지금까지 ‘-었었-’의 의미기능이나 ‘-었었-’에 대응하는 중국어에 관한 연구는 여러 관점 에서 다루어져 왔고, 주로 동사와의 관련성 속에서 이들 문법 표지가 나타내는 시제와 상의 중의적 해석을 밝혔다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 선행 연구와 달리 동사의 의미뿐만 아니라 논항 의 의미 변화 및 부가어의 첨가에 의한 문장의 의미 변화에 초점을 맞추어, ‘-었었-’과 ‘了’, ‘過’의 의미 및 대응 관계를 고찰하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 Smith(1991)에서 제시한 다 섯 가지 기본 상황유형의 [±종결성]에 따라 ‘-었었-’과 ‘了’, ‘過’가 나타내는 의미를 제시하 였다. 이를 토대로 논항의 의미 변화와 부가어의 첨가로 인해 하나의 기본 상황유형에서 다른 상황유형으로 파생되는 경우에 초점을 두어, 이들 파생 상황유형의 [±종결성]에 따라 ‘-었었 -’과 ‘了’, ‘過’의 의미 대조 및 대응 관계를 검토하였다. 결론적으로 결합되는 상황유형의 [± 종결성]이 ‘-었었-’의 의미 및 한·중 문법 표지의 대응 관계에 결정적으로 관여한다고 밝혔 다. 본 연구의 결과는 중국인 학습자들이 ‘-었었-’의 의미기능을 정확히 인식하여 상황에 맞 게 사용하도록 할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 한·중/중·한 번역에 도움이 될 수 있음을 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the correspondence relationship between Korean morpheme ‘-eoteot-’ and Chinese perfective aspect ‘le’, ‘guo’ by reference to the situation type theory. Of the aspectual character inherent in the situation types， ‘telic’ is closely related to a variety of the interpretations of the Korean morpheme ‘-eoteot-’ and Chinese perfective aspect ‘le’, ‘guo’. The Korean morpheme ‘-eoteot-’ can express the meaning of perfective aspect and perfect aspect by the ‘telic’ aspectual character of the different situation types which is attached to. While, Chinese perfective aspect ‘le’ and ‘guo’ can describe an event that has finished before a reference time, thus conveying the past tense conception. The situation type of a sentence is conveyed by the verb and its arguments. However, some adverbs can also trigger situation type shifting and change the aspectual meaning. Those non-verb constituents are also important to analyze the aspectual meanings of sentences. This paper studies aspectual and tense meaning of the Korean morpheme ‘-eoteot-’ and Chinese perfective aspect ‘le’, ‘guo’ by focusing the non-verb constituents of sentences. It is hoped this research could give a favor for the people who study the languages between Korean and Chinese.
