This study designed a model-based Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) software for electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have transitioned from conventional powertrains (e.g., engines and transmissions) to electric powertrains. The primary role of the VCU is to determine the optimal torque for driving control. This decision is based on the driver's power request and current road conditions. The determined torque is then transmitted to the electric drive system, which includes motors and controllers. The VCU employs an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and calibrated reference torque to enhance the electric vehicle's performance. The designed VCU software further refines the final reference torque by comparing the control logic with the torque calculation functions and ANN-generated reference torque. Vehicle tests confirmed the effective optimization of vehicle performance using the model-based VCU software, which includes an ANN.

Technological substitution is the process by which a radical technology replaces the dominant technology in an industry. The processes of diffusion and substitution have been modeled extensively (Technology & innovation, 2010). However, the formulation of classical quantitative models encompasses only part of the theoretical space. These models impose many simplified constraints to the achievement of analytical resolution. The interior design organization needs to establish a set of technical system requirements by describing the scope of the accessibility needs of the organization against current technology use. Because of complicated design resources and ongoing advances in design technologies, design systems face the challenge of prioritizing new technologies for supporting. The problem is small design organization administration often displays a lack of concern toward the evaluation of technology integration. In this paper, I will identify the influence of a design organization's technology, and predict how future technology will inform, support, and potentially hinder productivity, culture, and work satisfaction within a design organization in the industry. In addition, I will use current design organizational behavior and leadership models to support my predictions. Finally, I will examine a proven approach to assist designers with evaluating technology integration in interior design organization. The goal is to develop a high quality, professional development scorecards for the evaluation. I will conduct both the evaluation of technology integration and CRM performance evaluation is recommended to assess the effectiveness of technology integration. Therefore, the evaluation of integration technologies oriented design hold the promise of solving the organization application integration challenge. The evaluation of integration technology is a significant pattern for processing such a vision. The careful selection of an integration technology for this purpose is crucial in contributing toward the success of such an interior design organization endeavor.

This paper presents a novel approach in the design of a CAM for an asynchronous cache. The architecture of cache mainly consists of four units: control logics, content addressable memory, completion signal logic units and instruction memory. The pseudo-DCVSL is useful to make a completion signal which is a reference for handshake control. The proposed CAM is a very simple extension of the basic circuitry that makes a completion signal based on DI model. The cache has 2.75KB CAM for 8KB instruction memory. We designed and simulated the proposed asynchronous cache including CAM. The results show that the cache hit ratio is up to 95% based on pseudo-LRU replacement policy.

Researchers in Korea and elsewhere have carried out a wide variety of important research activities in their respective fields, producing valuable research results. For such diverse research results to be shared and exchanged among researchers working in the same discipline and research subject there needs to be a community environment based on free utilization of information. Against this backdrop, this study seeks to classify and reprocess the reference/factual content owned by the KISTI (Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information), a state-run distributor of information on science and technology, by the different research subjects. It also seeks to develop and provide a community model based on the concepts of open archiving and open access for the researchers specialized in the related fields of research. This community model is developed focusing on the research results from the field of bioscience, where the most extensive studies are currently being conducted. To develop the community model, this study: (a) surveys the current status of the content owned by KISTI; (b) analyzes the patterns and characteristics of biological scientific content among the KISTI-owned content; and (c) designs a web platform where researchers can freely upload/download research results.

Research on wireless sensor networks has focused on the monitoring and characterization of large-scale physical environments and the tracking of various environmental or physical conditions, such as temperature, pressure, and wind speed. We propose a stochastic mobility model that can be applied to a MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc NETwork). environment, and apply this mobility model to a newly proposed clustering-based routing protocol. To verify its stability and durability, we compared the proposed stochastic mobility model with a random model in terms of energy efficiency. The FND (First Node Dead) was measured and compared to verify the performance of the newly designed protocol. In this paper, we describe the proposed mobility model, quantify the changes to the mobile environment, and detail the selection of cluster heads and clusters formed using a fuzzy inference system. After the clusters are configured, the collected data are sent to a base station. Studies on clustering-based routing protocols and stochastic mobility models for MANET applications have shown that these strategies improve the energy efficiency of a network.

It is difficult for mobile learners to maintain a high level of concentration when learning content for more than an hour while they are on the move. Despite the attention span issue, many m-learning systems still provide their mobile learners with the same content once used in e-learning systems. This has called for an investigation to identify the suitable characteristics of the m-learning environment. With this in mind, we have conducted a survey in hopes of determining the requirements for developing more suitable m-learning content. Based on the results of the survey, we have developed a content model comprised of two types: a segment type and a supplement type. In addition, we have implemented a prototype system of the content model for Apple iPhones and Android smartphones in order to investigate a feasibility study of the model application.

In order to advance the scientific basis for message design, theories of belief, attitude, and intention change focusing on the importance of arguments must be joined with theories that deal more with a message’s executional (or format) features. Previous summaries of the literature on message effectiveness are reviewed. They provide the fact base needing explanation. They are therefore useful but fail to provide an explanatory mechanism for integrating message content and format elements. This paper takes steps in this direction arguing that processing and resource allocation theories (Lang, 2006; Stephenson & Southwell, 2006) can be integrated with theories of belief change (Petty & Cacioppo, 1986) to advance message effects theory and research. The mechanism employed generalizes from the mediational processes of the elaboration likelihood model, namely ability and motivation, arguing that message formatting features themselves affect ability and motivation. Specific predictions for the interaction of message format features and argument strength are derived through their impact on ability and motivation. Recent research reporting interaction between format features and argument strength is described in the context of the model’s predictions. Implications of the model for cumulating knowledge about message effects and guiding future research are explored.

Interior design companies in Seoul, Korea, senior level designers-designers shared leadership model has not been implemented by the design management. The whole interior design companies are worked each by a leadership team consisting of senior level designers, contractors and designers, being accountable for company, workers, and budgets. The results for workers' opinion in leadership positions were evaluated. All 154 leading workers of all professional teams were anonymously interviewed with a questionnaire containing 45 items regarding their satisfaction with this new shared leadership model. The response rate was 96.2%. After all, the leading workers were satisfied with the shared leadership model both in their own designing practice and in general. Non-design workers were comprehensively more in favor of quite a few aspects of shared leadership than senior level designers, but even the latter reported to be generally satisfied. However, both professional teams estimated leading positions to be only modestly attractive. The consequences yield some evidence that the transform from traditional leadership models to the senior level designers -designers shared leadership model may have advantages in the management of interior design companies. Furthermore, there is a need for greater clarity about precisely what we mean by shared leadership and also a deeper exploration of potential challenges arising from shared leadership models if we are to try to come to terms with their practice.

Although many methods about the control of irregular external noise have been introduced and implemented, it is still necessary to design a controller that will be more effective and efficient methods to exclude for various noises. Accumulation of errors due to model tracking, internal noises (thermal noise, shot noise and 1/f noise) that come from elements such as resistor, diode and transistor etc. in the circuit system and numerical errors due to digital process often destabilize the system and reduce the system performance. New stochastic controller is adopted to remove those noises using conventional controller simultaneously. Design method of a model tracking dual controller is proposed to improve the stability of system while removing external and internal noises. In the study, design process of the model tracking dual stochastic controller is introduced that improves system performance and guarantees robustness under irregular internal noises which can be created internally. The model tracking dual stochastic controller utilizing F-P-K stochastic control technique developed earlier is implemented to reveal its performance via simulation.

Recently, as various examples of machine learning have been applied in the healthcare field, deep learning technology has been applied to various tasks, such as electrocardiogram examination and body composition analysis using wearable devices such as smart watches. To utilize deep learning, securing data is the most important procedure, where human intervention, such as data classification, is required. In this study, we propose a model that uses a clustering algorithm, namely, the K-means clustering, to label body fat according to gender and age considering body size aspects, such as chest circumference and waist circumference, and classifies body fat into five groups from high risk to low risk using a convolutional neural network (CNN). As a result of model validation, accuracy, precision, and recall results of more than 95% were obtained. Thus, rational decision making can be made in the field of healthcare or obesity analysis using the proposed method.

When a crime occurs, the information necessary for solving the case, and various pieces of the evidence needed to prove the crime are collected from the crime scene. The tangible residues collected through scientific methods at the crime scene become evidence at trial and a clue to prove the facts directly against the offense of the suspect. Therefore, the scientific investigation and forensic handling for securing objective forensic in crime investigation is increasingly important. Today, digital systems, such as smartphones, CCTVs, black boxes, etc. are increasingly used as criminal information investigation clues, and digital forensic is becoming a decisive factor in investigation and trial. However, the systems have the risk that digital forensic may be damaged or manipulated by malicious insiders in the existing centralized management systems based on client/server structure. In this paper, we design and implement a blockchain based digital forensic management model using Hyperledger Fabric and Docker to guarantee the reliability and integrity of digital forensic. The proposed digital evidence management model allows only authorized participants in a distributed environment without a central management agency access the network to share and manage potential crime data. Therefore, it could be relatively safe from malicious internal attackers compared to the existing client/server model.

The Event-B design pattern is an excellent way to quickly develop a formal model of the system. Researchers have proposed a number of Event-B design patterns, but they all lack formal behavior semantics. This makes the analysis, verification, and simulation of the behavior of the Event-B model very difficult, especially for the control-intensive systems. In this paper, we propose a novel method to transform the Event-B synchronous control flow design pattern into the labeled transition system (LTS) behavior model. Then we map the design pattern instantiation process of Event-B to the instantiation process of LTS model and get the LTS behavior semantic model of Event-B model of a multi-level complex control system. Finally, we verify the linear temporal logic behavior properties of the LTS model. The experimental results show that the analysis and simulation of system behavior become easier and the verification of the behavior properties of the system become convenient after the Event-B model is converted to the LTS model.

The visual presentation is one key feature which gives much consideration in designing mobile applications as it acquires attention from the end user. It takes only a few milliseconds to form an impression on a person and this is not any different to the web and mobile application designs. The first few milliseconds are a crucial time for developers as the impression produced would indicate further engagement of the service. Developers should continuously update the designs based on human needs. A few of these contents have actually paved its way to being continuously used. By synthesizing results of preceding researchers, this paper considers layout, color, and font as UI design elements of SNS messenger, and illustration and animation as the graphic image of it. In this study, the preference for messaging application chat layout was being surveyed and analyzed. As a result, there has been little significance identified since the instant messaging, so chat layout shows very minimal variance in their design.
