Can Korea, Japan, and China make for East Asia peace and turning point for peaceful world order through past liquidation with mutual cooperation, respect and recognition between three nations centered on peace of Korean Peninsula? This study intends to suggest an answer to this question based on the understanding and practice of East Asian peace based on Unification Thought. Based on the research results, the proposals for peace in East Asia are as follows. First, the role of non-governmental organizations in the international community will be enhanced if military tensions in East Asia are reduced. Second, it is anticipated, however, that when sisterhood relationships between cities develop into a sisterhood between their citizens, the scope of possibilities for mutual understanding will be much greater, and mature civic consciousness will further develop. Third, faith-based civic groups need to take a central role and strengthen solidarity.

The purpose of this paper is to show how Whitehead’s metaphysics can overcome Heim’s perspectival approach to religions. For this, I analyze some main points of the two metaphysical frameworks, compare them, and then interpret Heim’s view in light of Faber’s interpretation of Whitehead to overcome the eternal separation of perspectival worlds. Some Unification Thought views on this issue are added in the end of this paper.

Our economic environment changes everyday. We are all connected from an economic perspective in the era of globalism. Consumer groups request more responsibility from business to solve economic problems. After the world economic crisis, investors carefully observe the environmental, social, and governance issues related to the profit of corporations where they invest. ESG are actually effective for the performance and sustainability of companies. ESG is a new tool that evaluates businesses and organizations for their better performance for the environment and public. It has been thought that economics has nothing to do with religion.Unification Thought has an economic viewpoint of Mutual Existence that is centering on God. God created the world and everything belongs to God. God gave subjectivity to humans who could share wealth with God. This impact extended the life of companies that prioritized profits in the past and companies actively set and developed their own goals. ESG remains only on the material side when it performs in companies and NGOs. ESG’s criteria have not yet included these spiritual values. However, unlike other economic standards, it considers the rights of nature, human rights, and justice to continue to grow. Religion needs to play a role in setting new economic standards. Rather than rejecting religion, we should think about the value of human co-prosperity provided by religion.Humans and the environment must survive together, humans and humans must prosper together, and society must continue to go in the right direction. To achieve the goal, not only material goods but also spiritual love must go together in economic activities. Without love for mankind and nature, mankind would not be able to see the right direction.

This paper has reviewed over the real factors that brought legalization of a practice of religious faith represented by conscientious objection to military service in the Republic of Korea. This country had long refused its legalization typically due to such reason that the Korean War had not been over completely but just entered into an armistice state. This brought a question to the author what were then the real factors that had brought it happen because the armistice state had not been changed. After comparatively reviewing over the Constitutional Court Decisions in 2011, one for prevention and in 2018, the other for grant in legalization, the author found that the main factors that made it possible were the long-time suffering of the objectors. Also, their suffering had no merit to the military draft system and so national defense. And this mainly became the cause that had moved the South Korean public including the law makers as well as the judges. This legalization gives one implication that could be applied to other trials to legalize a religious faith-based practice by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification such as religious objection to the Anti-discrimination Law which would soon allow same-sex marriage in this country.
