The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of perceived competence on female high school students' interest in dance classes. For this, a total of 714 female students were participated in this study. They answered a set of questionnaire of perceived competence and course interest inventory. Analytic methods were exploratory factor analysis, internal onsistence,
descriptive statistics, correlations analysis, multiple regression analysis, and one-way ANOVA. The results of the study were follow as; First, three subfactors of perceived competence were positively correlated to the subfactors of dance interest. Second, the subfactors of perceived competence were predicted significantly the level of dance interest, especially indicating that cognitive and physical competence highly explained the level of self-confidence in dance. Third, students perceived strongly cognitive and physical competence were more interested in dance than others. Therefore, several points of view for enhancing students' interest in dance were discussed based on the results of this study.

본 연구의 목적은 여고생의 지각된 유능감이 무용흥미 수준에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 714명의 여고생을 대상으로 지각된 유능감과 무용흥미를 측정하였다. 자료분석은 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰성 검증, 기술통계, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석, 그리고 일원 변량분석이 실시되었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세 가지 지각된 유능감 요인은 무용흥미 요인과 모두 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 세 가지 지각된 유능감 요인은 무용흥미 수준을 유의하게 예측하는 변인이었으며, 특히 인지적, 신체적 유능감은 무용 자신감에 대한 설명력이 가장 높았다. 셋째, 지각된 유능감 프로파일을 분석한 결과 인지적, 신체적 유능감을 높게 지각할수록 전체적으로 무용에 대한 흥미가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이 연구결과에 기초하여 무용에 대한 흥미를 높일 수 있는 몇 가지 시사점에 대하여 제안하였다.
