본 연구는 기후 변화 및 국내 농산물 유통구조의 불안정성에 대한 대안으로 주목받는 건축물 내 수직농 장 설치 활성화를 위한 한국과 싱가포르의 관련 법규 및 정책을 비교 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 싱가포르는 도시형 농업 육성을 위한 명확한 정책 목표(예: 30 by 30 전략) 및 건축 규제 시스템(BCA, TOP/CSC)을 통해 수직농장 설치를 제도적으로 지원하는 반면 한국은 그동안 건축법, 농지법, 산업집적법 등 개별 법규의 충돌과 함 께, 수직농장 특화 구조 하중 기준 부재로 인해 불필요하고 과도한 건축 비용을 유발하는 가혹한 규제 환경에 직 면해 왔다. 특히, 수직농장 하중 평가 사례 분석 결과, 전체 분포 하중은 국내 건축구조기준 상 일반 사무실(2.5 kN/m^2) 범주에도 훨씬 미치지 못하며, 시스템을 지탱하는 수직 발판의 집중하중 역시 창고/서가 기준(6.0 kN/m^2)보다 현저히 낮아, 현행 규제가 실제 하중을 반영하지 못하는 과잉 규제임을 확인하였다. 이에 본 연구는 Negative 규제 방식으로의 전환을 제안하며, 수직농장의 실제 하중을 반영한 별도의 특례 활하중 기준을 신설하 는 제도적 개선 방안을 제시하여, 수직농장 산업의 활성화와 도시 재생 시너지 창출에 기여하고자 한다.

This study comparatively analyzes Vertical Farm regulations in South Korea and Singapore. While Singapore provides clear, supportive structural and policy frameworks, South Korea is constrained by rigid Positive List regulation and the absence of a specialized structural Live Load standard.Vertical Farm load analysis reveals the actual distributed load (0.51 kN/m^2) is drastically lower than South Korea’s minimum required standard (e.g., Office 2.5 kN/m^2), leading to economically burdensome and unnecessary structural reinforcement—a case of severe over-regulation. This paper proposes a regulatory shift to a Negative List framework and the immediate establishment of an evidence-based Vertical Farm Live Load Standard to ensure economic viability and accelerate the market's growth.

PURPOSES : This study estimated the load effect of a single heavy truck to develop a live load model for the design and assessment of bridges located on an expressway with a limited truck entry weight. METHODS : The statistical estimation methods for the live load effect acting on a bridge by a heavy vehicle are reviewed, and applications using the actual measurement data for trucks traveling on an expressway are presented. The weight estimation of a single vehicle and its effect on a bridge are fundamental elements in the construction of a live load model. Two statistical estimation methods for the application of extrapolation in a probabilistic study and an additional estimation method that adopts the extreme value theory are reviewed. RESULTS : The proposed methods are applied to the traffic data measured on an expressway. All of the estimation methods yield similar results using the data measured when the weight limit has been relatively well observed because of the rigid enforcement of the weight regulation. On the other hand, when the estimations are made using overweight traffic data, the resulting values differ with the estimation method. CONCLUSIONS : The estimation methods based on the extreme distribution theory and the modified procedure presented in this paper can yield reasonable values for the maximum weight of a single truck, which can be applied in both the design and evaluation of a bridge on an expressway.

강합성 바닥판은 두 방향의 휨 강성이 다르기 때문에 직교이방성의 성질을 가진다. 강합성 바닥판의 휨 강성비는 활하중 모멘트에 영향을 미친다. 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 휨 강성비는 메인 베아링 바 간격과 직접적인 관계를 가지고 있어 메인 베아링 바 간격과 형상비 영향이 고려된 하중분배 계수식에 대한 연구가 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 휨 강성비를 고려하는 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification에 의한 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 활하중 모멘트를 평가하고 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 하중분배 계수식을 제안하고자 한다.

Because of the different flexural rigidity between longitudinal and transverse direction, orthotropic plate theory may be suitable for describing the behavior of composite deck. The ratio of flexural rigidity between longitudinal and transverse direction affects the live load moment. Because of the ratio of flexural rigidity of concrete unfilled steel grid deck has a direct relationship with main bearing bar spacing, it is concluded that the study for the distribution factor which is effected by main bearing bar spacing and aspect ratio is needed. In this study, evaluate the live load moment of concrete unfilled steel grid deck using the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification and presents the distribution coefficient equation for concrete unfilled steel grid deck.

연구목적: 건축물의 성능위주설계의 평가결과는 가연물의 연소실험으로 측정된 열방출률에 의해 크게 좌우된다. 본 연구는 주거공간의 성능위주설계의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 주거공간의 가연물을 대상으 로 화재실험을 실행하여 주거공간의 열방출률을 측정하였다. 연구방법: 화재실험은 대형콘칼로리미터 시험기의 집연 후드의 아래에 주거공간의 가연물을 배치한 후에 소형화원으로 점화하여 산소소모법에 의해 열방출률을 측정하였다. 또한 화재실험은 주거공간 중에 방 공간과 부엌 공간으로 구분하여 가연 물을 배치하고, 가연물을 점화원으로 점화하여 가연물의 화염형상 및 시간별 가연물 간의 화염전파를 관찰하였다. 연구결과: 부엌 공간과 김치 냉장고의 최대열방출률은 각각 2MW, 1.2MW이었다. 방 공간 은 최대열방출률이 2.8MW로 크고 연소확대가 매우 빠른 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론: 주거공간 가연물의 연소실험을 통해 측정한 열방출률을 모델화하여 주거공간의 디자인 화재곡선을 제안하였으며 이는 주 거공간의 성능위주설계의 신뢰성을 향상하는데 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

Purpose: The design fire sources based on the heat release rate of combustibles heavily influences the evaluation result of a performance-based design. The objective of the present study is to provide the information on the heat release rate for various combustibles in residential spaces. Method: Large scale calorimeter were used according to th amount of the combustibles. The combustibles were ignited using a small amount of fire source. The combustion gas generated in the experiment was collected inside the duct to measure the gas concentration(oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide) and the heat release rate were calculated by the oxygen consumption method. The fire experiments were carried out with single combustible, simulated room and kitchen. Result: The results of these tests showed that the peak heat release rate were 1.2 MW for Kimchi refrigerator and 2 MW for Kitchen. In particular, a room had the highest fire risk in terms of the peak heat release rate, 2.8 MW. Conclusion: The design fire curve was proposed based on the heat release rate of the combustibles, which is expected to increase the reliability of the performance-based design in residential spaces.

발전소의 발전기에서 생산된 전기를 외부 단자로 공급하기 위하여 유일하게 사용되는 수단은 6 kV CV 단심 cable이다. 발전소에서 발생하는 여러 종류의 사고들 중에서 cable의 열화로 인한 화재 사고는 막대한 사회 경제적 손실을 초래한다. 설계부터 시공 및 관리를 더욱 철저히 해야 한다. 설치환경 및 사용 조건 부하량 등에 따라 차이가 있겠지만, 증설과정, 부적절한 설계 등으로 인하여 cable의 단면적이 부족할 경우가 발생하며, 운전 전류에 의하여 초과된 허용온도는 cable의 열화 상태를 초래한다. 우리는 cable의 사고를 체계적으로 감시 및 예방하기 위한 측정 장비를 개발, 한국서부발전 주식회사(Korea Western Power Co., Ltd.)에 설치하여 활선 cable을 진단하였다. 이 논문에서 우리는 cable이 설치되어 있는 주위환경 특히, 주위 온도에 따라 변동하는 cable의 피복표면의 온도를 측정하고 이에 따른 부하 전류를 검토한 결과를 제시한다. 실제 예로서 주위 온도가 40℃ ~ 10℃의 경우에 피복의 표면 온도와 부하전류의 특성을 연구한 결과를 제시한다.

The only method used in the power stations in order to deliver generated electric power is 6 kV XLPE (or CV) single core cables. Among many kinds of accidents happening in the power stations, the outbreak of fire due to the deterioration of live cables causes enormous socioeconomic losses. From the installation of the cables, the management and diagnose should be thoroughly made. Even though it differs depending on the installations and usage conditions, the cross-sectional area of cables is in shortage. The excessive allowable temperature caused from the current causes the deterioration of cables. In order to prevent an unexpected breakdown of live cables, we have invented a device to monitor and diagnose the status of cables. We have installed our device in the Korea Western Power Co., Ltd.. In this paper, we present our research results in situ that we have obtained by measuring the temperature of sheath, changing with the surrounding circumstances, especially ambient temperatures. We also show our study results of characteristics for temperature of sheath surface and load current at the ambient temperatures of 40℃ - 10℃.

발전소에서 전기를 생산 및 공급하기 위하여 고전압 전력 시스템이 동작하고 있다. 고전압 시스템은 저전압 시스템과 비교하여 구조가 복잡하고, 규모가 크고, 가격이 비쌀 뿐만 아니라. 사고 발생시 저압 시스템을 포함하는 대 부분의 설비들에 정전사고가 발생하여 막대한 경제적 손실을 초래한다. 설계부터 시공 및 관리를 더욱 철저히 해야 한 다. 설치환경 및 사용 조건 부하량 등에 따라 차이가 있겠지만, 증설과정, 부적절한 설계 등으로 인하여 케이블의 단면 적이 부족할 경우가 발생하며, 운전 전류에 의하여 초과된 허용온도는 케이블의 열화 상태를 초래한다. 우리는 케이블 의 사고를 체계적으로 감시 및 예방하기 위한 측정 장비를 개발, 한국서부발전 주식회사(Korean Western Power Co. Ltd.)에 설치하여 활선 케이블을 진단하였다. 이 논문에서 우리는 케이블의 부하전류를 측정하고, 측정된 부하전류에 의 한 온도 특성을 예측 연구한 결과를 제시한다. 이 온도 값을 해석하여 케이블의 열화에 미치는 영향을 예측할 수 있다.

High-voltage power systems operate in order to generate and transmit electric power at power stations. Compared to low-power systems, high-power systems are complex in structure, large-scale, and expensive. When high-power cable accidents occur, most facilities are incapacitated—including low-power systems—causing huge economic losses. Great care must therefore be taken in designing, installing and managing power systems. Although dependent on installation circumstances and usage conditions, in some cases the cross-sectional areas of cables fall short of the critical area due to the expansion of and improper design and installation of power facilities. In this situation, the exceeded ampacity (allowable current) above the critical value caused by the operating current initiates the deterioration processes of power cables. In order to systematically monitor power cables operating at power stations, we have developed the first device of its kind in Korea. In this paper, we present the analyzed characteristics of expected temperatures of cables based on the load current of high-voltage cables operating at Korean Western Power Co. Ltd. We can predict the lifetime of cables by analyzing the temperature obtained from our device.

The existing AASHTO Standard Specification have some inadequacies in expressing wheel load distribution of bridge which has specific shape of curved bridge instead of straight bridge. Thus, this research presented the finite element analysis and modelling technique of prestressed concrete girder bridge having curved slab and the expression of wheel load distribution was suggested as the ratio of bending moment utilizing the result of finite element analysis of prestressed concrete girder bridge having cowed slab. The considered parameter of girder distribution expression is the curvature of slab, span length, girder space, cross beam space and number of lanes. Though the suggested girder distribution expression is generally underestimated below AASHTO Standard Specification, once the curvature of slab increases, the suggested expression gets larger than AASHTO LRFD Standard Specification.

One of the instances which demand structural engineer's greatest attention and upgradation is the changing live load requirement in bridge design code. The challenge increases in developing countries as the pace of infrastructural growth is being catered by the respective country codes with bigger and heavier vehicles to be considered in the design. This paper presents the case study of India where Indian Roads Congress (IRC) codes in its revised version from 2014 to 2017 introduced massive Special vehicle (SV) around 40 m long and weighing 3850 kN to be considered in the design of road bridges. The code does not specify the minimum distance between successive special vehicles unlike other loading classes and hence the consequences of it form the motivation for this study. The effect of SV in comparison with Class 70R, Class AA, Class A, and Class B loading is studied based on the maximum bending moment with moving load applied in Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. The spans considered in the analysis varied from 10 m to 1991 m corresponding to the span of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge (longest bridge span in the world). A total of 182 analyses for 7 types of vehicles (class B, class A, class 70R tracked, class 70R wheeled, class AA tracked, AA wheeled, and Special vehicle) on 26 different span lengths is carried out. The span corresponding to other vehicles which would equal the bending moment of a single SV is presented along with a comparison relative to Standard Uniformly Distributed Load. Further, the results are presented by introducing a new parameter named Intensity Factor which is proven to relate the effect of axle spacing of vehicle on the normalized bending moment developed.

A bridge widening technology using steel-concrete composite system was developed and is presented in this paper. The widened superstructure system consists of a newly built composite steel-concrete girder with concrete deck and steel diaphragms attached to the existing concrete girders. This method has been applied in several bridge widening projects in China, and one of those projects is presented in detail. Due to the higher stiffness-to-weight ratio and the rapid erection of composite girders, this widening method reveals benefits in both mechanical performance and construction. As only a few methods for the design of bridges with different types of girders are recommended in current design codes, a more accurate analytical method of estimating live load distribution on girder bridges was developed. In the analytical model, the effects of span length, girder pacing, diaphragms, concrete decks were considered, as well as the torsional and flexural stiffness of both composite box girders and concrete T girders. The study shows that the AASHTO LRFD specification procedures and the analytical models proposed in this paper closely approximate the live load distribution factors determined by finite element analysis. A parametric study was also conducted using the finite element method to evaluate the potential load carrying capacities of the existing concrete girders after widening.

Heat release characteristics of live fire load are an important parameter for performance oriented fire safety design of a building. While investigations have been carried out on the fire load and its burning behavior in office, residential and commercial buildings and so on, little effort has been paid for the rational treatment of fire load in post office buildings in Japan. In this report, burning behavior of typical combustible objects in post office buildings are studied by measuring heat release rates of plastic palettes with and without postal envelopes or packages and special containers loading numbers of palettes. The test results suggest that dynamic heat release rate is highly dependent on the condition of palettes especially if they load appropriate amount of postal envelopes or not.

이 연구에서는 국내 도로교량 평가에서도 설계와 일관성이 있도록 한계상태설계법에 상응하는 평가방법을 마련하고, 선진국과 같이 평가에서 목표신뢰도지수를 감소시키는 경우 신뢰도분석을 통하여 보정하여 평가 활하중계수를 제안한다. 국내 대표 교량형식을 대상으로 수집한 실교량 자료를 활용하여 각 설계기준 별 설계활하중에 대한 하중효과를 산정하여 비교한다. 현행 설계법에 의해 산정된 하중효과를 바탕으로 최소요구강도를 산정하여 이에 대한 신뢰도분석을 통해 활하중계수 보정을 수행한다. 설계수준에 비하여 낮춰진 평가수준의 활하중계수를 교량 안전성평가를 수행하고, 이전 설계법의 안전성평가 결과와 비교하여 평가결과가 증가함을 확인하였다.

In this paper, the evaluation procedure applying the limit state design method is studied to be consistent with the newly issued bridge design code in Korea. The live load factor for evaluation is proposed by calibrating for the target reliability index through reliability analysis. Using the actual bridge information collected for the representative bridge types in Korea, the load effects of the design live loads for the previous and current design codes are calculated and compared. The live load factor is calibrated through reliability analysis using the minimum required strength which equals to the load effect obtained for the example bridge. Bridge evaluation is performed by applying the live load factors for the evaluation level as well as design level. The load rating result is generally increased by applying the limit state design method compared to the previous design method and applying the proposed load factor for lowered target reliability index further increased the rating result.

I 형 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 거더교에서 사용되는 활하중 분배계수는 대부분 외국의 설계기준이 반영된 것들이다. 따라서 교량단면과 부재의 설계 기준강도 등을 고려한 우리나라의 설계여건에 적합한 활하중 분배계수식의 개발이 필요하였다. 본 연구에서는 분배계수를 결정하는 주된 변수들을 선택하고 활하중 분배계수식을 개발하였다.

The Live load distribution factors currently used in the standard prestressed concrete I-girder bridge are just a reflection of overseas design standards. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an equation of the live load distribution factors fit for the design conditions of Korea, considering the standardized section and the design strength of concrete. In this study, the major variables to determine of distribution factors were selected and an equation of live load distribution factors was developed.

The standard prestressed concrete I-girder bridge (PSC I-girder bridge) is one of the most prevalent types for small and medium bridges in Korea. When determining the member forces in a section to assess the safety of girder in this type of bridge, the general practice is to use the simplified practical equations or the live load distribution factors proposed in design standards rather than the precise analysis through the finite element method or so. Meanwhile, the live load distribution factors currently used in Korean design practice are just a reflection of overseas research results or design standards without alterations. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an equation of the live load distribution factors fit for the design conditions of Korea, considering the standardized section of standard PSC I-girder bridges and the design strength of concrete. In this study, to develop an equation of the live load distribution factors, a parametric analysis and sensitivity analysis were carried out on the parameters such as width of bridge, span length, girder spacing, width of traffic lane, etc. Then, an equation of live load distribution factors was developed through the multiple linear regression analysis on the results of parametric analysis. When the actual practice engineers design a bridge with the equation of live load distribution factors developed here, they will determine the design of member forces ensuring the appropriate safety rate more easily. Moreover, in the preliminary design, this model is expected to save much time for the repetitive design to improve the structural efficiency of PSC I-girder bridges.

Because of the orthotropic elastic properties and significant two-way bending action, orthotropic plate theory may be suitable for describing the behavior of concrete filled grid bridge decks. Current AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification(2004) has live load moment equations considering flexural rigidity ratio between longitudinal and transverse direction, but the Korea highway bridge design specification(2005) doesn't. The Korea highway bridge standard specification LRFD(1996) considers an orthotropic plate model with a single load to estimate live load moments in concrete filled grid bridge decks, which may not be conservative. This paper presents live load moment equations for truck and passenger car, based on orthotropic plate theory. The equations of truck model use multiple presence factor, impact factor, design truck and design tandem of the Korea highway bridge standard specification LRFD(1996). The estimated moments are verified through finite-element analyses.

This paper presents a numerical study on the effect of live load pattern on RC flat plate under in-plane compression. Through the numerical study on various live load pattern, the load condition that governs the strength of the flat plate is determined. Effects of L.L/D.L. and arrangement of reinforcement on the behavior of the flat plate are also studied. And the efficient arrangement of reinforcement regarding to live load pattern is proposed.

The structural soundness of bridges is mainly damaged by overloaded heavy vehicles. The increasing volumes of overloaded heavy vehicles has been indicated as serious state. As results several countries have revised their bridge load codes. However, because of variety of truck types and their weights it is difficult to develop rational standard truck loads. In addition the common practice that only one design configuration of standard truck is adopted to design variety of bridges causes further difficulties. The objective of the study is to investigate the statistical characteristics of vehicle loadings based on survey data col looted, in which some major factors, such as vehicle configurations, vehicle freights, traffic modes, etc. are incorporated.

고속철도 WIM 데이터에 대한 통계분석을 통한 철도교량 설계활하중 분석

이 논문에서는 고속철도교량 설계를 위한 활하중 모델을 통계 및 확률적 방법으로 검토하고, 하중조합의 하중계수가 주는 안전율을 분석하였다. 이 연구는 철도교량 설계기준에 대한 한계상태설계법 개발의 일환이며, 이를 위하여 경부고속철도를 운행하는 열차를 대상으로 약 한달 동안 실측하여 데이터를 수집하고 분석하였다. 이 데이터를 대상으로 교량의 설계수명에 맞도록 4가지 통계 방법들을 적용하여 설계하중을 추정하여 비교 검토하였다. 또한, 철도교량의 설계하중조합이 주는 안전율을 검토하기 위하여 신뢰도지수를 구하고 이를 분석하였다. 실측 데이터로부터 추정한 활하중효과에 대하여, 현행 고속철도 설계활하중인 표준열차하중의 0.75배를 적용한 설계활하중 효과의 크기가 최소 30~22% 더 크게 나왔다. 신뢰도분석을 통하여, 극한한계상태만을 기준으로 본다면, 추가적인 하중계수 감소의 가능성이 있음을 알 수 있다.

In this paper, the live load model for the design of high-speed railway bridge is analyzed by statistic and probabilistic methods and the safety level that is given by the load factors of the load combination is analyzed. This study is a part of the development of the limit state design method for the railway bridge, and the train data collected from the Gyeongbu high-speed railway for about one month are utilized. The four different statistical methods are applied to estimate the design load to match the bridge design life and the results are compared. In order to examine the safety level that the design load combination of the railway bridge gives, the reliability indexes are determined and the results are analyzed. The load effect from the current design live load for the high-speed rail bridge which is 0.75 times of the standard train load is came out greater than at least 30-22% that from the estimated load from the measured data. If it is judged based on the ultimate limit state, there is a possibility of additional reduction of the safety factors through the reliability analysis.

Purpose: Majority of bridges and roads in Gangwon Province have been carrying loads associated with heavy materials such as rocks, mining products, and cement. This location-specific live loads have contributed to the present situation of overloading, compared to other provinces in Korea. However, the bridges in Gangwon province are designed by national bridge design specification, without considering the location-specific live load characteristics. Therefore, this study focuses on the real traffic data accumulated on regional weighing station to verify the live load characteristics, including actual live load gross vehicle weight, axle weight axle spacings, and number of trucks. Methods: In order to take into account the location specific live load, a governmental weigh station (38th national highway Miro) have been selected and the passing truck data are processed. Based on the truck survey, trucks are categorized into 3 different shapes, and each shape has been idealized into normal distribution. Then, the resulting survey data are processed to predict the target maximum live load values, including the axle loads and gross vehicle weights in 75 years service life span. Results: The results are compared to the nationally used DB-24 live loads, and the results show that nationally recognized DB-24 live load does not sufficiently represent real traffic in mountaineous region in Gangwon province. Conclusion: The comparison results in the recommendation of location-specific live load that should be taken into account for bridge design and evaluation.
