A location based service (LBS) provides useful information to the users based on the geographic location the user designates or the user is currently located. Examples of LBS include directory service, gateway service, location utility service, presentation service, route service, and so on. These services are very useful to the users, and LBS should be available indoor: subways, large shopping malls, department stores, factories, and so on. This manuscript summarizes the techniques needed in development of indoor LBS (ILBS) including indoor positioning, indoor moving objects database system, rendering drawings, and web service.

This paper deals with the optimal evaluation algorithms for bi-directional protection coordination in the case where new distributed generations(DG) are operated in distribution systems. It is very difficult and complicated to handle the interconnection issues for proper bi-directional protection coordination in distribution systems interconnected with DG, because professional skills and enormous amounts of data for the evaluations are required. In order to overcome these problems, the paper proposes reasonable and general evaluation algorithm for bi-directional protection coordination and presents an evaluation system based on the algorithm algorithms and systems using the HMI software. By performing various simulations to practical distribution system with DG, It is verified that the proposed method is practical tool for the fair and objective evaluations systems.

The huge amount of biological information implies a great challenge for data analysis, particularly for combinatorial methods such as Multifactor Dimensionality Reduction. This method can be computationally intensive, especially when more than ten polymorphisms need to be evaluated. The Grid is a promising architecture for genomics problems providing high computing capabilities. In this paper, we describe a framework for supporting the MDR method on Grid environments. This framework helps biologists to automate the execution of multiple tests of gene-gene interactions detection. To evaluate the eciency of the proposed framework, we conduct experiments on the Grid5000. This paper deals with the efficient management for the intelligent distribution system related with the renewable energy sources, using the wire-wireless monitoring and control device. This device is mainly composed of two sections. One is monitoring device using the Autobase Software and the other is control device using PLC. This paper proposes a wire and wireless monitoring and controlling device which can monitor and control the 50Kw PV system installing remotely (about 1Km) in campus of the Korea University of Technology and Education. By the analysis of PV output characteristic using the device proposed in this paper, it is confirmed that the device can contribute the establishment of Smart Grid.

The bandwidth constraints, frequent disconnections and device mobility will affect the resource availability in a wireless grid. The device mobility from one cell to another has diverse impact on job execution. Due to limited resources and rational users, users may not be willing to share the resources. Scheduling of grid jobs in a complex, heterogeneous, resource constrained and dynamic wireless grid environment is challenging. This paper proposes a scheme for seamless job scheduling by using software agents in bandwidth constrained wireless grids. An economic scheme by using non-cooperative bargaining game is designed to encourage resource sharing depending upon grid market dynamics. The scheme consists of two agencies: grid information service and resource broker agency. The agents in agencies interact and cooperate with each other to discover reliable devices, negotiate resource cost and bandwidth, and support seamless job execution. Based on the mobility of a device, agents decide dynamically either to continue or terminate execution of a scheduled job. The scheme is simulated to evaluate the performance parameters such as expected surplus, job completion time and job execution rate. We observed that the proposed scheme performs better than the existing work.

The purpose of this study is to examine the utility of developmental screening tests. I measured of developmental screening tests and compared with each test’s validity. This study was conducted to investigate their developmental delay by four developmental screening tests - K-DIAL3, K-DDSTⅡ, K-CDI and K-ASQ. When a child was included in the developmental delay class through a latent class analysis, probability of being detected as developmental delay child was 82%, 70%, 67% and 56% in K-DIAL3, K-ASQ, K-CDI and K-DDSTⅡ respectively. Positive predictive values were 86%, 59%, 58% and 54% in K-DIAL3, K-ASQ, K-DDSTⅡ and K-CDI respectively and those of combination of two of them were 95%~78% respectively. As Developmental delay positive rates of screening tests were high, more active measures such as exact diagnosis and appropriate management were needed and it was suggested that to improve efficacy of developmental screening tests of detecting developmental delay children two or more than one be used.

Grid Computing has enabled us to utilize the unused computing power (CPU cycles) of computers connected to networks (e.g. Internet). Nowadays, there are lots of scientific projects going on in the domain of High Energy Physics (HEP) and Grid infrastructure constitutes the core computing facility of these projects. One such project is LHC (Large Hadron Collider) deployed at CERN. These experiments produce and manage a large amount of data per day and run thousands of computing jobs to process that data. The applications for these experiments require large data transfers over the network from data sources to computing resources. It is the duty of meta-scheduler to allocate jobs to most appropriate resources, and to use network in an efficient way. In this work, a Network and Data Location Aware job scheduling has been proposed for data intensive jobs. The proposed scheduling algorithm takes into account network characteristics, disk read speed of data sources, and data locations of input files, as well as other computational factors (CPU power, memory, CPU load, e.t.c) when making scheduling decisions. This scheduling algorithm aims to minimize not only file staging (data transfer) time but also turnaround time of the jobs. There are extensions to GridWay that consider the network state when making scheduling decisions, but they have not used network information in an efficient way, and have not considered data locations of input files either. Thus, they are not efficient for data intensive jobs which require huge data movement over the network. The authors have improved the GridWay MetaScheduler with Network and Data Location Aware scheduling algorithm. The improved GridWay MetaScheduler has been tested for data intensive jobs. Results presented here shows that the data transfer time and turnaround time of jobs are reduced when network characteristics, data locations of input files, and disk read speed of storage drive at data sources are considered in the jobs scheduling process.

Many research results convinced that instructional games have positive effects on academic achievement. Game-based learning have aroused attention and interests of educators, parents and game company from all aspects, because of educational potentials which embedded in games; it opened and changed the views towards digital games. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the activity levels of educational game on the intrinsic motivation of the learners. The result of this research, there are meaningful difference in intrinsic motivation between learners who use games on the higher level of activity and learners on the lower level of activity in game-based learning. The intrinsic motivation of extrovert learners' improved more than that of introvert learners' in game-based learning.
