This paper examined the translation strategy of Chinese translation of Korean TV drama titles for the last ten years and searched for examples of translation memes usage. In present-day society where the influence of media is growing daily and more inter-cultural infiltration occurs than ever, television is a media that can have a powerful ripple effect on a large mass of people. Consequently, more attention needs to be devoted to the translation of Korean TV dramas. Whereas in the earlier years, translation relied largely on Korean strategies, in later years, focus shifted to the localization of Korean culture. It is believed that out of the 131 dramas that have been aired in China over the past 10 years, only 13% of the translation meme has been properly conveyed. It is regrettable that the study was not able to examine every Korean TV drama aired in regions of China, however it is anticipated that depending on information release by the Chinese broadcasting companies, further, more comprehensive studies will be possible in the future. It is expected that the investigation of Korean TV drama title translation strategies and translation memes will be of use to professional media translators and maximize receptivity of Korean and Chinese cultures through translation.
