The supporting post in a unique and special way of connecting the upper and lower pillars is not only mainly used for the traditional Korean-houses known as Hanok, but also used for the reinforcement purposes to replace or connect some parts of the long pillar, and to preserve existing members during the repair of cultural properties. It is also used to connect and replace long vertical members such as long pillars, the multi-story structure of wooden pagoda and core pillars into several column members. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types and uses of the supporting post in traditional Hanok and to reinforce the vertical joints by developed vertical metal fittings. The rupture pattern of the joints by bending is shown through the experiment and the mechanical properties are compared with other experimental results.

In this paper, neural networks predictive PID (NNPPID) control system is proposed to reduce the vibration of structure. NNPPID control system is made up predictor, controller, and self-tuner to yield the optimal parameters of controller. The neural networks predictor forecasts the future outputs based on present input and output of structure. The controller is PID type whose parameters are yielded by neural networks self tuning algorithm. Computer simulations show displacements of multi-story structures applied to NNPPID system about environmental load-wind forces and earthquakes.

It is reported that there is a limit in increasing heavy-weight impact noise isolation performance of the load bearing wall system apartments to meet the regulation of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT). To increase the heavy-weight impact noise isolation performance, improvement in structural systems such as increasing concrete slab thickness and application of rahmen structure were proposed. In this study floor impact sound levels from toil apartments with two rahmen structure multi-story residential buildings were measured before the construction of the buildings finished. Measurements were made at living room and two bedrooms at each apartment when the finishing processes were finished. The average value of light-weight impact sound level from ten apartments was 56dB (L'$\sub$n,Aw/). The heavy-weight impact sound level was 44dB (L'$\sub$i.Fmax.Aw/) and the impact sound level of the impact ball was 41dB(L'$\sub$i.Fmax.Aw/), As a result floor impact noises at the rahmen structure system were lower than the regulation level.

This paper presents an analytical procedure for the time-dependent analysis of the multi-story prestressed concrete structure under the construction stage. To account for the actual structural behavior, the procedure considers the effects due to the construction interval and the time-dependent losses of prestress at every construction step on the entire structural response. A numerical study is performed to demonstrate the general validity of the approach and to quantitatively evaluate the effects resulted from the time-dependent behaviors during construction. Recommendations and conclusions are developed by comparisons with structural responses using the present and conventional methods of analysis. The comparative results show that both effects of sequential construction and time-dependent prestress losses should be considered for the construction stage analysis.

다문화 가정 이주여성의 이야기 구조 개념과 언어능력의 변화를 위한 반성적 그림책 읽기활동의 효과

본 연구는 반성적 그림책 읽기활동이 다문화 가정 이주여성의 한국어 습득에 효과가 있는가를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상은 필리핀 출신 다문화 가정 이주여성 3명이고 9주 동안 주 1회씩 8회 반성적 그림책 읽기활동을 실시하였다. 이들의 언어수준을 평가하기 위하여 반성적 그림책 읽기활동 전과 후에 글 없는 그림책을 읽고 꾸민 이야기를 채미영(2003)이 개발한 이야기 구조 개념과 언어능력 측정 도구를 이용하여 평가하였다. 연구 결과 다문화 가정 이주여성의 이야기 구조 개념은 활동 전에는 1수준과 2수준에서 활동 후에는 3수준으로 높아졌으며, 언어능력은 활동 전에는 1수준과 2수준에서 활동 후에는 2수준과 3수준으로 높아진 것으로 나타났다.

The Purpose of this study is to identify whether reflective reading activities of picture books are effective or not on the linguistic ability of immigrated women of multi-cultural families. The subjects of the study were 3 immigrated women of multi-cultural families from the Philippine. And the reflective reading activities of picture books were carried out 8 times during 9 weeks. The stories restructured before and after the activities using a wordless picture book were estimated to measure the linguistic level of them, adopting the measuring tool of concept of story structure and linguistic ability that was developed by Chae Mi-Young (2003). The result of this study presents as follows; i) The concept of story structure of immigrated women in multi-cultural families was increased from level 1 and 2 to level 3. ii) The linguistic level was increased from level 1 and 2 to level 2 and 3. This study gives a suggestion that the reflective reading activities of picture books are sufficiently effective as a linguistic teaching material not only for the young children but also for the immigrated women of multi-cultural families.
