In this japanese animation series Neon Genesis Evangelion, what matters for the characters is the rewriting the Genesis, the Bible, that is to say the history of mankind. What is now in question in this film is nothing but the rightness or justice of the way how the history was written. In the same time it is a problem of history, religion, psychology and finally philosophy. How to write a history, our history? Everything's in the hands of A. T. Field, or of fools that are human beings
... always and eternally suffered by their own ignorance and desires. How could we save the mankind, the human race? Only by letting the humankind live there own way. In short, let it be as it always was. So let it be.
