 생활’의 신체표현활동은 교사의 움직임에 대한 인식에 따라 수업지도가 부실하게 운영되고 있었다. 둘째, 교사들은 교사용지도서의 내용이 너무 광범위하고 추상적이어서 수업지도에 큰 도움이 되지 않고 있다고 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 신체표현활동 수업의 가장 큰 문제점은 교사들의 움직임 지도에 대한 지식과 아이디어의 부족이다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 첫째, 교사의 움직임 원리에 대한 지식체계 구축과 이를 위한 샘플수업의 제시 및 교사들 간의 아이디어 공유가 필요하다. 둘째, 교사용 지도서에 움직임 지도를 위한 구체적인 발문 제시가 필요하다. 셋째, 교사와 함께 무용교육을 전공한 보조교사가 수업을 지도할 수 있는 교육여건이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine teaching methods of first and second grader elementary school expression-activity within “Joyful life.” This study investigated difficulties in teaching and explored for possible improvements for effective teaching of expression-activity. The study period in the planning stages of research including data collection and analysis were carried out during April 8th, 2011 to June 10th. This study employed qualitative research methods and data collection included in-depth interviews, non-participating observation, and document collection. Ten elementary teachers and their classes were selected as participants of this study. Data were analyzed and organized using the “bracketing”, “horizonalization”, and “cluster of meaning” of phenomenological data analysis steps until themes emerged (Moustakas, 1994). Member checking was used by sharing data with participants during data collection and analysis to assure trustworthiness and credibility of results. Findings revealed three difficulties in teaching expression-activity within “Joyful life.” First, insufficient teaching methods do not achieve the objective in enhancing students’ creative movement. Second, printed manuals do not facilitate teaching. And third, teachers need more knowledge content on movement. The suggestions for improvement are as follows; teachers require 1) a manual with specific instructions on movement, 2) video materials on movement content for teaching, 3) an assistant dance teacher.

본 연구는 음악교육가가 아닌 안무가이자 무용 이론가인 라반의 움직임 이론을 토대로 예술 교과 중 음 악과 무용을 융합할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 하는 데 목적을 둔다. 나아가 고등학교 음악 수업에서 신 체표현활동을 활성화하는 데 이론적 기반의 발판을 제공하고, 예술융합교육으로서 교수·학습방안 모듈로 제시할 수 있는 가능성을 드러낼 수 있을 것이다. 이에 라반이 제시한 에포트 요소와 동작을 다양한 음악 개념에 연결함으로써 학생들의 음악성과 창의적 사고 역량을 기를 수 있다는 점에 초점을 두고자 하였다. 이에 먼저 역대 음악과 교육과정의 분석을 통해 신체표현이 어떻게 강조되어 왔으며 어떤 음악 개념을 신 체표현에 적용할 수 있는지 살펴보고 둘째, 고등학교 음악 교과서 분석을 통해 신체표현활동 방법과 활동 에 적합한 악곡을 탐색한 후 셋째, 라반의 움직임 이론을 적용한 실제 교수·학습 방안을 모색하였다. 예술 교육의 융합적 사고는 교사의 역량과도 직결되는 문제이다. 학생들은 학교 음악 수업 시간에 음악만 배우 는 것이 아니라, 학습의 과정에서 다양한 방법으로 자신을 표현할 수 있다. 이에 학생들의 무한한 역량을 끌어내는 것이 예술 교사의 역할인 것이다. 때문에 음악과 무용뿐 아니라 미술, 연극, 영화, 문학 등 다른 예술 영역들과도 연계할 수 있는 예술융합교육에 관한 연구가 더욱 활성화될 수 있도록 교사들의 예술적 역량 강화가 함양되어야 할 것이다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to come up with a way to integrate music and dance among art subjects based on Laban's movement theory, not music educator. Methods This work is based on literature analysis as a qualitative research method. Literature analysis may reveal the physical expression activities presented in high school music textbooks, suggesting keywords for applying Laban's movement elements. Results The positive resultant aspect of this work is that after finding various music concepts in musical pieces and connecting the effort elements, we were able to make the sound 'visible' through a series of processes to extract the basic effort behavior and express it as a movement. Conclusions Through the close connection between the concept of music and the elements of Laban's effort, it has laid the theoretical foundation for promoting physical expression activities in high school music classes. This showed the possibility of being presented as a new module for teaching and learning as an art convergence education.
