This study wanted to optimize the radiator tank's deformation assembled on the automotive engine block. Among the experimental planning methods, the Taguchi method was used to find optimal molding conditions to minimize plastic covers' deformation. The four main factors used in the Taguchi method were selected as the main factors: resin temperature, pressure time, coolant temperature, and cooling time. The number of cycles for each factor was divided into five stages, and a total of 25 experiments were conducted. The experiment used the Moldflow program, an injection molding analysis program. The maximum deformation obtained under the existing molding conditions was about 1.318mm. Still, the deformation of the mold applied with the optimal molding conditions obtained using the Taguchi method was approximately 1.273mm, which showed that the maximum deformation was reduced by 3.4% compared to the existing molding conditions.

Wood-PP composite materials were prepared by Taguchi robust design method with L9 orthogonal array to optimize experimental conditions. Tensile strength of the composite materials was considered as the main properties. Amount of wood powder and modifier of resin were chosen as significant parameters. As the result of Taguchi analysis in this study, the amount of wood powder was the most influencing parameter on the increase of tensile strength. The optimal conditions were determined and these results were good agreement with data analyzed by Taguchi robust design method.

Using the design of experiments (DOE), factors affecting the droplet size of ethyl cellulose (EC) nanoparticles in the manufacturing process were analyzed to optimize process conditions. The concentration of EC dissolved in solvent (acetone or ethanol), the mixing ratio of the EC solution to distilled water, and sonication power were selected as the main variables affecting the droplet size of the nanoparticles. The effect of these variables on droplet size was examined through the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratios of the Taguchi method and ANOVA analysis. Sonication power in the acetone solvent and EC solution concentration in the ethanol solvent were identified as the most influential factors on nanoparticle size.

In this study, We designated the injection molded plug housing for charging electric vehicles as a research subject. And we analyzed the effect of Rib design on the quality of injection molded products. First, we used the Taguchi method to derive optimal conditions for rib design. The factors were set as the Thickness of the rib, the Height of the rib, and the Radius of the rib. Each factor consisted of 5 levels and generated conditions for a total of 125. We performed an injection molding analysis and confirmed significant factors affecting the deformation of injection molded products through ANOVA. Based on this, the 25th design detail was selected as the optimal condition. In addition, We compared the results of the molding analysis with the molded products that did not design ribs. We confirmed that the molded product designed with ribs under optimal design detail improved the deformation amount by 22.22% and the residual stress by 8.35%, compared to the molded product not designed with ribs.

Taguchi's robust design methodology has focus only a single characteristic or response, but the quality of most products is seldom defined by a characteristics, and is rather the composite of a family of characteristics which are often interrelated and nearly always measured in a variety of units. The multiple characteristics problem is how to compromise the conflicts among the selected levels of the design parameters for each individual characteristic. This paper presents a Taguchi-like approach based upon improved weighted main effects. One case study is solved by the proposed method.

This paper presents the approach of design parameters optimization based on Taguchi method for the uniformity of outlet pressure in a plasma discharge chamber. The key issue of a plasma discharge chamber is to have the uniformity of outlet pressure which can make a high performance of surface treatment. To extend the length of a outlet from 60mm to 250mm with the uniformity, This study optimally designed the middle holes, outlet width and height, and diameter of the second chamber by using SolidWorks and flow simulation tool. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.

As the demand for car industry increase worldwide and car models diversify, industry of automobile parts also keep pace and grows day by day. However, since industry of automobile parts is staying small and there are only few study on basic knowledge of productivity, financial competitiveness is greatly insufficient. Among accessory processing, there are more parts such as key home or bolt hole rather than general turning operation, therefore, currently study on intermittence process is exigent. This thesis studied on machinability of Ductile cast iron(FCD 500) which is used for car break desk to help this kind of situation. Also it studied machinability by using Taguchi method which can get the best performance with few tests.

Polyacetal resin is usually used to make molds, but it is difficult to achieve dimension accuracy during molding. Therefore it is usually necessary to cut the polyacetal resin after a molding process. Polyacetal resin is easily machining by standard machine tool. Acetal is also a thermal stable material which can be totted without coolant Another concern about the use of polyacetal resin is that it absorbs water easily, which also results in problems with dimension accuracy Therefore, in this study, the cutting resistance of water-absorbed polyacetal resin and its surface roughness after cutting in order to achieve the highest degree of accuracy in the cutting of polyacetal resin were investigated. The Robust Design method uses a mathematical tool called orthogonal arrays to study a large number of decision variables with a small number of experiments. It also uses a new measure of quality, called signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, to predict the quality from the customer's perspective. Finding an optimal solution in MADN[(Multi-Attribute Decision-Making) problems is difficult, when the number of alternatives, or that of attributes is relatively large Most of the existing mathematical approaches arrive at a final solution on the basis of many unrealistic assumptions, without reflecting the decision-maker's preference structure exactly. In this paper we suggest a model that helps us find a group consensus without assessing these parameters in specific cardinal values. Therefore, This research provides a comprehensive Decision Making of the theory and methods applicable to the analysis of decisions that involve risk and multiple criteria attributes. after, The emphasis of the procedure will be on developments from the fields of decisions analysis and utility theory of Taguchi Method. This theoretical development will be illustrated through the discussion of several real-world application and a case study. When the multiple number of decision makers are involved in the decision making procedure, the problem of uncertainties invariably occurs, because of the different views between them. In this paper, New decision making model using Taguchi Method is applied to effectively model the multi-attribute-decision making(MADM) procedure in the uncertainties dominated two area(quantitative and qualitative factors), Quantitative factors evaluation is used Loss Function of Taguchi, qualitative factors evaluation is used 50 ratio by each specialist. thus it can be used for aiding of preferable alternative. as a result, We will be proved efficiency about New decision making model of applied Taguchi Method with Analytical presentation of all the expecting outcomes when a specific strategy or an alternative plan is selected under expecting future environment.
