이 연구는 인공지능(AI) 사용자 역량의 본질을 이론적으로 탐색하고, 초등 실과교육이 추구해 온 전인적·인문학적 교육 가치와 어떻게 연결되는지를 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 교육철학, AI 리터러시, 국내외 관련 선행 연구를 분석 및 종합하는 문헌 고찰 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, AI 사용자 역량의 본질은 기술적 숙달(techne)에서 나아가, 삶의 맥락 속에서 목적을 설정하고 가치를 판단하는 ‘실천적 안목’이며, 실천적 지혜(phronesis)에 터한 윤리적 가치 판단, 암묵지 기반의 맥락 이해, 주체적 목적 설정 능력이라는 세 차원으로 이루어지며, 2022 개정 교육과정의 내용 체계 범주(지식·이해, 과정·기능, 가치·태도)와 구조적으로 대응하여 교육 현장의 질적 평가 준거로 작동할 수 있다. 둘째, 실천적 안목으로서의 AI 사용자 역량은 체화된 인지, 이성과 감성의 통합적 심성 교육, 기술해석학적 자기 이해라는 세 층위에서 실과교육의 본질적 특성과 부합한다. 노작 활동을 통해 형성되는 암묵지는 AI 산출물을 비판적으로 검증하는 토대가 되며, 이성과 감성의 조화를 통한 전인적 심성함양은 AI 시대에 요구되는 윤리적 판단력의 기반이 된다. 셋째, AI 시대 실과교육은 코딩 중심의 기술 훈련을 넘어, 체화된 경험을 통한 맥락 이해, 이성과 감성의 조화를 통한 가치 판단, 삶의 맥락과 연결된 주체적 목적 설정이라는 세 방향을 지향해야 한다. 결론적으로 실과교육은 학습자가 실천적 안목을 형성함으로써 주체적인 AI 사용자 역량을 함양하도록 돕는 교육적 거점으로서 역할을 다해야 한다.

This study theoretically explores the essence of AI user competency and its alignment with the holistic and humanistic values of elementary Practical Arts education. A literature review synthesizing educational philosophy, AI literacy, and related studies was conducted. First, the essence of AI user competency extends beyond technical mastery (techne) to “practical discernment,” the ability to set goals and make value judgments within real-life contexts. This discernment comprises three dimensions: ethical judgment based on practical wisdom (phronesis), contextual understanding via tacit knowledge, and autonomous goal-setting, structurally corresponding to the 2022 Revised National Curriculum’s content categories (Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes). Second, AI user competency as practical discernment aligns with Practical Arts through embodied cognition, holistic character education, and techno-hermeneutic self-understanding. Tacit knowledge from hands-on making provides a foundation for verifying AI outputs, while balanced character cultivation fosters ethical judgment. Third, Practical Arts education must move beyond coding-centric training to focus on fostering discernment through embodied experiences and balanced value judgments. Ultimately, Practical Arts education should serve as a pedagogical hub that empowers learners to develop autonomous AI user competency by cultivating practical discernment.
