Cipher for Internet-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Architecture

SCADA historically is responsible for monitoring and controlling critical infrastructures and manufacturing processes in an isolated environment. But with the requirement of a timely access of information for making decisions, large and modern companies being in a geographically diverse location take advantage of the internet as an important communication channel to allow the exchange of data. However, with SCADA being in the internet raise the issue of security. As more components of control systems become interconnected with the outside world using IP-based standards, the probability and impact of a cyber attack heighten. With the posted threats and listed vulnerabilities in this study, a retrofit for these threats through the crossed cipher scheme is presented. To get the best of both types of cipher symmetric using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and the asymmetric ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) to address the Confidentiality, Authentication, Integrity and Non-repudiation issues in SCADA system.
Scheme to Secure Communication of SCADA Master Station and Remote HMI’s through Smart Phones

SCADA is a concept that is used to refer to the management and procurement of data that can be used in developing process management criteria. The use of the term SCADA varies, depending on location. Conventionally, SCADA is connected only in a limited private network. Later on, SCADA was connected through the internet. There are studies and emerging technology on controlling SCADA via mobile phone. The wireless communication between the mobile phone and the SCADA server can be performed by means of a base station via general packet radio service (GPRS) and wireless application protocol (WAP). The internet SCADA facility and the extension of the HMI to mobile phones has brought a lot of advantages in terms of control, data generation and viewing. As a drawback, come the security issues. In this paper, we discuss web SCADA and its connectivity, the extended HMI to the mobile phones and the issues regarding security. We also suggested a security solution using asymmetric-key encryption.
A Review of Smartcard Security Issues

The term "Smartcard", is widely used for business transactions and multiple services and are specifically designed for security, thus, it incorporates mechanisms for detection of and recovery from security problems. This technology can provide identification, authentication, data storage and application processing. This paper presents an overview of the Smartcard technology and the threats to its security categorized as Logical, Physical, and Side Channel. The dangers caused by these threats are discussed along with its basic countermeasures.

클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경이 성장하면서 IT 서비스 분야의 콘텐츠가 다양해지고 있다. 3-screen, 가상화, 네트워크 기반의 어플리케이션 등 On-demand 형태의 다양한 서비스가 제공되면서 해당 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 보안 위협을 탐지, 예방하기 위한 보안기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드컴퓨팅 환경에서 해결해야할 보안 문제에 대하여 이슈와 사례를 기술하고 이용자 입장에서의 클라우드 컴퓨팅 보안 평가 요소를 제시한다.
Cloud computing environment while growing a variety of IT service sector has become the content. 3-screen, virtual, network-based applications such as On-demand services offered by a variety of forms as may occur in the environment to detect security threats, security technologies are needed for prevention. In this paper, to solve security issues in cloud computing environments for technology issues and practices, and user entry element in the cloud computing security assessment is presented.

In this paper we presented the security vulnerabilities, threats, and possible attacks for IP Multimedia Subsystem and the appropriate Security Gateway and IPSec Tunneling. Multimedia Subsystemis an architectural framework for delivering Protocol services is in need of more secure connection between interconnected networks. IMS unifies applications that are based on SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), a next-generation packet-based signaling protocol that enables rich multimedia sessions (voice, images, and video).The proposed solution is based on the definition of a Security Gateway for the internetworking between IMS and the Internet. The main functions to be performed by the SEG are discussed, and then the security procedures are briefly presented.

There are over 20 different techniques on edge histogram analysis exists today for comparing video content similarities. As the study allows far more complex structural analysis to be conducted than generally known techniques, it is possible to extract diversified features by comparing video content similarities. This technique is applicable to unmanned security system running on Time Interval and the implemented system can perform its duties with reduced number of tasks, resulting lesser load on H/W while increasing processing speed.
Design of Multi-camera Based Acts Monitoring System for Effective Remote Monitoring Control

With the appearance of Pan/Tilt camera that can adjust upward & downward and right & left, fixed cameras used at the existing monitoring system are being replaced. Although the Pan/Tilt camera improves the performance of monitoring, it requires much higher cost. Therefore, there must be an alternative that produces optimum effects while utilizing the existing infrastructure. This paper designed multi-camera based acts monitoring system which enables observer to control monitoring system effectively. What was monitored will be analysed through acts when a moving object appears within the scope of many fixed cameras. Acts refer to the eyes of moving object, the pattern of moving directions, etc. and progress the detection and trace of object with video data collected. Acts also provide adaptive switching interface that help observer control remote monitoring effectively through mobile terminal.

This paper introduces the technological developments that hold relevance to the evolution of u-Learning and analyzing the opportunities they may offer to enhance learning. Digital revolution and subsequent developments in mobile, wireless and networked technologies drives the significant change of the education operation despite the fact that education is slow to adapt these changes. These technological developments such as miniaturization, wireless technology, and cloud computing – computing delivered as a service over the internet that leads to the era of ubiquitous computing integrated into learning described as u-Learning or ubiquitous learning environment could provide and facilitate rich learning experiences. These combinations guided by principles of learning paradigms advances the computing capabilities allowing educators to become catalysts of learning, transforming students into a more active and collaborative participants in knowledge making.
