The purpose of this research is to examine the comparison on the intention of offline and online Youth verbal violence in South Korea and to suggest the policy implications by empirical testing of the Extended Theory of Planned Behavior. The current study was examined with self-report data collected from a sample of high school students in Seoul Metropolitan Area from April 10th to April 30th in 2016 and analyzed collected data employing a convenience sampling. The findings indicated that: 1) perceived behavior control factor (+) and norms of peer group factor (+) were statistically significant factors among the major factors of Extended Theory of Planned Behavior that influence to the intention of offline verbal violence. On the other hand, attitude factor and subjective norm factor were not statistically significant factors that influence to the intention of offline verbal violence; 2) subjective norm factor (+), perceived behavior control factor (+), and norms of peer group factor (+) were statistically significant factors among the major factors of Extended Theory of Planned Behavior that influence to the intention of online verbal violence, whereas attitude factor was not statistically significant factors that influences to the intention of online verbal violence. Lastly, the study concluded with a discussion of the implications for reducing offline and online Youth Verbal Violence and a discussion of limitations of the current research.

이 연구의 목적은 청소년의 오프라인과 온라인상의 언어폭력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비교 연구하는 것이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 확장된 계획행동이론을 적용·검증하고 이에 근거한 정책적 시사점을 제언하였다. 2016년 4월 10일부터 4월 30일까지 서울 소재 고등학교 재학생 300명을 대상으로 편의표집 방식으로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 확장된 계획행동이론 요인 중 인지된 행위통제, 집단동료 규범요인이 오프라인 언어폭력 의도에 정적인 영향(+)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 태도와 인지된 행위통제요인은 오프라인 언어폭력 의도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 확장된 계획행동이론 요인 중 주관적 규범, 인지된 행위통제, 집단동료 규범요인이 온라인 언어폭력 의도에 정적인 영향(+)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 태도요인은 온라인 언어폭력 가해의도에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 오프라인과 온라인상 청소년의 언어폭력을 감소시키기 위한 정책적 제언과 이 연구의 한계에 대해 논의하였다.
