This study firstly investigated current status of SPA operations, satisfaction of SPA service, SPA programs, and core facilities in SPA enters on Jeju Island. Secondly, a systematic comparison between SPA in hotels or resorts and day SPA was made to identify strengths and weaknesses of them. Finally, results from fact finding survey were used to ultimately develop a specialized SPA program for Jeju Island. The study results were summarized as follows: With respect to status of SPA programs in hotels/resorts, aromatherapy programs were applied by more than 50% of SPA centers, 10 SPA centers (58.82%) out of 17 SPA centers have applied hydrotherapy programs, and 10 spa (58.82%) out of 17 SPA centers applied the body treatment programs. In case of day SPA centers, all 17 spas provided partial body treatments and body treatment programs were provided by most of them. Aromatherapy programs were offered by only 3 day SPA centers (17.65%). From the result, it was speculated that: First, there were insufficiency in terms of diversity of SPA massage programs and lack of Jeju region specialized programs. Second, there were no management assessment, marketing strategies, and reeducation programs to update systematic or standardized skill of SPA service due to small scale of SPA industry.

Living in a century with great interest in physical appearance caused increase of competitiveness in appearance and 'baby face fever'. Because appearance has been brought up to such competitiveness, alopecia has been causing great stress in both mental and physical state of individuals, leading to negative effects of life. Recently, head spa has been brought up to people’s interest due to its mentally soothing effect along with its effective scalp health care. The experiment was progressed with controlled subjects of non-working individuals from ages from 30 to 60 by exposing the subjects to go through head spa care program with survey on scalp·hair changes and satisfaction level. The head spa care program was held under controlled conditions for 4 weeks with 1 head spa care session per week and been observed with appropriate diagnostic apparatus on each steps of head spa care program. The changes on oiliness and moisture level were measured by scalp health measurement from calvaria and occipital site. The result on changes of oiliness shows ±2.152 in calvaria before the experiment and increased to ±2.733 after the experiment, which does not show significance (p<0.05). For occipital site, before experiment was ±3.124, and decreased to ±0.342 (p<0.05). As for changes of moisture level, ±0.516 before the experiment and increased to ±1.653 (p<0.05) in calvaria, and ±1.493 before the experiment and increased to ±1.461 in occipital site. This shows that moisture level has increased in both calvaria and occipital site after the experiment. The overall result on oiliness and moisture level test shows improvement from dry and reddish scalp with greasy sebum oxide to clean and clear pore line, enlarged pore size, and decreased number in dead skin cells as it can been observed clearly through naked eye from the monitor(picture). Scalp health measurement showed change in hair thickness from average of 0.3594 and standard deviation of 0.0556 before the experiment, and average of 0.4158, and standard deviation of 0.0599 after the experiment in calvaria. The average and standard deviation shows significance in change that hair thickness level has improved. Therefore, the experiment result shows that head spa care program is an effective method for men and women who needs scalp·hair care

The beautycare- relating department in the entire country is opened from 36 subjects in 30 universities, which is developing stably within the system, and cultivates a beautycare specialty and the leader by developing subjects about skincare, haircare, makeup and nailcare. This study was accomplished to group the jump of the beauty care relation subject by giving a quality plan via analysis of beautycare industry. The skincare industries were established by a carrier development of the woman the paradigm of skincare industry is changing with a wellbeing strong wind. The senior spa which is pursuing beauty and health of the old man must be a major part of beauty industries because our country is going to meet the Aged society as a quick increase of the aging population. So the beautycare-relating subject has to developing spa therapy, spa program, spa management and gerontology-relating subjects also to groups the quality plan for the senior spa industries.
Today, SPA fills many of the same needs as they did thousands of years ago, including relaxation, wellness and stress relief by incorporating many of the same methods embraced by the ancients such as a multitude of hydrotherapy treatments, thalassotherapy and massage therapy, one of the most widely used SPA treatments. The definition is as follows: SPA is entities devoted to enhancing overall well-being through a variety of professional services that encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit. It was from here that the concept of modernday SPA evolved, incorporating hll health and beauty services along with sport, aquatic and rest facilities. Todays SPA, a absolute concept, is being specialized and spread as fast as undefinable just in a word. Thalassotherapy, a kind of SPA therapy, contains minerals and trace elements. Born more than 4,000 years ago in ancient Egypt, thalassotherapy comes from the Greek words for thalasso (sea water) and therapeia (to heal). Thalassa was the Greek personification of the Mediterranean Sea that surrounded them and gave them so much of their sustenance. It helps to nourish, hydrate and refine skin texture and also eliminate metabolic waste and toxins in the body. Thalassotherapy is recommended for post-natal and postsurgery recovery period, chronic fatigue, circulatory problems, cellulite control and dermatological problems. It's also possible to enjoy the thalassotherapy SPA as a day guest. Be sure to try the jansu massage, given in the heated sea water pool. As a trained therapist gently whisks clients through the womb-warm water, clients can practically feel the toxins leave their body. Many women from all over the world have been kept up beautiful skin with applying thalassotherapy to their faces and bodies since long times and these days in France, they are getting great curative clinical effects from renovative and scientific technological combination. Thus thalassotherapy will be absolutely ultimate form of natural healing which can keep and recover human's health and beauty.

This study discusses data collection, calculation of wind and wave-induced resistance, and speed-power analysis of an 8,600 TEU container ship. Data acquisition system of the ship operator was improved to obtain the data necessary for the analysis, which was accomplished using SPA (Ship Performance Analysis, Park et al., 2019) in conformation with ISO15016:2015. From a previous operation profile of the container, the standard operating conditions of mean draft were 12.5 m and 13.6 m, which were defined with the mean stowage configuration of each condition. Model tests, including the load-variation test, were conducted to validate new ship performance and for the speed-power analysis. The major part of the added resistance of container ship is due to the wind. To check the reliability of wind-resistance calculation results, the resistance coefficients, added resistance, and speed-power analysis results using the Fujiwara regression formula (ISO15016:2015) and Computational fluid dynamics (Ryu et al., 2016; Jeon et al., 2017) analysis were compared. Wind speed and direction measured using an anemometer were used for wind-resistance calculation and the wave resistance was calculated using the wave-height and direction-data from weather information. Also, measured water temperature was used to calculate the increase in resistance owing to the deviation in water density. As a result, the SPA analysis using measured data and weather information was proved to be valid and able to identify the ship's resistance propulsion performance. Even with little difference in the air-resistance coefficient value, both methods provide sufficient accuracy for speed-power analysis. The differences were unnoticeable when the speed-power analysis results using each method were compared. Also, speed-power analysis results of the 8,600 TEU container ship in two draft conditions show acceptable trends when compared with the model test results and are also able to show power increase owing to hull fouling and aging. Thus, results of speed-power analysis of the existing 8,600 TEU container ship using the SPA program appropriately exhibit the characteristics of speed-power performance in deal conditions.
